The SleepSoul range: Balance, Cloud, Heaven, Luna and Space
These are hybrid mattresses, with foam over pocket springs. Balance 800 is the plain option, with memory foam and no pillow top. Cloud 800 adds a pillow top over memory and reflex foam. Heaven uses gel foam, while Luna offers memory-foam and gel-foam builds ranging from listed medium to firm. Space adds mini pocket springs to the main pocket-spring layer, with the firm Space 4000 using gel foam. More layers do not automatically make a better mattress.

Mattress Online lists every model here as rolled, vacuum packed and single-sided. Mattress Online is a shop I rate: a wide range and prices that don't need decoding. These still get rotated like any one-sided mattress: the underside isn't for sleeping on.
Delivery in a roll appeals when you're furnishing a first flat. I have no quarrel with putting springs in a box. The sewn-on tops concern me much more.
One Balance owner calls it "a pool table", which brings those celestial names back to earth. If you're expecting the yielding feel of a medium mattress, leave the Balance 800 out of your shortlist.
Nine sewn-on pillow tops are nine reasons to hesitate
A soft layer stitched onto the mattress is the first part to lose its shape, and a single-sided build leaves you without another sleeping face to use. That's why I avoid pillow tops.
Several Space 2000 owners describe sinking or sagging within weeks, and one describes a body impression they roll back into. A Cloud 800 owner found a dip inside two months. A Luna 1000 owner complains of an uneven middle, while a light Heaven 1000 owner says the mattress sags without recovering. I wouldn't buy these for long-term daily use.
Plenty of owners are pleased, and the pleased ones cluster on three models. Space 3000 owners are largely pleased, including those who find it firm with enough give. One wishes it were softer, while another finds it hot and rolls towards their partner. Space 4000 owners are mostly delighted, although a couple describe discomfort and one finds it very warm. Luna 1500 Ortho owners asked for firm and that's what turned up.
Those happy buyers probably enjoy a soft surface on a tall bed. Fair enough: some people love climbing into that much upholstery. For a guest bed, though, don't assume extra height means broader appeal. I'd still put something plainer in the spare room.
Owners disagree with the firmness labels in both directions
Take repeated owner descriptions more seriously than SleepSoul's listed feel, and use each label as a rough direction. Several Balance 800 owners find it far too hard, and one reaches for "a plank of wood"; a Space 2000 owner describes concrete-like hardness, while several others find that model far too soft. It turns out celestial comfort includes a surprising amount of building material.
Cloud 800 is listed medium, yet several owners describe a very hard, uncomfortable surface. A couple find it too soft. Its filling is 2cm of memory foam plus 1.5cm of reflex foam over 800 pocket springs. The Heaven 1000 is listed medium, its owners call it both too soft and too hard, and one questions the listed gel filling.
Luna 1000 owners repeatedly find it firmer than medium to firm, despite its memory foam and additional foam layers over 1000 pocket springs. Heaven Cool Gel 3000 has 3cm of gel foam and 1000 pocket springs plus 2000 minis. Owners describe it as firm or harder than expected. Luna 2000 Comfort combines gel foam with 800 pocket springs and 1200 minis, and a couple of its owners report comfortable sleep, while one found it too hot.
Soft edges and springs felt through side panels recur across Balance, Cloud, Space 2000 and Heaven reports. That matters on a shared double: when the edge gives way, you lose sleeping width. Sit near the edge when trying any of these, because lying neatly in the centre misses that weakness.
My partner already helps themselves to my share of the duvet. I draw the line at losing my patch of mattress too. Space 2000 owners describe rolling into the centre, a Heaven owner says the lighter sleeper rolls towards the heavier, and a Space 3000 owner rolls towards their partner.
The Balance 800 makes the clearest case at this money
The Balance 800 suits a budget-conscious back or front sleeper who wants firm. Its knitted cover sits over 2cm of memory foam and 800 pocket springs, within a manageable 22cm depth. Happy owners praise its value. Others feel springs at the sides. One reports dips after extended use and another a persistent strong smell.
For anyone committed to a pillow top, the Space 3000 receives the warmest owner response. Its listed medium build includes 3cm of memory foam between soft foam layers, over 1000 pocket springs and 2000 minis. The minis are padding, and 3000 is a padded number.
The firm Space 4000 is the more plausible fit for a heavier back sleeper, with gel foam over 2000 pocket springs and 2000 minis. "Orthopaedic support" on the listing means firm, and it has never meant anything else to me. Foam over springs still holds warmth, and gel takes the edge off at best. Hot sleepers will do better among other firm mattresses with less foam on top.
I'd steer you past the Heaven 1000: its 25cm gel-foam and 1000-pocket-spring build attracts reports of excessive softness, collapsing edges and sagging at a light weight. Heaven can stay on the shortlist in name only. Compare plain rolled pocket-sprung mattresses for your main bed.
The Space models also demand planning: 34cm for the 2000, 36cm for the 3000 and 38cm for the 4000 mean deep fitted sheets and a high sleeping surface. Several Space 2000 owners describe substantial weight, and an older Cloud owner struggled to move theirs without help. Allow for two people when rotating the deeper models.
