If something doesn't work

Use the contact page or email [email protected]. Tell us:

  • the address of the page
  • what you were trying to do
  • the browser, device or assistive technology you were using

If you need what's on a page in another form, such as plain text in an email, ask for it in the same message.

What is in place

  • Language: Every page declares British English, so a screen reader picks the correct voice.
  • Zoom: Pages don't block zooming, and the layout adjusts to the width of a phone screen.
  • Page regions: The header, the menus, the main content and the footer are marked up as separate regions, and the menus are named for screen readers.
  • Buttons: The menu and search buttons in the header carry a text name for screen readers.
  • Forms: Each field on the contact form has a visible label tied to it.
  • Skip link: The first thing a keyboard reaches on every page is a “Skip to content” link that jumps past the header and menus.
  • Keyboard focus: Links, buttons and form fields show a visible outline when you reach them with the keyboard.
  • Images: Images have a text alternative, or an empty one where the image is decoration.

What doesn't work well yet

  • Generic image descriptions: On product pages, the retailer logos beside reviews and the customer photos share one generic description each.
  • Third-party content: The Doze AI chat runs inside a frame supplied by another company, so we don't control how it behaves with assistive technology.

No audit yet

The site has not had a formal accessibility audit, so we don't claim that it meets any particular standard. The two lists above come from our own checks of the page templates.
