Tempur

Tempur was first born in the 1980’s to relatively lukewarm acclaim, see, it was the memory foam that really got Tempur finding it’s stride and this didn’t happen until 1991, becoming one of the first companies in the world to see the commercial benefits of what is now known today as memory foam.

Today Tempur is one of the largest mattress companies in the UK and serves thousands of customers yearly with its high quality no-compromise foam filled mattresses. The Tempur brand carries huge weight and is available in many bedding and chain retailers throughout. The standout features of Tempur have given customers a great night's sleep for decades with many spending their life on a mattress from this company, not having needed to swap out far beyond the traditional 7-year buying cycle.

With competitive pricing and unique memory foam bounce-back comfort, it’s not hard to see why Tempur are leading the way some 40 years after inception.

Tempur Owner Satisfaction

Tempur owner satisfaction is one of the main reasons why people go on to buy another Tempur when the time eventually comes to replace. See, Tempur mattresses are almost seen as part of a ‘cult’, once you’ve slept on one, the idea of moving to an alternate brand no longer makes sense. Reviews for Tempur mattresses consistently talk of the great night's sleep that comes with purchase and one which is rarely regretted.

Tempur mattresses are ranked number 1 for customer satisfaction in multiple countries across the world, highlighting their positive experiences and why one should be considered. Price points may serve as an issue for those looking for something a little cheaper, however, the reputation for improving the quality of people’s sleep cannot be overstated.

Tempur Supportiveness

When it comes to supportiveness you could be forgiven for looking beyond Tempur mattresses. After all, the memory foam comfort layer that is unique to Tempur is, as the name suggests, for comfort and not reflective of the support systems on offer. Fortunately Tempur mattresses now feature TEMPUR® Support Material for an outstanding support layer that is unique to the brand and not available on competing products. What’s more, the company has created a small but pointed range of mattresses to ensure that whatever your support preference of soft, medium or firm, there is something for everyone.

My personal preference continues to be the medium firmness tension which offers enough support with enough “give” to ensure you will sink deep into the mattress which makes it ideal for the average person sleeping on their side.

Tempur Durability

Different Tempur products have different guarantees but I do think it is particularly telling of the Tempur durability that their mattress lineup will most frequently come with a 10 year guarantee. This guarantee is a testament to the confidence the manufacturer has in their products. After all, each Tempur mattress takes around 60 hours to make (according to Tempur themselves), and in that time they go through up to 67 different quality and assurance tests to ensure that you get the right product that is built to last.

So much of the competition features 1 year guarantees which make it harder to justify the case that their durability is of a primary concern.

Igel Owner Satisfaction

Satisfaction is important to both Bensons for Beds and their iGel lineup. Being at the top of brands through the site, the manufacturer is held in high regard and is well reviewed by thousands of happy customers. Customers particularly enjoy the comfort layer which they say offers a cooling experience over equivalent memory foam alternatives. This is because gel breathes better and doesn’t cause heat buildup giving a better all-season mattress that performs well regardless of the weather.

I’ve personally trialled some of the iGel range in store and found some of the tensions to be on the firmer side, in-line with the designation the mattresses have been given. Regardless of which you choose, customers should be satisfied with the tension of the product.

Igel Supportiveness

The support on iGel mattresses is not derived from the gel layer as this is the comfort layer at the top, instead the support is offered from the pocket springs beneath. Pocket springs are universally fantastic and are my personal favourite when it comes to support systems. The result of this layer is an extremely supportive mattress regardless of which tension you choose, offering full body contouring with an impressive lifespan and increased breathability.

Igel Durability

Most mattresses have a traditional 1 year warranty and that is normally a fairly reasonable indicator as to how much trust the manufacturer has in their product. Naturally the better the components, the more durable they are and as such, manufacturers have more confidence in their lifespan and will guarantee them for longer. With iGel, not only are you getting high quality pocket springs combined with luxurious gel layers, but you are also getting a 10 year guarantee on all new mattresses coming out of the lineup. This goes a long way towards highlighting the durability of these mattresses and the lengths the manufacturer is going to in order to ensure long-standing satisfaction.

With a 10 year guarantee you will exceed the average lifecycle of 7 years, giving you better value and reducing the cost per night of sleep throughout its lifespan. As a result, while an iGel mattress may cost more initially, the need to replace later decreases real world costs.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress, and I must say, it has been a refreshing addition to my bedroom. As someone who values a good night's sleep, I was particularly intrigued by its promises of coolness and comfort. After sleeping on it for several weeks, I'm ready to share my experience. Comfort and Support: One of the standout features of the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress is its exceptional comfort and support. The mattress contours to the body, providing a cradling sensation that relieves pressure points. It offers a medium-firm feel, which I found to be perfect for my personal preference. Whether I was sleeping on my back, side, or stomach, the mattress offered consistent support and alignment, allowing me to wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Cooling Technology: The cooling technology in the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress is undoubtedly one of its strongest attributes. The top layer of the mattress is infused with a cooling gel that helps dissipate body heat throughout the night. As a result, I found myself sleeping cooler and experiencing fewer disturbances due to overheating. This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals who tend to sleep hot or live in warmer climates. Motion Isolation: Another noteworthy aspect of this mattress is its excellent motion isolation. When sharing the bed with a partner or a restless pet, I barely felt any movement transfer. This is a significant advantage for couples or light sleepers who are easily disturbed by movement during the night. The Tempur CoolTouch Mattress's ability to isolate motion ensures an uninterrupted and undisturbed sleep experience. Durability and Longevity: Tempur-Pedic mattresses are known for their durability, and the CoolTouch Mattress is no exception. Constructed with high-quality materials, this mattress is built to withstand the test of time. It exhibits minimal sagging and maintains its shape and support even after extended use. While it may come with a slightly higher price tag compared to some other mattresses on the market, its longevity and performance make it a worthwhile investment in the long run. Edge Support: The edge support of the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress is decent but not exceptional. While sitting or sleeping near the edges, I noticed some slight compression, but it was not significant enough to hinder my overall comfort or support. However, if you tend to utilize the entire surface of your mattress, this might be an aspect to consider. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress has exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, cooling technology, and overall sleep quality. Its ability to contour to the body, combined with the cooling gel infusion, offers a comfortable and cool sleep environment. Additionally, the mattress's durability ensures a long-lasting investment. While the edge support could be improved, it does not detract significantly from the overall experience. If you're in the market for a high-quality mattress that prioritizes comfort and temperature regulation, the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress is definitely worth considering.

What a lovely mattress and like nothing we've had before. Last time we changed our mattress we went for one with a memory foam topper built in which proved to be a big mistake. The topper would move and we'd wake up in the night to find our pillows had disappeared down the back, so we knew we didn't want one of those again. Anyway. We chose to go to dreams to use their sleep sensor bed to see if it would help us get a good nights sleep and it recommended a firm mattress. We tried a few different ones and the TEMPUR Very Firm CoolTouch Elite Mattress was by far the most unusual as we slowly sank into it rather than laid on it. It was certainly the most comfortable but that was for the few minutes we were on it in the shop. As Dreams do a 100 day trial we thought we'd give it a try. The price was nearly double what we thought we would be paying but then thought it would be a good investment if started getting a good nights sleep again. First night was very strange. Getting into bed that felt like laying down on a bed of wet sand or thick custard. Then the fun trying to move once the bed had cast it's mold around you and started to grip you. First nights sleep was therefore broken a bit due to not being use to that and our backs ached as we tried to roll out of our soft coffins. Both of us thought we had made a mistake and maybe we have gone for a traditional mattress. But we'll give it a couple more nights. Well..... what a difference. As we slowly got use to it molding to our bodies we noticed it changed quicker with us, so moving and getting out became easier. We also noticed that we could actually feel it supporting us where we needed it and we are definitely sleeping better and waking up with less back pain. Now although it's called extra firm it's certainly not hard and cool touch certainly doesn't mean cold to get into. This doesn't mean the bed is perfect. I now have to suffer my wife saying on Sunday morning that the bed is holding her captive so I'll have to go and bring her coffee..... The TEMPUR Very Firm CoolTouch Elite Mattress is worth every penny of our "investment" in the price and investing the time in getting use to it. If it lasts us just 10yrs as per the guarantee it'll be worth the £2 a month for a good nights sleep.

So having had this mattress around 4 weeks now and having slept on the cloud mattress for 4 weeks I can say this mattress has made a difference to my sleep. So previously I had a memory foam mattress from Ikea which cost me around £300, it was quite hard but we made do with it as I guess other things in life take precedent. Over the last year or so I developed a shooting pain in my shoulder blade on the left side, I put this down to being a muddled sleeper with my arm under my head while sleeping etc. So I made the decision to look into a good mattress which would possibly help with the pain I was often getting, I can honestly say this mattress has helped me personally, my pain has now almost gone and I believe this to be down to the mattress supporting my body where it needs it, I recently stayed away for a short break and the place we stayed had a spring mattress, the next day my shooting pain came back, once I got back home and slept on my Tempur again the pain has gone so I'm sure the Tempur is doing what it's supposed to do. I was very reluctant in spending around £1700 on a king size mattress as it's a lot of money but sucked it up and made the purchase. I'm glad I did now as the mattress is great and has helped me massively personally. If you have any aches or pains and are considering this mattress, give it a go as Dreams do offer a 100 nights money back guarantee so you've nothing to loose. Also look out for when offers are on, Dreams usually offer Tempur pillows and mattress protectors with in the cost of the mattress if you keep an eye out at key times of the year, NY, Xmas and Black Friday sales.

While the price may seem a little steep at first, I can safely say after a month of use that these pillows are worth every penny. Hands down the best pillow I have ever owned. I was able to try one out while looking for a new mattress, and was skeptical at first, taking it as a bit of an expensive gimmick, but, wow, 10 minutes of use in-store and I was sold. The obvious USP is the CoolTouch feature and it really lives up to the name - it is always cool to the touch. The pillow does warm up a little during use, but you can simply move your head to another part of it to experience that cool pillow feeling again - meaning no more pillow flipping in the middle of the night to get the cool side. It really is something else. The support the pillow provides is also fantastic. I'm a restless sleeper, and fall asleep on my front, but will move around in the night so that I could be on my side or back and it is equally as comfortable for all sleeping positions. My head sinks into the pillow just the right amount, and the pillow springs back to shape very quickly when I move. A great balance of softness/comfort and support. The removable, washable cover is also very handy for keeping your pillows fresher for longer. The ONLY drawback, if you can call it that, is that there is a slight smell to the pillows when you initally start using them, I imagine this is something to do with the CoolTouch feature. But this has already disappeared for me after a month of use. Overall, I couldn't be happier, would recommend these to anyone.

OK, so having broken my back 40 years ago, I’ve spent a fair chunk of my disposable income on different mattresses and beds, latex, pocket sprung, Vi-Spring - you get my drift. Sadly, none of these gave me exactly the correct amount of support in the places where this was crucial to getting a peaceful, restful and refreshing night’s sleep. Fast-forward to our visit to “Dreams” at Plympton. Joy of joys! No pressure, no salesperson hovering over us as we tried to adopt unrealistic “sleeping” poses. Just oodles of time to lie down, turn and try out each mattress (after first addressing our mattress needs using “Dreams” wonderful mattress assessment technology. We spent hours (no really, over 3 hours) testing our final three mattress choices. These were soon whirled down to a leading favourite and a strong contender. After a delicious complimentary cup of excellent coffee, it was back to the rigours if serious testing. This one had everything we wanted: more importantly, despite my best efforts, I couldn’t find a single flaw with this mattress (and I went shopping armed with an extensive “Nit-Pick” list). So there you have it. In my humble opinion, this is probably the world’s best mattress. Expensive? Nothing like the cost of my last mattress which was a Vi-Spring. You’ll spend one-third of your life on a mattress, so don’t skimp on the testing nor the price and buy this mattress - it will be one of the best’ no-risk investments you’ll ever make.

Mattress is very good. However, I purchased a Mattress Protector Perfect Partner' designed to compliment this mattress and upon opening it it said it was not to be used with an electric blanket. As I use an electric blanket all winter, it means this product (which cost 54.99) is useless for me. I would point out that this warning is on a label on the protector and nowhere on the packaging did it show this warning. I took it back to the shop but was told they could not refund or exchange for a diffent protector, because I had opened it. I explained that I had opened it in good faith, never expecting to see that warning. The Salesman rang a Manager in another store and the confirmed that because I had opened it, it could not be returned. The Salesman also rang Bensons Customer services, who said the same. I rang Customer Service myself and got absolutely nowhere. I was told by the person I spoke to that I could not speak to anyone in a higher position than him, as apparently that person does not exist! So, I have a 54.99 Mattress Protector, which is just about to go in the bin. I am shocked by Bensons after sale service. Whilst purchasing the bed and the mattress everyone was very pleasant and efficient. I suppose that is because I was spending 2000+ I have 60 days to return the bed if I don't like it. I am tempted to because of the incident with the mattress protector.

I am a hot sleeper and so have always avoided memory foam mattresses. But over the past few years no matter how carefully I have chosen a mattress, they have never given me the support and comfort I need. My back aches, my hips hurt and I toss and turn. So, did some research , went to Benson's , spoke to lovely sales assistant lady and bought the iGel mattress. Have been sleeping on it now for about 3 weeks and I mean sleeping on it. I got the medium which is perfect for me. I also bought the iGel Advance mattress protector and I can honestly say I do not have a pro lem with overheating. The mattress feels supportive. It kind of cradles my hips if I turn in my side but I am not aware of any constant tossing and turning. I wake up feeling as if I have had some quality sleep which is lovely. It is expensive, but how do you put a price on sleep. Things like this are always subjective. I just wish I had risked it earlier, it would have saved me all that wasted money on mattresses that I disposed of quickly because they were not what I was looking for. And the ability to try it out is good, even if there is an admin charge to exchange but it is a good fall back. I can highly recommend this mattress.

Happy with my purchase but quite expensive even on a discount deal. I am a very warm person even in winter. Needed a new mattress anyway and wanted one that would keep me cool. Have slept much better on this one than my old (also expensive) one. But consistently good sleep is worth the money. I have noticed the cooling effect, especially in the recent heatwave. I've slept without any duvet and been the perfect temperature. If it does warm up a little under my body, I simply move .... even if I move my arm to a new part, it's noticeably cooler. The only problem now is that none of my mattress protectors or fitted sheets will stay on at each corner because the mattress is much deeper than my previous one so I'll have to invest in deeper ones. Also have to say I was very happy with Benson's service from start to finish. From the salesguy and other staff in store (Bournemouth, Mallard Road) to the delivery guys ... all really couteous, helpful and cheerful. Able to answer all my questions and give advice. For this reason I've always bought my beds and mattresses from Bensons. Trustworthy and reliable. Credit where it's due so well done guys.

Very disappointed in the sales talk used to make us purchase the mattress protector. This is sold to apparently cover us for accidents.? The lady who sold us the mattress which was 1400 looked uncomfortable talking us through the mattress cover.. I kept asking questions. If the mattress needs a protector for insurance it should be complimentary. This product makes the mattress hot and sweaty as it is made of cheap plastic. It's not fit for purpose in my opinion. After four nights with it on we finally worked out we were so hot because the plastic used was similar to hospital beds and we were practically cooking. Clearly all mattresses are personal different for the individual. So some our breathable hot or cooling etc. what's the point of making us purchase a cover plastic cheap though 34.99 is very expensive. This totally defeats the object of a breathable cooling mattress. Personally feel like we have been conned. If we had not worked out the cover was the problem, we would have demanded a refund for the mattress. So not the experience we were hoping for. The lady who served us was very helpful until the sales push!!!

After sleeping on the mattress, which is definitely more comfortable than our old one, we will be requesting an exchange for the extra firm because the firm that we ordered is just not firm enough. I must say though, that I am disappointed in the after sales customer care. At delivery we realised that the wrong pillows were put n the order form, which I did not pick up at the time of the order. When I called the shop, I was told that they can't do exchanges in the shop and that I would have to pay 10 extra per pillow becuase the special was over. I know which pillows I ordered at the time of the order and I believe that the wrong pillows were deliberately put on the order and if caught at the time would have been corrected, but because I only caught it after delivery, I was told I would have to pay more. I think the customer service like this after such is big order is disappointing. 2 stars for that.
