Oh wow... where do I begin! This is absolutely worth every penny. This item was my biggest concern with my deliver as I had made a very large purchase, and the delicate nature of the glass doors, however arrived without a problem! I want to address a few concerns in other reviews; there is mention by others about one of the shelves having some damage from the handle screws, mine also had this; there is only one fixed shelf, the rest you insert at the height you like, the fixed shelf goes across where the handles lay. It's important to note that these doors are held shut by a strong hidden magnet, they're very sturdy and small children wont be able to open these doors, great for protecting your valuables and delicate things! However this also means the handles must be well built, sturdy, and strong. They have very strong screws keeping them in place so they don't break when you pull against the force of the magnet to open them, this however does rub against the fixed shelf, and with mine there are small marks on the shelf where the screw lay. Can you see the marks when the doors are closed? no. Are the marks obvious if you aren't looking with a fine-toothed comb? no. I have vintage pottery in mine, and the fact young children are not able to pull these doors open to smash everything is well worth having two insignificant marks on a shelf that you can't even see 99% of the time! The cotswold co. has clearly taken into account the purpose of this product, and I'm more than happy to accept a screw mark if it means the cabinet is structurally amazing and knowing it's well built and not going to fall apart on me, these are not tiny cheap screws! Next are some people saying doors are not perfectly aligned, and no they're not exactly aligned, theres maybe a 2mm difference, but this is oak, and as with all wood, it expands and contracts with temperature, it will change slightly over time; but thats why people love it, it adds rustic charm and character, it hasn't got the same cold and manufactured look of cheap wood imitations, it's made with care, and so it will have slight imperfections, but unless you're using a ruler to look at the cabinet, you won't notice. Mine looks exactly like the photo on the website, what you see is what you get! As for the delivery company, I suppose it varies by area, but here in somerset, they were amazing, I definitely recommend you pick the option for them to remove the packaging as it comes with a lot! Delivery team were very hard working, double checked I had all fittings before they left, and asked me to inspect all furniture before they left to confirm none was damaged, they didn't rush me unlike some untrustworthy delivery companies, and were very professional! I think the thing I like most is how easy it is to fit the shelves, you can choose the height of each shelf, which is good if you have very tall or vey short items to put in, however I opted to keep each shelf at an equal height. Fittings are hidden so when closed you don't see ugly holes in the back like you do with cheap furniture, looks as though each shelf was permanently fixed in! Also very sturdy shelves, they're easy to remove, but can hold a lot of weight, every one of my university books fit on a shelf, very heavy things, yet theres zero bowing like I saw with my imitation wood shelves from other stores. Also shelves are surprisingly deep, you won't have any trouble fitting 99% of things on these!
