I came away from the Furniture Village visit with the Sleep Story Hybrid 360 marked as one of the stronger buys on the floor. It was not the most glamorous mattress I tried, and the exclusive-range branding makes direct price checking awkward, yet the feel under body weight was hard to argue with. Supportive through the centre. Steadier at the border than I expected.
The spec helps explain that first impression. In king size, this mattress uses 1500 individually encased pocket springs, where plenty of similarly priced hybrids still lean on a 1000-spring unit. I could feel the difference around the hips and ribs: the support came through in smaller, better-controlled zones, without the blunt plank feel that sometimes appears in cheaper spring-and-foam models.
What the construction gets right, and where it asks for care
This is a 23 cm deep hybrid with pocket springs, ErgoSense foam and a knitted fabric cover. The top has a cushioned, pressure-relieving feel, though it does not behave like a thick, slow-moving memory foam mattress. I preferred that restraint. Some showroom mattresses seduce you with a soft first minute, then collapse into a vague hollow once you settle. The Hybrid 360 kept a cleaner line beneath me.
The full foam encapsulation does real work. I sat on the edge, shifted my weight, then lay close to the side. The border held up well, so the usable surface feels wider than the tape measure would suggest. That is useful in a double, where two adults can quickly start negotiating space in the night. A stronger edge also makes getting dressed on the bed less annoying. Small thing. Daily thing.
The care instructions are where the value story loses some shine. It is single-sided, with a pillow top, so rotation from head to toe every month matters. A king is manageable for many households; a super king will be a two-person shuffle. The mattress also needs a slatted base with gaps no wider than 7.5 cm, or dipping may become a problem and the guarantee position can be affected.
The actual feel in the showroom
Medium is the right label. I found it supportive-medium, with enough surface give for the shoulder and a firmer response once the springs took over. Back sleeping felt the most natural. Side sleeping worked for me as well, although lighter side sleepers could find the upper comfort layer a bit too disciplined if they want a deeply cushioned shoulder.
Compared with the Emma Hybrid I have tried, this felt more like a traditional shop-floor mattress and calmer under movement. The Emma has that compressed-in-a-box liveliness. The Sleep Story feels steadier, helped by the spring count and the reinforced perimeter. I would still want a proper home trial to judge partner disturbance, because a showroom test cannot recreate two people turning over at 2am.
The breathable micro-quilted cover and cool-feel fabric felt pleasant to touch. That is as far as I would take the cooling claim from an in-store test. Foam near the surface can still hold warmth for some sleepers, and ten minutes in a retail unit says little about a humid August night. The advice to air it for 4 hours before use also hints that some initial odour is possible, so I would not unwrap it right before bedtime.
Best-fit sleepers
Back sleepers and combination sleepers should have this high on the list, provided they like a medium feel. Couples are another obvious match because the edge support is unusually convincing at this level. The hypoallergenic construction will appeal to buyers who want something simple and low-fuss, though I would still add a protector immediately.
Very heavy sleepers should spend time on it in store before ordering. The Hybrid 360 gave me good support, yet it is still a 23 cm medium mattress with a comfort layer on top, so people who know they need a firm bed may be better served elsewhere. The Sealy Posturepedic range is worth trying in the same trip for a different style of support, usually with a more orthodox sprung feel.
The Furniture Village exclusivity is a mild irritation. You cannot easily line it up against the same model at another retailer and see who is shaving the price. Even so, the in-person feel made several branded options nearby look expensive for what they offered. Retail margin or not, this did not feel like a token own-label mattress.
The call I would make
I would put the Hybrid 360 on a main-bedroom shortlist, not just a spare-room shortlist. The detail that would decide it for me is the base at home: on a tired frame with wide slat spacing, I would sort the support underneath before blaming the mattress. On a solid or closely slatted base, this is one of the better Furniture Village exclusives I tried.
