For most people, the Sleepeezee Hybrid Pro 2800 Mattress is one to walk past, and the memory foam pillow top fixed to it is the reason. If you love sinking into a soft top on night one, it gives you that, but it's the layer that wears first and the one you can't replace. Buy a pocket hybrid without a top instead.
The built-in pillow top wears first and can't come off
Furniture Village's listing calls it a built-in memory foam pillow top, filled with memory foam and polyester, with two more memory foam layers and pocket springs below it. It's 29cm deep, graded medium and no-turn. The top is what you feel first, and it's soft and cushioning on night one.
I avoid pillow tops for one reason: the soft top packs down before anything beneath it does, so you end up with a hollow in the top while the springs underneath are perfectly fine. You can't flip this mattress to share the wear, and you can't take the top off and replace it. A separate topper on a plain mattress gives you the same softness and can be swapped when it's tired.
Don't pay for 2800 until someone tells you what it counts
I'm not a Sleepeezee fan, and the spring count doesn't help. Furniture Village gives a figure of 2800 pocket springs for a king, and nothing more. It doesn't say whether that's one layer of full-height springs or a support unit with small springs counted in. Above about 1500 in a king, I assume part of a count is mini springs padding the sticker, until someone shows me otherwise.
So ask the shop how the 2800 splits, and what gauge the support springs are. A big number only matters if those springs are the ones holding you up.
45kg in a double, so rotating it takes two of you
It's heavy. A double weighs 45kg and a king 51kg on Furniture Village's figures, so rotating it head to toe, which the care notes ask you to do regularly, is a two-person job, so line up help before the van comes: in my house, that's the partner who pinches the duvet every night. At 29cm you'll want deep-pocket fitted sheets, and keep the slat gaps to 7.5cm or under.
The owner reviews are thin, and some on the listing are about a bed frame or ottoman bought with it. One owner says the mattress that arrived felt harder than the display model, and that's normal enough: every shopper before you has helped break in the one on the shop floor.
What to buy instead
Buy the Mlily Hybrid Gel 3000 from the same shop instead: pocket springs topped with a pair of gel memory foam layers, graded medium, 27cm, with no pillow top, and it costs a little less. You get the hybrid feel without the layer most likely to let you down.
