I tried the ClimaCool 2200 Mattress in person in a Furniture Village showroom, straight after spending time on the ClimaCool 2000. The upgrade sounds simple enough: 2200 pocket springs in king size, so 200 extra springs over the lower model. On the bed, that difference was much harder to justify. It felt a little sturdier under me, mainly around the perimeter, then the same firm character took over. Not enough.
Build details without the showroom gloss
This is a hybrid pocket spring and foam mattress with a 26 cm depth. The comfort layer is 4 cm of ClimaCool foam, with phase change material and carbon crystals built into the cooling story. I could feel a smooth, slightly cushioned top surface, though no showroom test can prove whether that cooling pitch holds up through a humid August night. Ten minutes in jeans under shop lighting is a poor substitute for sleep.

The weight is worth taking seriously. A 55 kg king mattress is awkward to rotate, and the super king at 66 kg will be a two-person job for most homes. It is single-sided, so there is no turning, but regular rotation is still advised. The care notes also ask for 4 hours of airing before use and 4 hours for the springs to settle and the mattress to reach full size. Slatted bases need gaps no wider than 7.5 cm, or dipping may become a problem and the guarantee position can be affected.
Comfort feel after lying on it
The first read is firm and direct. Back support felt strong through the middle of the mattress, with very little hammock effect under my hips. Larger back sleepers are probably the clearest audience here. The foam does take the harshness off the top, although it never gave me the deeper pressure relief I want for side sleeping.
That is where the 2200 model disappointed me. The extra springs did not turn this into a more forgiving mattress. My shoulder still sat too high when I rolled onto my side, and the surface felt reluctant to let the body settle in. The ClimaCool 2000 gave me much the same message, so the higher spring count feels more like a spec-sheet upgrade than a comfort upgrade.
Edge support was acceptable. I sat on the side and it held its shape well enough for tying shoes or getting in and out of bed. The border felt a fraction more composed than the 2000, though I would not pay a serious premium for that alone. Sealy Posturepedic firm models often give a clearer edge feel in the showroom; this mattress puts more of its case into cooling foam and spring count.
Who should shortlist it
Back sleepers who like a firmer bed should get on with it fastest. Front sleepers may also appreciate the resistance, provided they are not chasing a pillowy surface. Side sleepers need to be careful. The mattress did not suddenly become shoulder-friendly just because the spring count moved up from the 2000 version.
Couples get the usual pocket-spring advantage of individual support, and I did not feel much wobble when changing position. A shop floor cannot properly test two people moving through the night, so I would be wary of making a big claim on partner disturbance from that alone. The surface felt controlled, not dead.
The other concern is settling. The brand says indentations from filling settlement or body weight are normal and are not classed as defects. That line always makes me pause on foam-topped hybrids, because the showroom model only shows the start of the story. The CertiPUR-certified fillings are reassuring on paper, yet long-term body impressions are what buyers will actually notice.
Where I land on the 2200
I would buy the ClimaCool 2000 first unless the 2200 was only a small amount dearer on promotion. The feel is too close, the tension is still firmly aimed at back sleepers, and the 4 cm comfort layer does not broaden its appeal enough. I would put spare budget into a better base or a good mattress protector before paying much extra for this version.
