Newark Oak Small Bookcase

Lovely solid piece of furniture for my little boys bedroom. Houses his smaller paper back books & ornament type items look nice on top. Chosen as on website it said fully assembled, although delivery guy said it was flat pack when he brought it. I'd ordered a chest of drawers too & paid the extra to have them taken up to room of my choice & packaging taken away. As he'd informed me this item was now flat pack I thought I'd better keep the box. When he'd gone I opened it & it was fully assembled as I thought! Think he needs to get his facts right before he delivers next time! Cotswold Co did refund me 1 for the packaging not being taken away on that.

Quite good quality and value for money but will not hold much more than paperbacks. I wanted this small bookcase for a corner near my chair just to hold a few normal size hardback reference books. The space between the shelves is too small for the books to stand but laying them down is not what I want due to dexterity problems. I did concider returning the item but the cost of doing so was prohibitive and now I have recycled the packaging. An expensive mistake. Please listen to this and make sure you show the internal dimensions of the shelves. Thank you.

Just the ticket for a bedroom bookcase. Keeps books tidy and off the floor and the flat base makes for a stable set of shelves. This oak shelving would work really well in most rooms as the oak finish is a lovely neutral shade that would complement most colour schemes. Not too large to be in the way and I use mine to as parking spot for a small TV. Delivery team helpful and courteous as ever with Cotswold. As with my previous review, this is not my first Cotswold purchase which speaks for itself in terms of the quality of service from Cotswold.

Arrived Really well packaged, exactly the same colour as the wood sample I previously received and looks exactly like the pictures shown. It is strong and sturdy but smart, stylish and well made too. So hard to find a good small bookcase but if that is what you are looking for then look no further you will not be disappointed. If you have tall books or childrens picture books they are not going to fit upright on the shelves so check your dimentions before you order.

Like another review the back panel is not as it looks in the picture. It is flimsy panel which are very noticeable. The rest is solid wood and very substantial. Low stars for build quality because of the panels which I though would be a solid piece of wood. I had waited 5 weeks for it so decided to keep it. Delivery good as I had arranged for it to be left in a secure place. I could not wait in all day 7:00am to 6:00 pm

Definitely 5 star in each category! This is our second small bookcase and makes a perfect pair! Delivery was odd though. I had a phone call and several emails about delivery on Monday December 17th and warnings about extra charge if we were not in resulting in a second delivery date but, in fact, it arrived without warning on Saturday, December 15th. Luckily we were at home! Perhaps better synchronisation would help!

Fantastic book case for the money.Ive polished mine with a little wax absolutly brillient now. my only jibe is the delivery charges i paid over 30.00 to have delivered and found the delivey details when ordering confusing i thought id paid for quick delivey and i hadt when the team called to advise me on delivery they asked for another 9.99 which i thought was out of order...However love the book case

This bookcase was out of stock for weeks, but I am so glad I was patient and waited for them to be available. I ordered a pair for either side of my fireplace, the space is quite small but they look absolutely perfect. The quality is good, they are light to move but feel solid and I can display paperbacks easily. Everyone has complimented on them and the price paid was very reasonable.

This is such a laugh, I have had 4, yes 4 failed deliveries for this piece of furniture and have been told it will arrive this week!!! I have had other orders arrive by other delivery companies but it seems DPD are incompetent. I think Cotswold need to take a good look at who they use for their deliveries. I have had 4 wasted days off work to wait in for them and am not very happy

Looks exactly like the photo. Good quality, good price. Very well packaged and speedy free delivery. No complaints. Thank you. So much better than buying a cheaper flatpack. It's in my hall in my flat, just the right size for putting my keys etc on when I've just come in and having a few ornaments, books or things that need posting etc on.

just perfect, this is absolutely as per the picture, the quality and colour exceptionally good. I needed a small bookcase as the one I had was too big for the space I had available. so I needed a smaller piece of furniture to put a couple of ornaments and photos on. I choose this and I'm so glad I did, I would absolutely recommend this

Delighted with product and prompt delivery, it seems good value for money, but disappointed that it came from China. Although you dont say so the whole picture you creat suggests it is made in Cotswolds and made in this country. Nevertheless it does what it says on the tin, will shop with you again when the need arises, thank you.

Happy with this, looks nice, seems sturdy and well made. Found the delivery options and communication very useful and convenient and Customer Services were very efficient in handling my query. I'd have no hesitation in placing another order (a discount for previous customers would be nice, though!)

This is exactly what I was looking for and hasn't disappointed. Well packaged with no damage and looks absolutely lovely in my new conservatory. Only negative comment - very minor one - it wobbled slightly until I filled it with books and ornaments and is not a major concern. Very happy.

Newark Oak Cupboard: quality and value for money good. Only complaint is the delivery - I asked for two people to deliver as I cannot lift due to back injury. Was delivered by a courier who had to lift furniture in to house on his own, and was only allowed to leave it at the door

A nice compact piece of furniture that adds storage without taking up too much room. Bought for my cookery books but a little too small but will take average sized paperback size or for display purposes. Certainly very good value for money well made and attractive

Beautiful little bookcase and a perfect fit for the space in my bedroom. I had searched for a bookcase no more than 45cm wide without success until I stumbled upon the Newark, and I'm delighted that it met my requirements exactly, as well as being of lovely quality.

Slightly disappointed as there are scratches/marks at the bottom on one side - however, as it was for my hallway I could position it so it is less noticeable (although they can still be seen!). Apart from that it's a really lovely unit and was a good price.

Very compact useful bookcase which fits in anywhere. Its a good simple design and has a smooth finish. My only complaint is that the base feels a bit rough and needs sanding down and smoothing off.However, I intend to buy a second one.

Such a sturdy and versatile little item! I wanted something to go between two doors but not hinder them opening fully. I've put dvds and a couple of toys on mine at the moment but I think that might change around quite regularly.

Lovely bookcase for our hallway, however it only fits a limited amount (and size) of books so the taller books don't fit. This bookcase seems smaller than expected but looks perfect in our narrow hallway.

First item was badly damaged and made, but quality controlled replacement was as it should have been like in the photo, overall a solid heavy oak unit which is very good for confined storage spaces.

A gorgeous little bookcase. Goes perfectly with my oak coloured blinds and oak door in the dining area. The shelves are a little rough in texture but this is not noticeable until you dust them.

Perfect small shelve unit, sits by the vestibule door, in a small space. Just the right size, looks lovely and goes well with my other pieces of furniture. Will be buying more.

The unit is fine. The only thing that disappointed me was to learn from the packaging that the item was made in China when I had presumed you had made it in the UK.

Very well made, straight-standing cases. Takes about 35-40 thick novels or about 75 dvds. Fits into spaces that otherwise are useless. Very useful for my situation.
