Panda was first formed in 2015 when they found a gap in the market aimed at achieving a premium quality product that is created in an eco-friendly way. The bamboo vision was created as a result of this and they have not looked back since, striving from success to success as they expand their vision and product line further. I’ve had a feel of the Panda bamboo cover in person and it’s properly soft under the hand, more like a smooth jersey than anything rough or papery.
Due to the materials used within the products offered by Panda, the production and creation of products cannot occur in the UK (we do not have that much bamboo!). As a result, most manufacturing against Panda happens in the backwoods of South East Asia. That said, if you’re trying to buy as locally as possible, that overseas manufacturing and shipping footprint might be a bit of a downside.
The bamboo material that is used within Panda products is actually fairly genius, through different manufacturing processes, the bamboo can be luxuriously soft while providing anti-bacterial properties. It’s also hypoallergenic meaning that the products on offer won’t flare up any existing allergies either. When I pressed into one of their pillows, it had that slow, moulding feel you’d expect from memory foam, which is great for some, but if you prefer a bouncier, more traditional pillow it can feel a bit 'stuck in'.
Reviews for Panda protectors, pillows and duvets are generally very good. With 2000 happy customers across review platforms, it’s clear that there is mass market appeal for the brand to grow further over the next few years. Just be aware that bamboo and foam based bedding can sleep a touch warmer than a basic hollowfibre option, especially if you’re already a hot sleeper.
