The iGel™ Advance 3500i Plush top Mattress from Bensons for Beds has been designed with the needs of modern sleepers in mind. It is now sold as the iGel™ NanoTech 3500i Plushtop Mattress. The Advance version was on sale until late 2024. With its temperature-regulating technology that allows you to keep cool when it's hot and keep warm when it's cold, it's the perfect sleep aid for those who suffer from aches and pains in their joints. It also provides excellent support, thanks to its dual layer pocket springs encased in foam for premium support. The 3500i dual layer pocket springs provide comfort and durability, whilst the clever iGel™ NanoTech graphene foam provides pressure relief and helps relieve aches and pains.

So who will find this type of mattress suitable? Quite a lot of people frankly, in part thanks to that medium tension on offer through those great quality pocket springs. See, pocket springs are already the best (in my opinion) spring type you can get in a mattress. Combine that with the medium tension and you create widespread appeal as the product will likely suit most average weighted side sleepers, back sleepers and stomach sleepers. The result is a well-rounded product that does a bit of everything really well. It's the same story with the graphene infused memory foam which Bensons now says transfers heat 12 times faster than standard memory foam and in a generous helping too giving you all the benefits of memory foam but with none of the downsides. I really like gel foam options like the one on display here and it works really well.

What about who this product won't suit? From a comfort and support perspective that window is very narrow indeed, but what about from a cost perspective? That's where things get rocky for this product and indeed most of the iGel range. Truth be told this is a premium mattress at a premium price point and not for a penny less. The result is many people may want this mattress, I do too, but not many will be able to afford even with Bensons for Beds generous finance options allowing you to pay later.

The mattress is also made with a more environmentally sustainable formula than your average foam mattresses. It's easy to care for too, as it's non-turn product, meaning that you can rotate the mattress every now and then but you can be less stringent than is typical.

We had high hopes for this mattress after trying it in the shop on more than one occasion and spending hours lying on it. I'm not sure how a mattress can be comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time but this one definitely ticked that box for us. We like a firmer mattress and loved the idea of the plushtop to give it a little bit of comfort too. So we opted for the firm option and eagerly awaited delivery. Unfortunately even in firm when you try to sleep on the mattress it's very soft. We were rolling together in the dip it created in the middle (we aren't heavy people either). The sides have the superior edge support which unfortunately all it does is accentuate how soft the rest of the mattress it so you feel like you are sleeping on a constant slope. At the end of the 40 day trial Bensons allow, we were so sore from back ache and never once had a good nights sleep, sometimes ending up on the sofa for the night! So we have had to pay the fee to get the mattress changed.

It's always difficult choosing a new mattress. We had a Tempur for over a decade and loved it, but it got to the stage where we just didn't move in the night, and woke up a little achy. So we decided to try something else. This mattress is very comfortable, has some bounce, but not too much, very deep and heavy but comfortable. I don't know why but my body just doesn't like it. For the first time ever I am waking up with quite bad lower back pain, so much so that often I just have to get out of bed (I do like my lie ins but with this mattress it's not possible). My wife finds it very comfy but also has a few pains in the morning. It's a real shame, we have tried it and didn't give it back after the trial period, we now wish we had as it simply doesn't suit our bodies. I think maybe it's a little too firm even though it feels soft. Not sure, but for us - so comfortable, just a shame I wake up in pain every morning and am going to have to change it after spending so much.

The fabric and overall build is good quality, the mattress is heavy and that is reassuring aligned to the expensive cost. We bought a firm mattress after testing in the shop, but have found some softening in the core areas of sleep and to the sides to which we get in and out of bed. I guess that is normal as beds settle but is a bit disappointing given the mattress expense as was hoping the firmness would remain for longer than a few weeks and does have my wife and I feeling like we are leaning away from each other due to dips. The bed is also meant to be temperature controlling, but I can't say have noticed any difference to previous mattress on that front and we both still as hot as always have been. 3 star rating mainly given in basis of perceived poor value for money, an expensive bed with much promise, but temperature controlling not great and firmness as softened after only a month

I couldn't be happier with this mattress. From the very first night, the comfort was noticeable. It provides the perfect balance of softness and support, so you feel cradled without sinking in too much. It genuinely feels like it adapts to your body, which has made a huge difference to my sleep quality. One of the standout features is how cooling it is. I tend to overheat at night, but this mattress stays pleasantly cool and breathable, even during warmer nights. No more flipping the pillow for a cold side. It maintains a comfortable temperature all the way through. The motion isolation is also incredible. My partner and I have very different sleep schedules, and I'm a light sleeper, but I barely feel them move at all. No more being woken up by tossing, turning, or getting in and out of bed. It really does allow both of us to sleep peacefully without disturbing each other.

We're enjoying having a good night's sleep again! It's very comfortable once getting used to having a new mattress. I'm glad we opted for the plushtop otherwise I feel it may have been too firm for me. We wake in the morning feeling relaxed and without any aches and pains which is a bonus! My husband suffers with back pain and it seems to have helped him. We've not really noticed the iGel cooling effect but perhaps that will come more into play in the summer months. The only negatives I would attribute would be the chemical smell it gives off after installing. Something to be aware if you have breathing issues. The only other thing is it's quite high ( it's a bit like climbing Mount Everest to get into bed now) That's probably down to us though due to the height of the divan we already have.

I literally went into the store 10 times to try mattresses before narrowing it down to the 3000 or 3500 iGel. Oddly in the 3000 my preference was the soft but in the 3500 it was the firm. The side support and pillow top on the 3500 is far better than on the 3000 so for not a lot more I opted for the 3500 firm. When it arrived I nearly sent it straight back as it was rock solid but my wife encouraged me to at least try it for a few days. In fairness the delivery lorry would have been freezing and maybe this affected the gel and made it feel solid. After 5-6 hours of being on the bed and warming up the mattress was as per the one in the showroom. I've had it 3 weeks now and I love it. Yes I could have got a slightly cheaper mattress but I'm worth it and glad I went for the 3500 pillow top.

Just like sleeping on a cloud! Would highly recommend. We had our old very expensive bed for many years and were suffering from pain in hips and shoulders, and achy backs. The gel NanoTech has surpassed our expectations. So comfortable, no hip or shoulder pain in the night and many of the little niggling aches and pains that you get in the day ( and blame on ageing) have vanished. No rolling into one other in the night either. Also a concern for us was lack of deep support, we have slept in memory foam beds in hotels in the past, and although they are comfortable once you are in, turning over or getting in and out is difficult. Not with the iGel however, the topping is soft and supportive, but firm enough to easily climb in and out. Delighted with our purchase.

The first nights sleep was a little weird, but our previous mattress was so much softer than this one. We brought this mattress to hopefully help with our back and neck pain. We also brought the igel side sleeper pillows. 3 weeks of use and neither of us wake up in pain anymore! The only draw back would be the commitment to rotate the mattress every single week for the first 3 months to help the gel settle evenly, but we see the mattress as an investment for our overall health so we want to protect that investment. Just bare in mind that the mattress is very heavy. We are so pleased with our purchase, and the sales team at Bensons were amazing at helping us chose the perfect mattress and firmness.

We purchased this mattress as a replacement after my wife had a replacement hip, our 4 year one mattress was now too hard. I tried the iGel NanoTech 3500i Plushtop Mattress in store and it seemed soft with the memory foam topper. Delivery was great, only 7 days. The new mattress arrived, but seemed harder than the one in the store, we gave it 3 weeks, still too hard, wife not sleeping, I contacted customer services, who without hesitation arrange for us to exchange for a different mattress under there forty night guarantee. A new mattress is now on order, only really had to paid redelivery cost as the new mattress is reduced in the January sales. Great service would use again.

I am pleased that I bought this mattress because my previous 3 year old mattress was causing me a lot of back pain and this new mattress gives me much better support. I have only had it for about a month so it's early days. As well as boasting of being cooler in the summer (which I have yet to experience) I find it retains the heat in the winter much better than my previous mattress. It is very deep so I had to buy deeper fitted sheets than I previously owned. Turning it around every week has been a lot easier than I expected (I am disabled and, as a consequence, I'm not as strong as I used to be) but it is manageable provided you don't pull it off the base too far.

Overall i'm not impressed with the mattress I was sold from Bensons. The guy sold me your product on the basis that it had cooling technology. In my opinion, this is just a lie to get people to purchase! I certainly wouldn't recommend this product. The aftercare service is also non existent. I'm still waiting for a call back after three weeks even though they promised a call within a week. This long awaited call is to try and sell me yet another product that they say "might help" The jury is out as it stands I'm a very unsatisfied customer.

Quite simply the best mattress we have ever slept on! Genuinely it's like sleeping on a supporting cloud. We went through a saga of multiple mattress trying to find the right one (Dormeo - Sagged / Silentnight - Springs protruding out the sides / Nectar - Sleeping on a bed of bricks) and finally we have absolute comfort. We should have gone to Bensons from the start! Highly recommend for waking up with that refreshed feeling, it's a utter pleasure to go to sleep at night. Yes, it's got a high price tag but it is worth every single penny!

An absolutely comfortable mattress. So glad that we bought it from Bensons and Ryan!! He knew exactly what he was talking about. He listened to our needs, health concerns and directed us to this beautiful mattress. It has helped my body so much and I don't always wake up in excruciating pain. We bought a firm bed but we feel it is too soft and makes a dip when we sleep . Evnthough we were excited about the bed now we are disappointed. We didn't want a bed that dips down in our body shape instead we were hoping for a firm bed.We are still turning it around on a regular basis but nothing has changed. 10 years ago I had bought 3 mattresses from benson and loved it , we still have the other two in good condition. But this was a disappointment. Sorry for the poor feedback. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone

Have never had a firm mattress before so was nervous about it arriving, but it's comfy , only problem I've found is that I picked this mattress as I have menapause symptoms and was wanting something cooler, as it states on the advertisement about the mattress adjusting to your body temperature but if anything I'm hotter now than ever, making it difficult to sleep, so I am dreading the summer months if it's been like this during winterI'm still under my 40 days so I'm reluctant to change it if I'm truely honest.

We absolutely love our iGel!! Originally we wanted to opt for an alternative brand, but after spending time at our local store and providing all our requirements to the advisor, this was the first option presented to us. We tried 6 other options but kept coming back to the iGel. We have had it over a month now and most aches and pains have reduced and we are both sleeping through the night now. The new mattress is very comfortable and I am very pleased with it. I was surprised that in Your instructions for use you advise not to sit on the edge of the bed, so I shall now have to buy a suitable seat to sit on when I put on my socks, or continue to put them on in the bathroom! I am also very pleased with the new bed frame, which has 4 drawers. Two of the drawers have a smaller width so they can still be used despite having bed side chests of drawers each side of the bed.

I purchased this iGel Matree we have now used it for more than 3 weeks. We have followed the guidelines and rotated every week. Have found this a chore and would advise this extends the time to get used to the mattress BUT hope it will extend the life as per the guidelines. Would suggest that the mattress is retested to see if monthly rotation is acceptable. Despite this niggle I would recommend others to purchase this mattress.

What a wonderful mattress! I normally wake up with aches and pains in my shoulder joint and legs, so its a pleasure to wake up pain free! Also, i have night sweats and this has reduced them enormously! I would recommend this wonderful mattress to anyone. Absolutely amazing nights sleep. I've tried memory foam toppers for comfort but they don't even come close. My wife suffers with Spondylitis which is a spinal condition and she hasn't slept well for a number of years. But after a week to get used to our new bed she's sleeping really well and that makes such a difference to the rest of her day. I would thoroughly recommend this mattress to anyone

This is my 2nd igel bed in the last 8 years, the first was great but this is better, it's so comfortable, and temperature regulating, yes it appears expensive but if you break the cost in to amount of nights / hours over 8 years it really is great value for money for something so important to give you a good nights sleep, and you can get it on interest free if you need, my cat loves it too !!

I have had my mattress for 3 weeks now. There is still a faint chemical smell but it is has I become fainter over the weeks. I am very pleased with the support. It is firm but just right. One little niggle is that it does get warm I do worry that it might be uncomfortable in the summer months. It is super cosy now and I am pleased with my purchase. The delivery guys were very efficient.

Happy with purchase. Not sure about the igel top finish being cool. Currently feels quite warm. The depth of mattress is concerning as our kingsize sheets don't seem to fit as well. Maybe then mattress will settle over time and the sheets will fit better. Very comfortable overall. Mattress does rotate . Providing you use both hand grips on mattress.

A truly wonderfully comfortable bed, so glad we chose it, I never thought I'd opt for a firm mattress but because the top layer is so moulding it's a great bed to sleep in . Took a long time choosing this mattress and have no regrets. Delivery team set it up. Left it to air for a few days and although reviews I'd read said it may seem firmer at first, I've settled right in. The most comfortable mattress I've ever had, great for sore joints. I'm definitely sleeping better at night. Would recommend.

Really happy with the mattress. But disappointed when we ordered the mattress to be delivered in 11 days. To then be told very close to the delivery date it wouldn't be until a few days before christmas. Which was close to a month from order. This mattress is the most comfortable mattress I have slept on, I'm so pleased we decided to go for a igel nano tech soft touch. Had this 3 weeks now. It's advertised as firm, but after lying on it for this time, it's pretty soft compared to a firm mattress so I'm a bit disappointed and honestly wouldn't buy it again. You rotate the mattress, but after a few days, it's soft again, not firm. It's comfy enough, but not firm!

Comfortable and affords itself to a good nights sleep. It's always a worry when purchasing a new mattress as there is a concern it won't be as good /comfortable as the previous one but this one didn't disappoint. The only downside is that sitting on the edge of the mattress is not recommended.

So far I have been impressed by this mattress, it is much more supportive and enjoyable than our last mattress. Definitely turn it weekly for the first few months while it settles. We actually enjoy getting into bed now and struggle getting out in the morning as it is so comfortable.

Lovely and comfortable, would buy again. I hope it lasts as long as our old, very similar, one I think paying extra to have it taken to your bedroom is a rip off (where else would you put it?) Also having to pay to have your old one taken away, after spending over 1000 is also poor

Soft and comfortable to touch , feels lovely and cool. At first although comfortable to sleep on my back ached when getting up ,but having had this mattress for 3 weeks now all is well . No back ache now and I have a wonderful sleep every night. Well worth the money spent.

I have received my giel mattress last week and whilst the comfort is amazing I have realised it's not 5ft wide as a traditional King Size and really notice the difference There are gaps either side of the frame so I know it's smaller than the last mattress from Bensons . !

Have slept on this new mattress for several weeks now. We have found it very comfortable. The only problem we have found is turning it as recommended, we are both in our eighties and find it very heavy especially as the instructions say not too use the handles!

Absolutely stunning, never slept better. The gel top lets you sink into the bed but the firm mattress below gives support. Would highly recommend. Keeps me at just the right temperature too. It is a very deep mattress so you will need extra deep sheets to fit.

It is certainly comfortable. The sidewalls may be overly firm, causing you to roll toward the middle of the bed. As for the nanotech business, we haven't really noticed any improvement over our previous mattress, which probably makes it seem overly expensive.

Going to bed is a treat now. I love the height of the mattress as you literally have to climb in to bed. Sleep has improved and no aches and pains when I wake up I still got hot at night so not sure the igel takes all the heat away. That's the only negative

Our new bed is excellent. Really comfortable I get out of bed without any pain like I used to have with my old bed it is really comfortable. I'll be it a little high, but we both love it. We will recommend it to anyone it was expensive but worth every penny.

I keep a 18c bedroom with 4.5tog duvet during winter and I've been waking up with beads of sweat wherever I've been in contact with the mattress. I'd hate to think what this mattress is like during summer! I'm using the 40 day rule to exchange it.

Mattress is awesome, it's comfortable and cool. You can feel very little movement when your partner turns over, which is awesome if your partner wriggles in bed all night! It's definitely on the pricier side, but I think that cost is justified.

Second igel mattress in 10yrs and it doesn't disappoint. Best quality and support we've found. Went for another brand elsewhere and ended up sending back as just doesn't match up to the igel. Expensive but absolutely worth it. Don't hesitate!

Awful mattress. Sinks to the middle after 6 months. Way too soft to be a firm mattress. Benson Customer Service just don't care. They want evidence of the sinking without anyone on the mattress Therefore warranty isn't worth squat.
