Igel

iGel mattresses are exclusive to Bensons for Beds and generally sit in the more executive and luxury lineup. Pricing may be higher than other products but the materials utilised within the mattresses more than makes up for this. Featuring support layers of pocket springs and comfort layers of gel, you get a cooling experience with full body contouring and fantastic longevity. iGel and Bensons for Beds have a history of providing good quality mattresses that last and have some of the best reviews in the industry.

Eve

Eve Sleep emerged in 2014 as a prominent online retailer specializing in mattresses and sleep accessories. The company gained recognition for its innovative approach to mattress design and marketing, offering a range of products aimed at enhancing sleep quality. In 2022, Eve Sleep was acquired by Bensons for Beds, further solidifying its position in the sleep products market.

Eve Sleep's product lineup includes various mattress types, such as memory foam and hybrid models, catering to diverse sleep preferences. Notably, the company introduced the "Wunderflip" mattress, designed to offer two levels of firmness by simply flipping it over, allowing users to customize their sleep experience.  Additionally, Eve Sleep provides a 200-night trial period, enabling customers to thoroughly test their mattresses.

Igel Owner Satisfaction

Satisfaction is important to both Bensons for Beds and their iGel lineup. Being at the top of brands through the site, the manufacturer is held in high regard and is well reviewed by thousands of happy customers. Customers particularly enjoy the comfort layer which they say offers a cooling experience over equivalent memory foam alternatives. This is because gel breathes better and doesn’t cause heat buildup giving a better all-season mattress that performs well regardless of the weather.

I’ve personally trialled some of the iGel range in store and found some of the tensions to be on the firmer side, in-line with the designation the mattresses have been given. Regardless of which you choose, customers should be satisfied with the tension of the product.

Igel Supportiveness

The support on iGel mattresses is not derived from the gel layer as this is the comfort layer at the top, instead the support is offered from the pocket springs beneath. Pocket springs are universally fantastic and are my personal favourite when it comes to support systems. The result of this layer is an extremely supportive mattress regardless of which tension you choose, offering full body contouring with an impressive lifespan and increased breathability.

Igel Durability

Most mattresses have a traditional 1 year warranty and that is normally a fairly reasonable indicator as to how much trust the manufacturer has in their product. Naturally the better the components, the more durable they are and as such, manufacturers have more confidence in their lifespan and will guarantee them for longer. With iGel, not only are you getting high quality pocket springs combined with luxurious gel layers, but you are also getting a 10 year guarantee on all new mattresses coming out of the lineup. This goes a long way towards highlighting the durability of these mattresses and the lengths the manufacturer is going to in order to ensure long-standing satisfaction.

With a 10 year guarantee you will exceed the average lifecycle of 7 years, giving you better value and reducing the cost per night of sleep throughout its lifespan. As a result, while an iGel mattress may cost more initially, the need to replace later decreases real world costs.

Eve Owner Satisfaction

Satisfaction with Eve Sleep mattresses remains high, with a solid score at the time of writing. Many owners praise the balanced comfort and support, particularly in the brand’s hybrid models, which combine foam and pocket springs for a responsive yet cushioned feel. Unlike some all-foam mattresses, Eve’s construction helps to minimise heat retention, with breathable layers designed to promote airflow throughout the night. That said, a handful of users have noted that the firmer models can take some getting used to, especially for those accustomed to softer sleep surfaces.

When it comes to pressure relief and spinal alignment, Eve mattresses generally receive positive feedback, particularly from those with back issues. The medium-firm options tend to provide good lumbar support, while the softer models cater well to side sleepers who need more contouring. However, some users have mentioned that edge support isn’t as strong as they’d like, meaning there can be a slight dip when sitting on the side of the bed. Despite this, the overall consensus is that Eve Sleep delivers a well-balanced sleeping experience, blending comfort and support in a way that suits a wide range of sleepers.

Eve Supportiveness

Eve Sleep mattresses are renowned for their exceptional support, attributed to the innovative use of high-quality foams and, in their hybrid models, full-sized pocket springs. The Original Hybrid Mattress, for instance, features over 800 individually wrapped 12 cm springs that respond to the body's movements, providing targeted pressure relief for the shoulders and hips. These springs are complemented by Eve's proprietary evecomfort® foam layer, which offers a springy feel to support key pressure points and maintain spinal alignment. This combination ensures a harmonious balance of support and body contouring, catering to various sleeping positions.

Eve Durability

Eve Sleep mattresses feature polyester covers, known for their soft, stretchy, and breathable finish. This type of cover provides a reasonable level of durable protection, contributing to the overall longevity of the mattress. User feedback indicates general satisfaction with the expected lifespan, and while the Eve lineup is relatively new, the bed-in-a-box mattress market has established a reputation for durability comparable to traditional mattresses. Considering that the average mattress lasts about 7 years, we have no concerns regarding the performance and durability of the current Eve lineup.

I recently purchased the Gel Nanotechnology 4000i Plush Top Mattress from Bensons for Beds, and I am absolutely thrilled with my choice. From the moment I tested it in-store, I knew this mattress was something special. The plush top is luxuriously soft, while the gel nanotechnology adapts to my body's contours, providing both comfort and optimal support. The cooling technology is a major highlight - it keeps me cool and comfortable throughout the night, which is perfect for warmer evenings. Despite the softness, the mattress still offers incredible support, allowing me to wake up without any back pain. I'm sleeping more soundly than ever before! The quality and craftsmanship of this mattress are undeniable, and I can already tell it's built to last. I've been getting better, more restorative sleep since making the switch, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase from Bensons for Beds. If you're in the market for a luxurious mattress that provides both comfort and support, I highly recommend the Gel Nanotechnology 4000i Plush Top from Bensons for Beds. It's truly a game-changer for anyone seeking a perfect night's sleep!

We recently purchased the iGel NanoTech 4000i Plushtop Mattress, and after spending some nights on it, I can confidently say it has transformed my sleep quality. The Plushtop design offers a luxurious, cloud-like feel while still providing excellent support. It's soft enough to relieve pressure points but firm enough to keep my spine aligned properly. Whether sleeping on my back, side, or stomach, it adapts well without sinking too much. I tend to overheat at night, but this mattress does a great job of regulating temperature, preventing me from waking up sweaty. The cooling gel infusion helps dissipate body heat, making it perfect for warm rooms. If you share your bed, this mattress minimises movement exceptionally well. Even when my partner moves or gets in and out of bed, I barely feel any disturbance. This is a huge plus for light sleepers! The materials feel high-quality, and the overall construction appears very durable. A great mattress that we are both very pleased with!

I tried several mattresses in the shop but this one appeared to give me the right support I was looking for on the spine/lower back. It was more than I initially budgeted for, but I can't put a price on anything that relieves my permanent back pain. I chose a divan style bed as again, it's easier for me to get in/out of bed than some of the lower height frames. I've waited 3 weeks before writing this review to ensure that I made a more accurate assesment of it the mattress performance. Where it scores well are on two key points. 1. It has helped to lessen the discomfort of my severe back pain, caused by an RTA. 2. It helps regulate my body's sleeping temperature. Normally, I'm cold when I get into bed then heat up quickly, often being too hot when sleeping! I find this bed a good ambient temperature. The mattress has a number of care instructions but hopefully by following them, I will get the most out of it. No regrets at all about my purchase.

We had been sleeping quite badly for a few months and when it was finally time to move house, we ordered our new bed with the 6000i NanoTech plushtop mattress. It was delivered on time by two very kind and helpful delivery chaps who took it up to the room of our choice. We slept so well that night and have had it now for almost a month. We both wake up refreshed and we are not waking through the night at all. It has to be the most comfortable bed/mattress we have ever bought. We purchased it online after viewing in the shop - we did manage to get additional discounts (more online than in the shop) and the numerous times we ended up changing the delivery date never seemed to be an issue, it was so easy to do online and select the date of choice. Would highly recommend this bed/mattress 5* Bensons! If you are sitting on the fence, get off and get down to the showroom and place your order, you will not regret it!!!

5 Louise B

The mattress feels quite firm when you first get on it, but it quickly moulds to the shape of your body giving you the right amount of support. The only criticism I have is not with the mattress itself but I opted to take out the insurance cover which includes a mattress protector "worth 70" which you HAVE to use one if you want to send it back within the 40 days, however, the mattress protector you get with the cover is made out of 100% polyester!!! Considering we bought the iGel due to me being peri-menopausal & wanting it to keep me cool, it did the opposite with the protector on as polyester is not breathable. I spent the first 2 nights waking up sweating cobs & wondering why until we realised it was the protector! How are you supposed to see if a product works when you have to cover it up??? Anyway, another 25 later on a 100% cotton mattress protector, the bed is lovely to sleep on!

We absolutely love this mattress as it's so comfortable. It feels really firm when you first get into bed, like it's just to hard, but as it warms with your body heat it softens where you are lying, making it really comfortable. Great for a bad back or anyone who like a firmer bed. The only downside is our fitted sheets slide and bunch up through the night and even having bought some elasticated bed clips it's still an issue. Not sure if taking the removable cover off and just using a mattress protector would better? Either way it doesn't detract much from it being the best mattress we've ever had and at the price was considerably cheaper than our last one, making it excellent value for money too. All in all I would definitely recommend it for anyone needing a firm mattress or anyone with back issues. We sleep so well that I wish we'd bought it earlier, but are very happy to have it now.

I can't say enough good things about this mattress! From the first night, I noticed a huge difference in my sleep quality. The perfect balance of comfort and support keeps me feeling well-rested and free of aches in the morning. It contours to my body just right, without feeling too soft or too firm. Another big plus is that it stays cool throughout the night-no more overheating or tossing and turning! The materials feel high-quality, and even after weeks of use, there's no sagging or loss of support. If you're looking for a mattress that will improve your sleep and overall well-being, this is the one to get. Highly recommend!

Finally, a mattress that is perfect for me! It's rock hard, to the point that when you sit on it, it feels like sitting on a brick wall, BUT when you lie on it, you settle into a really comfy, but firm mattress. This is the 4th mattress in less than 8 years, and the first one where I wake up without back pain. I'm definitely supported, and it feels amazing! I also bought the side sleeper pillow, which also feels rock hard, until you settle in, and as if by magic, my chronic neck pain has gone. I rarely write reviews, but this is very much worth it. AMAZING

The mattress and bed is amazing, but the company sucks! Customer service was dreadful, I had to send back a gel mattress because it wouldn't go up my stairs. I was told I would have to pay over 100 re stocking fee even though I measured the stairs according to their emails and it fit! And I even bought a more expensive mattress in the end! I couldn't cancel the order and go elsewhere to the numerous other mattress firms, because Benson said they would keep 20% of the 2800 I paid! I will never recommend them to anyone.

I love this bed now that it's broken in. Initially it didn't feel right and not medium enough for me but I have been fine on it especially when on a flat surface. Not recommended for use with wide poorly made slats. It gets very hot so I had to remove the mattress protection for added comfort and air circulation. I'd probably buy a mattress from here again but my overall experience wasn't that great so it's a slim chance. *The frame in my attached photo is not recommended, this mattress didn't pair well together*
