I went into the ClimaCool 3300 Mattress expecting to be unconvinced by the marketing. In store, though, it did feel like a proper step up within the range. The tension is still firm, and I would not call it plush, yet the top layer has enough give to stop it feeling like a hard board.
The part I remain cautious about is the internal spec. I could not look inside the mattress, so the spring count has to be taken on trust. That said, the showroom feel did line up with a dense support unit: clean contouring, decent edge hold, and a surface that reacted in smaller sections under body weight.
Build, depth and the claims behind it
The headline figure is 3300 pocket springs in king size. Furniture Village describes these as pocket springs, not a mix padded out with tiny micro springs, and that matters. A full support layer at that count would be pushing the practical limit for a king mattress, but it would also explain why the body contouring felt unusually precise for a firm model. Worth noting.
The 29cm depth is a sensible, premium-looking profile. It gives the mattress presence on the bed base, though you will probably want extra deep fitted sheets. The king size weighs 58kg, so rotating it regularly will be a two-person job for many households. The single-sided design saves you flipping it, but it also means all wear happens on one sleep face.
I was less impressed by some of the language around the cover and foams. The “chemical-free” wording always makes me twitch. Covers and foams are still made from chemicals; the useful point is that the materials have CertiPUR certification and a fire-safety approach that avoids certain treatments. Sensible reassurance, yes. Magic purity, no.
How it felt to lie on
The 5cm ClimaCool foam layer is where this model earns some of its higher-range feel. The cheaper ClimaCool mattresses I tried had a thinner comfort layer, and this extra cushioning was noticeable under the shoulder and hip. It still reads as firm, but the first contact is softer and calmer.
Side sleeping is just about viable here, which I would not say of every firm mattress. My shoulder did not jam up immediately, although lighter side sleepers may still find it too resistant over a full night. Back sleepers get the better deal: the surface holds the pelvis up well and gives a supported, level feel. Stomach sleepers should also find enough resistance, provided they do not want a very flat, traditional orthopaedic feel.
The cooling claim is the one I would treat carefully. In the showroom the knitted cover felt neutral and the foam did not have that clammy, slow-sinking feel you get from some boxed hybrids. Bold claim, though. I could not judge how the phase-change material would behave at 3am in August, and air-conditioned retail spaces flatter almost every cooling mattress.
Who I think it suits
This is best aimed at someone who wants a firm hybrid with a cushioned surface, not a sink-in mattress. Compared with the Simba Hybrid Pro, the ClimaCool 3300 feels more spring-led and upright; the Simba has a foamier, cosier feel to my hand. The Hypnos Orthos Support is tauter and more traditional, while this sits in a modern firm-hybrid lane.
Edge support was better than I expected. Sitting near the side, it held up with less collapse than the lower models in the same range, probably helped by that denser spring set-up. Motion transfer also seemed controlled when I shifted my weight, although a showroom test cannot recreate a restless partner moving around for eight hours.
Check the bed base before buying. The care guidance says slat gaps must be no wider than 7.5cm, and ignoring that could lead to dipping or guarantee trouble. That is not a small detail on a heavy mattress with this much spring content.
My verdict after trying it
I expected to dismiss this as cooling-foam gloss over an ordinary firm mattress. I did not. If the spring specification is as described, the ClimaCool 3300 has the contouring and edge strength to justify being taken seriously.
I would choose it ahead of the lower ClimaCool models, mainly because the comfort layer feels less compromised. I would still only buy it as a firm mattress first and a cooling mattress second. Anyone buying purely for the temperature claims should insist on a home trial, because the showroom made the support easy to judge and the all-night cooling impossible to prove.
