Why our sleep experts loved it

Slipping into a well-made bed and sinking into the soothing comfort of a quality mattress is, without a doubt, one of life's greatest pleasures. A good mattress can do more than just provide a comfortable night's sleep. It can also improve your mood, overall health, and productivity. In our increasingly hectic world, quality sleep is no longer a luxury; it's vital.

Now, allow me to introduce the Slumberland Air 9.0 Memory Mattress. This mattress isn't just your average night-time companion. It's a sleep-transforming titan, boasting an impressive range of features, designed to tackle all your sleep-related woes, particularly the struggle to stay cool and comfortable throughout the night. With its exclusive 7 Zone Pressure Relieving AIR Memory Foam and its plethora of breathability-boosting features, this mattress is a force to reckon with in the realm of restful rejuvenation.

How we tested

We took our product testing to Bensons for Beds, where the Slumberland Air 9.0 Memory Mattress was subjected to a thorough investigation. Right there in the showroom, we left no stone unturned and no spring untested. From comfort, tension, and firmness tests to edge support analysis and breathability assessment, we did it all. Furthermore, we examined the mattress's response to different sleep positions and weight pressures, testing for both single and partner sleep scenarios. This rigorous testing process provided crucial insights into how this mattress would perform in a variety of real-life situations.

Design and features

The Slumberland Air 9.0 Memory Mattress is a testament to exceptional mattress engineering. It boasts 3050 dual layer pocket springs that individually adapt to body movements, delivering superior responsive support. Sitting atop these springs, you'll discover an exclusive 7 Zone Pressure Relieving Air Memory Foam layer, intelligently contoured to support key body areas and respond to pressure with extraordinary comfort and support.

But that's not all. Breathability is crucial for a comfortable sleep experience, and this mattress reigns supreme in this regard. Its Sensaform memory foam has breathable air channels that are five times more breathable than standard memory foam. This intricate design helps maintain a significantly cooler sleep environment, allowing you to sleep longer and deeper without the discomfort of overheating.

This mattress also features a dynamic reinforced edge support system, ensuring optimal sleep surface right to its edge. It's wrapped up in Temperature+ treated fabric that works throughout the seasons to regulate your body temperature and hydrate your skin. An additional layer of protection against allergies is provided by the Pro-bio treated fabric that helps reduce harmful bacteria and dust mite allergens.

Mattress comfort

After hours of testing and exploration, we can confidently say that the Slumberland Air 9.0 Memory Mattress delivers on its promise of unsurpassed comfort. Whether you're a side sleeper requiring extra cushioning for your hips and shoulders, a stomach sleeper needing firm support, or a back sleeper enjoying the flexibility of options, this mattress has got you covered. Lauded for its medium to firm comfort rating, the mattress hits the sweet spot by providing firm support without compromising the cushiony softness of the top layer.

Suitability

With its firm tension, the Slumberland Air 9.0 Memory Mattress is a great fit for back sleepers and some stomach sleepers. However, it may not suit side sleepers or those with hourglass figures, as they may not find the sinkage they need for a comfortable sleep. Despite this, the natural strength of this mattress in supporting and cushioning the body makes it an enviable choice for all who demand deep, rejuvenating sleep.

What Customers Thought

The Slumberland Air 9.0 Memory Mattress has been showered with praise from its customers. Many have expressed satisfaction with their purchase and have reported significant improvements in sleep quality. Customers particularly appreciated the mattress's responsive support and described it as providing a perfect balance of firmness and softness that contributed immensely to their sleep comfort. They also commended the breathability of the mattress as it helped maintain a cool and comfortable sleep environment, promoting uninterrupted restful sleep. However, some users also pointed out a degree of difficulty in fitting regular sheets due to the mattress's depth.

The verdict

Considering all aspects from design and features to comfort, suitability, and user feedback, the Slumberland Air 9.0 Memory Mattress is genuinely a game-changer in sleep technology. With impressive specifications like 3050 dual layer pocket springs, exclusive 7 Zone Pressure Relieving AIR Memory Foam, Sensaform memory foam with breathable air channels, and a temperature-controlled fabric, this mattress deserves a resounding vote of confidence. Whether you're on a quest for a quick power nap or a long, luxurious night's sleep, this mattress is unequivocally a consistent and competent performer.

Glad we chose this one! It is always a worry when only testing in shop for a few minutes so the 40 nights sleep guarantee was reassuring. Now slept on it for 24 nights and am happy to say that we will be keeping it, really good comfortable nights sleep and feels supportive without being hard/too firm. Quality mattress delivered along with lower height bed base due to the increased depth of the mattress, by polite, efficient Bensons delivery team at the time advised. Only drawback is that our old standard double sheets would have been too skimpy for such a deep mattress, we had thought of this and purchased suitable ones prior to delivery. As with all mattresses with a topper pad no flipping over required, thank goodness as it is very heavy. Just turning around so we are able to rotate it around on base as per instructions.

I purchased a double not a single mattress and, at the time of writing, have been sleeping on it for two weeks. So far it is comfortable but there is no dramatic difference to my sleep or to the pain in my back that I experience each morning on rising. Neither of those may be anything to do with the mattress and are certainly no worse than they were and may be a little better. I was told it took 40 days to get used to a new mattress and I am not near that time yet so the jury is out. I purchased a whole new bed to downsize from a super-king and the additional space in my bedroom is much appreciated together with the fact that I can now turn the mattress unaided. It is clearly a good quality product and the service I have had has been excellent.

What can I say. It cost 1,000+ so I would hope it gave a good nights sleep and it does. Just as good as my 40yrs old one. Not sure about the Clima Airstream gimmick. I still wake up sweating. Also, a little perturbed to read the care instructions state not to sit on the edge of the bed. I'm 65 yrs with chronic lung disease, I walked into Bensons with a walker carrying 2 oxygen tanks. I'm going to spend time on the edge of the bed catching my breath!! The assistant didn't mention anything about where to sit on the mattress at time of purchase. I hope I haven't made an expensive mistake.

Best night's sleep for a very long time, mattress doesn't sag at the sides when you sit on the edge of the bed. The wife needs a step at the side of the bed to get on it, cos she's only got little legs . It relaxes you as soon as you are in bed and aids a quick drop off. Noticed I stay asleep in the same position all night, as I used to wake up several times a night with my last bed. Mostly definitely worth the money, plus it puts you in the mood to redecorate the bedroom before it comes .'

Shortly after I paid for the bed and set a delivery date months later in July, the "How did we do" review requests started Now the bed had arrived and I've slept in it, I can say it's very comfortable, but Bensons really need to start asking for reviews AFTER the deliveries The delivery arrived in a tatty old Harveys van, but there was no issue with the delivery guys, who delivered everything I ordered (pillow, mattress, protectors) as well as collecting the old mattress without any fuss.

I wanted a comfortable & snuggly but supportive mattress as I was waking up with a bad back. This mattress is lovely, it's extremely deep so I feel like the Princess and the pea, but it's great and my back ache is much improved, I no longer have that nagging ache when I wake up. Standard fitted sheets didn't quite reach but extra deep ones are widely available and inexpensive and are comfortably able to cover it.

The service from entering the store to the delivery of the mattress was first class. The salesman advised us knowing exactly what I was looking for. The texts between the store and myself was exactly as promised right to the 30 mins before they arrived. The guys were polite and cheery and were only too happy to help. Once they'd delivered the new mattress they took the old one away.

Delivery was on time and couriers very helpful and careful of our property. However, a reminder to take off the corner packaging would have been helpful. Didnt realise how thick the mattress is - my wife is shortish and it is like a mountaineering adventure for her (she suffers with arthiritis). Mattress itself is comfortable, but we have slept on it for less than 2 weeks.

I've had my new bed & mattress coming up to 4 weeks .. It's a very nice & comfortable mattress BUT as the FITTED KINGSIZE SHEETS DONT FIT PROPERLY AS top of mattress is to thin as fitted sheets are double the depth and we have to make the bed EVERY DAY , we've looked for shorter depth sheets but can't find so it's JUST A LITTLE BIT OF A PAIN to keep sheet in place ..

This is the best mattress we have ever owned and at our ages we have had a few it gives support in all the right places the build is of very good quality the only one down point is why did you only put a handle on one end it makes turning just that bit harder as the mattress is quite heavy and when you get old you need all the help you can get but still a great buy .

So far so good. I've had this mattress 3 weeks so far and it's comfortable. It's very high with the topper so that takes a bit of getting used to as my bed is already quite high off the floor. Summer will be the big test to see how cooling it is. Can't comment on anything else other than Benson's did a good job from start to finish.

A very comfortable mattress, you sink into the top few centimetres then the firm bottom part supports your body keeping your spine straight thus giving a very comfortable good nights sleep. the only downside is the total thickness of the mattress making it quite high, my shortish wife has trouble getting into bed.
