On the Furniture Village display bed, the Memory Luxe Mattress came across as a nice medium hybrid with a sensible feel. It gives side sleepers enough cushioning at the shoulder, keeps movement fairly easy, and uses pocket springs instead of the cheaper open-coil route. The marketing leans harder into luxury than the mattress itself does. Comfortable, yes. Sumptuous is pushing it.
What is actually in it
The build is a 26 cm deep hybrid: memory foam above 1000 pocket springs in king size. That is a decent setup for everyday support, and I would take it over a basic reflex foam mattress for most adults. It does not feel like a premium pocket sprung model from Hypnos, where the support tends to feel firmer and more composed across the whole surface.
The cover is Tencel, with a high-loft and micro-quilted stretch finish. It has a smoother, calmer feel than the plasticky covers fitted to many budget hybrids, and the hypoallergenic claim makes sense for buyers who react badly to rougher fabrics. The moisture-removal claim is harder to judge from a shop floor. A warm night under a duvet would be the proper test.
Sizes run from small single to super king. The listed weights are 17 kg for small single, 21 kg for single, 26 kg for small double, 30 kg for double, 35 kg for king and 42 kg for super king. The larger sizes will need two people for routine care. No surprise there, just worth knowing before it lands upstairs.
How it felt to lie on
The medium rating is believable. On my side, the top had enough give to ease shoulder pressure without creating that stuck feeling some memory foam beds have. The hip area stayed reasonably level during the short test. That side-sleeping position showed the mattress at its best.
The two memory foam layers are described in big, confident language. The showroom feel was lighter than that wording suggests. I felt a soft quilted surface first, then a modest foam cushion, then the spring unit taking over quite soon. That could disappoint anyone expecting a deep memory foam hug. It also means turning over is easier, and the mattress did not feel hot or sluggish during the lie-down.
Back sleeping was pleasant, though I wanted slightly stronger support through the middle after a few minutes. The springs are fine, and pocket springs still have a clear advantage over open coil for contouring. They are not doing anything especially clever here. The Emma Hybrid has a quicker rebound; the Memory Luxe feels softer and calmer at the top.
Heat remains the unresolved question. Tencel helps the case on paper, and the foam did not feel overly thick, yet memory foam can behave differently after several hours of body warmth. I could not prove that in store, so I would avoid treating the cooling language as settled fact.
Who should consider it
Side sleepers are the main audience. Average-weight sleepers should get enough sinkage for comfort, and the medium feel is easy to settle into. Lighter back sleepers may also like it, provided they prefer a cushioned surface rather than a braced one.
Front sleepers get a weaker recommendation from me. Medium foam-topped hybrids can allow the pelvis to sit too low once the fillings soften with use. Heavier back sleepers should also be careful for the same reason. The care notes state that indentations caused by settlement of fillings or body weight are normal and are not considered defects, so this is not a mattress I would buy expecting a perfectly flat surface forever.
It is single-sided and should not be turned over. Furniture Village advises rotating it from head to toe every month, airing it for 4 hours before first use, then allowing at least 4 hours for the springs to settle and the mattress to reach full size. On a slatted bed frame, the gap between slats must be no wider than 7.5 cm. Wider spacing may cause dipping and affect the guarantee position. Annoying detail. Important detail.
My showroom call
I would put the Memory Luxe on the shortlist for a side sleeper wanting a friendly medium hybrid with a smoother cover and no heavy foam drag. I would walk past it for firm lumbar support or a dense memory-foam feel.
The moderate foam depth is the part I liked most, oddly enough, because it keeps the mattress easier to move on. It is also the reason the product description feels overblown. Nice mattress, slightly oversold, best judged by lying on your side for a few minutes in store and ignoring the grander claims on the ticket.
