Many years ago we had a pocket sprung mattress and we replaced it with memory foam, the single most miss guided purchase we have ever made. We believed the hype the benefits etc, it was like night and day moving from pocket sprung to memory foam, it was hot, restrictive and less supportive. But we lasted 2 years on it with sore backs and necks. Dreams sale comes round for black Friday and I see an advert for the Annison pocket sprung mattress at an amazing offer price. We didn't even try it out before we bought it, because we just wanted back to pocket sprung, now there is a memory topper built in and to be honest it's more like the older quilted feel but with a modern material. Build quality is great, comfort is so much better (medium) we feel that we can rest and relax instead of over heating and being held in place. Our overall experience with Dreams has been great, we ordered the mattress and it did 5 to 7 days delivery, but we received an email stating 5 to 7 weeks. Which was disappointing. But we received a second email saying we would were getting our mattress and the drivers would call us for timings. 10 days later we have our new mattress and the old one uplifted. The delivery guys were really nice and considerate using over shoes when coming in to our house, they were efficient and friendly nothing else you could of asked for.

I ordered this mattress in mid-December, for delivery just before Christmas. Not surprisingly, given the nationwide driver shortage, I didn't get it until just after. Not the fault of Dreams, who were very apologetic and were able to deliver it before the New Year. The delivery team were on time, contacted me in advance, and took all necessary Covid precautions and carpet protection procedures, as well as being really personable and competent. Full marks to them. Now that I have it and have used it I can confidently say that it is living up to expectations. It is firm without being hard and has just enough "give" to feel comfortable whilst supporting well, whatever sleeping position I have been in. I've had issues with back problems, when lying on my back, in the past. That has not happened so far with the Annison so I am hopeful that problems will not develop in the future. The quality of manufacturing seems really good, considering the price in comparison with may competitors. I've not found any loose threads or missed stitching at all. All in all very good value for money, I think.

Having recently tried a pure memory foam mattress (after decades with a sprung mattress), which was both too firm and smelled awful, I wanted to go back to what I was used to. With a limited budget, I was recommended this combination mattress, which is mostly sprung with a layer of foam on top. This mattress is nice and soft (I am a side sleeper) and it is easy to roll out of it in the morning, though this could also be a bit of a minus for people who are prone to moving around a lot in their sleep. My biggest problem with it is still the smell. I am very sensitive to smells, and despite airing the mattress for a day before sleeping on it the chemical smell gave me a sore throat and a headache within minutes of lying down. It's better now after a fortnight of airing it out during the day, but it hasn't gone entirely. So if you are sensitive to smells like me, you might want to try another mattress unless you're willing to stick it out and wait for the chemicals to disappear. If this kind of thing doesn't bother you, then it's a decent, comfortable mattress.

Since this mattress was discontinued I tried a similar mattress in store (I believe the successor to this mattress). The in-store staff were incredibly helpful, not pushy, didn't hover over me pressing me for information and intimidating me, which is very important when doing any big ticket purchase. The bed was delivered all great, friendly polite team, took shoes off when they came in, despite it being a dry day outside. As for the mattress, it's very comfortable, it's only for a guest room so I am pleased with it for it's purpose. I would say thought that there is some clicking noises when initially sitting or laying on the bed in places. Oddly if I stand up and sit back down again the clicking it gone, but then might appear somewhere else on the bed. It's as if the springs are still settling or something?Not had it with my Sleepeezee mattress which was very expensive so maybe you just get what you pay for? If there was no clicking it would be a 5 star, but I've knocked a star off for this reason

The Isabella Platform Ottoman Bed Frame is quite simply stunning. Very elegant and with more than enough storage (cough..to fit my stupidly growing trainer collection, and of course bedding!). My sister had purchased this for her new posh bedroom loft-conversion. I was so impressed with its striking rectangle head board design, I bought the same frame for my new flat. It rests beautifully against my royal blue feature wall. A true adults bed. What's really impressive is how sturdy it feels, including accessing the spring-loaded storage. No difficulty or annoying creaks at all. This is definitely of high quality and excellent value. I paid for the service to get this built, including dispsal of my old mattress. Exceptional service - on time, very friendly guys who got it built in no time. No stress. Highly recommended! The mattress bundle with this frame is also very impressive and value for money. I bought this for our spare bedroom - its not easy finding small double mattress's at the best of times. I also have a really bad back - problems for over 30 years so I am not the easiest person to buy beds for. Due to needing a small double I was limited with choice, but I have been really surprised by this. First of all - my main bed has a 1300 mattress so of course it isnt going to compare to that, but (due to husband snoring!) I have had some really good nights sleep on this. It is firmer than I would go for - I normally like a cloud - but it isnt uncomfortable at all. I have a topper on it from John Lewis which helps as well I think. It It doesnt rock or wobble like some cheaper models - and you cant feel the springs. Overall I would rate this a 4 out of 5, but for the price it is 5* all the way. Pleasantly surprised by this and if you didnt have such a rickety old back as mine, then I can see it being perfect for most people.

I bought this mattress during lockdown so admittedly didn't get to try it in store which was a shame but had just moved so didn't have much choice! Didn't want a memory foam one so went with the Annison pocket sprung and thought one layer of memory foam would provide perfect balance of comfort. This is a very comfortable mattress indeed, no faults there when reading in bed or lounging around but for someone who runs hot it hasn't been the best experience as the memory foam layer seems to really retain heat during the night. So I'd say perfect if you like to be really warm and cosy (like most people, I feel like an anomaly!) but if you get hot in the night then probably best to avoid the memory foam layer ones. I also bought on the sale price which was excellent. I also cannot fault the service which has been excellent, I am having it exchanged for something more suitable with the guarantee.

After years on an old wornout mattress we decided to splash out on a new one, so it began we brought an all singing memory foam from a well know brand which is now used in a spare room. At first it was great but soon we found it too hot to sleep comfortably also the edges offered little support to the point i would nearly fall out of bed. Now to the Annison pocket sprung we wanted a mattress that would support a 6st female and a 14st male with no roll together, one that wouldn't cook you and didn't try to eject you if you got too near to the edge, tick, tick, tick we went for a medium firm, so far both of us have had the best sleep ever, the icing on the cake was the price, bought from Dreams ebay clearance store for under 200 as many will ateste you can walk into a store try many mattresses and still make the wrong choice buying online was a gamble but turned out really well.

40 years on one mattress? Ok so it was a good one and well looked after but what to replace it with. Major investment. Then again, memory foam ? Single or double sided? How firm did we really need? Dreams had an offer on the Annison. Going into retirement did we want to keep turning a heavy king sized mattress. Just rotating seemed much better. Swiftly delivered by friendly Dreams staff plus we took the free mattress topper too. First impressions? Medium firmness perfect on a slatted base, excellent isolation from partners movements and really good support. Just enough memory foam to give the body hugging effect with the pocket springs doing most of the support work. Well worth the money. Downside maybe a bit too warm, definitely a different feel to our old felt padded orthopaedic mattress. Do we sleep well on it? Oh yes, very pleased with it.

I recently purchased the Annison mattress for use in the master bedroom. I have been sleeping on it now for over a month and I must say it's the best mattress I've ever had. The quality of the material is impressive, the mattress is durable yet still soft to the touch. The memory foam is exceptional and provides a firm supportive nights sleep, while still providing an incredible level of comfort. It is not too intrusive or hard, and balances comfort with support well. I am usually a very light sleeper and struggle to get a decent restive sleep, but this mattress has genuinely changed my life with its quality and softness, and now I manage a full deep sleep every night and wake feeling refreshed and without any aches. I simply cannot recommend the Annison enough to those of you seeking a new mattress!

After about an hour of bouncing around on mattress after mattress in the shop, we eventually found one that made both me and the missus say "yep-feels great"! placed our order( bonus-was in the sale too!) and it was delivered just a few days later at a time picked to suit. First night on it was a little strange to be honest- and it took a few more nights to get used to the feeling but after 3 weeks...wow. What a difference it has made-not waking up feeling tired anymore, no fidgetting about getting comfy when getting into bed- it's just brilliant. There's very little disturbance to either of us if the other gets out of bed-movement across the whole mattress is muted and silent(no creaking springs!). Found out via another review very recently that this model is one of the best selling ones-very easy to see why.

Answer: If you suffer from back pain, we would recommend popping into your local store to try out some different mattresses as you will need to be sure the comfort is suitable for your back. Answer: Unfortunately we do not have a direct upgrade for the Fantasy mattress. However the Annison has a memory foam layer and is a medium comfort grade which the Fantasy had, but the springs are pocket sprung and the Fantasy was open sprung.
