Tempur

Tempur was first born in the 1980’s to relatively lukewarm acclaim, see, it was the memory foam that really got Tempur finding it’s stride and this didn’t happen until 1991, becoming one of the first companies in the world to see the commercial benefits of what is now known today as memory foam.

Today Tempur is one of the largest mattress companies in the UK and serves thousands of customers yearly with its high quality no-compromise foam filled mattresses. The Tempur brand carries huge weight and is available in many bedding and chain retailers throughout. The standout features of Tempur have given customers a great night's sleep for decades with many spending their life on a mattress from this company, not having needed to swap out far beyond the traditional 7-year buying cycle.

With competitive pricing and unique memory foam bounce-back comfort, it’s not hard to see why Tempur are leading the way some 40 years after inception.

Dormeo

Dormeo first popped up on our radar back in the early 2000’s, finding different avenues to market than traditional with their frequent TV advertising and push toward their own independent store over the conventional retailer derived market. Selling typically mid to high range products there are a few things that stand out with the Dormeo offering that competitors lag behind on, namely split tension and the way customers can adjust the firmness of their mattresses themselves via included replacement pads.

Regardless of your budget, there’s likely to be something suitable for a reasonable price point.

Tempur Owner Satisfaction

Tempur owner satisfaction is one of the main reasons why people go on to buy another Tempur when the time eventually comes to replace. See, Tempur mattresses are almost seen as part of a ‘cult’, once you’ve slept on one, the idea of moving to an alternate brand no longer makes sense. Reviews for Tempur mattresses consistently talk of the great night's sleep that comes with purchase and one which is rarely regretted.

Tempur mattresses are ranked number 1 for customer satisfaction in multiple countries across the world, highlighting their positive experiences and why one should be considered. Price points may serve as an issue for those looking for something a little cheaper, however, the reputation for improving the quality of people’s sleep cannot be overstated.

Tempur Supportiveness

When it comes to supportiveness you could be forgiven for looking beyond Tempur mattresses. After all, the memory foam comfort layer that is unique to Tempur is, as the name suggests, for comfort and not reflective of the support systems on offer. Fortunately Tempur mattresses now feature TEMPUR® Support Material for an outstanding support layer that is unique to the brand and not available on competing products. What’s more, the company has created a small but pointed range of mattresses to ensure that whatever your support preference of soft, medium or firm, there is something for everyone.

My personal preference continues to be the medium firmness tension which offers enough support with enough “give” to ensure you will sink deep into the mattress which makes it ideal for the average person sleeping on their side.

Tempur Durability

Different Tempur products have different guarantees but I do think it is particularly telling of the Tempur durability that their mattress lineup will most frequently come with a 10 year guarantee. This guarantee is a testament to the confidence the manufacturer has in their products. After all, each Tempur mattress takes around 60 hours to make (according to Tempur themselves), and in that time they go through up to 67 different quality and assurance tests to ensure that you get the right product that is built to last.

So much of the competition features 1 year guarantees which make it harder to justify the case that their durability is of a primary concern.

Dormeo Owner Satisfaction

Satisfaction among customers appears to be high for Dormeo mattresses. This is unsurprising given the high quality materials and primary materials of latex, memory foam and pocket springs. Customers particularly enjoy the different firmness levels offered within each purchase. Where conventionally you would purchase a mattress and be left with the firmness chosen, Dormeo have gone a step further and developed removable pads that adjust the tension to a suitable level which, being a common complaint otherwise, assures satisfaction.

Customer reviews for Dormeo mattresses are fairly impressive and with impressive market leading warranties this trend looks set to continue.

Dormeo Supportiveness

Support is something very unique to Dormeo due to its split tension dual core mattresses. This specialist lineup allows you to have multiple tensions within one mattress, simply flip over to achieve a different degree of support and comfort.

Traditionally we judge a mattress manufacturer's support by the layer denoted to it and in the case of Dormeo this looks to be primarily pocket springs as a base layer. Pocket springs are market leading and outperform equivalent open coil and reflex foam units, they achieve this by having better body contouring, less settlement issues and better durability.

Dormeo Durability

Much of the Dormeo lineup comes with anything from 10 year to 20 year warranties. Regardless of which mattress you choose and which of the warranties you receive, it will still be toward the absolute top percentile in terms of warranty coverage. This is important because without a warranty you will be unprotected in the years that follow and since the average mattress is replaced after 7 years, a 10-20 year warranty goes a fairly long way in determining the expected above-and-beyond lifespan of such a product. Combine the great warranty with market-leading support and comfort layers and you are left with an extremely durable mattress that will provide you with a great night's sleep for a decade to come.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress, and I must say, it has been a refreshing addition to my bedroom. As someone who values a good night's sleep, I was particularly intrigued by its promises of coolness and comfort. After sleeping on it for several weeks, I'm ready to share my experience. Comfort and Support: One of the standout features of the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress is its exceptional comfort and support. The mattress contours to the body, providing a cradling sensation that relieves pressure points. It offers a medium-firm feel, which I found to be perfect for my personal preference. Whether I was sleeping on my back, side, or stomach, the mattress offered consistent support and alignment, allowing me to wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Cooling Technology: The cooling technology in the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress is undoubtedly one of its strongest attributes. The top layer of the mattress is infused with a cooling gel that helps dissipate body heat throughout the night. As a result, I found myself sleeping cooler and experiencing fewer disturbances due to overheating. This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals who tend to sleep hot or live in warmer climates. Motion Isolation: Another noteworthy aspect of this mattress is its excellent motion isolation. When sharing the bed with a partner or a restless pet, I barely felt any movement transfer. This is a significant advantage for couples or light sleepers who are easily disturbed by movement during the night. The Tempur CoolTouch Mattress's ability to isolate motion ensures an uninterrupted and undisturbed sleep experience. Durability and Longevity: Tempur-Pedic mattresses are known for their durability, and the CoolTouch Mattress is no exception. Constructed with high-quality materials, this mattress is built to withstand the test of time. It exhibits minimal sagging and maintains its shape and support even after extended use. While it may come with a slightly higher price tag compared to some other mattresses on the market, its longevity and performance make it a worthwhile investment in the long run. Edge Support: The edge support of the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress is decent but not exceptional. While sitting or sleeping near the edges, I noticed some slight compression, but it was not significant enough to hinder my overall comfort or support. However, if you tend to utilize the entire surface of your mattress, this might be an aspect to consider. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress has exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, cooling technology, and overall sleep quality. Its ability to contour to the body, combined with the cooling gel infusion, offers a comfortable and cool sleep environment. Additionally, the mattress's durability ensures a long-lasting investment. While the edge support could be improved, it does not detract significantly from the overall experience. If you're in the market for a high-quality mattress that prioritizes comfort and temperature regulation, the Tempur CoolTouch Mattress is definitely worth considering.

What a lovely mattress and like nothing we've had before. Last time we changed our mattress we went for one with a memory foam topper built in which proved to be a big mistake. The topper would move and we'd wake up in the night to find our pillows had disappeared down the back, so we knew we didn't want one of those again. Anyway. We chose to go to dreams to use their sleep sensor bed to see if it would help us get a good nights sleep and it recommended a firm mattress. We tried a few different ones and the TEMPUR Very Firm CoolTouch Elite Mattress was by far the most unusual as we slowly sank into it rather than laid on it. It was certainly the most comfortable but that was for the few minutes we were on it in the shop. As Dreams do a 100 day trial we thought we'd give it a try. The price was nearly double what we thought we would be paying but then thought it would be a good investment if started getting a good nights sleep again. First night was very strange. Getting into bed that felt like laying down on a bed of wet sand or thick custard. Then the fun trying to move once the bed had cast it's mold around you and started to grip you. First nights sleep was therefore broken a bit due to not being use to that and our backs ached as we tried to roll out of our soft coffins. Both of us thought we had made a mistake and maybe we have gone for a traditional mattress. But we'll give it a couple more nights. Well..... what a difference. As we slowly got use to it molding to our bodies we noticed it changed quicker with us, so moving and getting out became easier. We also noticed that we could actually feel it supporting us where we needed it and we are definitely sleeping better and waking up with less back pain. Now although it's called extra firm it's certainly not hard and cool touch certainly doesn't mean cold to get into. This doesn't mean the bed is perfect. I now have to suffer my wife saying on Sunday morning that the bed is holding her captive so I'll have to go and bring her coffee..... The TEMPUR Very Firm CoolTouch Elite Mattress is worth every penny of our "investment" in the price and investing the time in getting use to it. If it lasts us just 10yrs as per the guarantee it'll be worth the £2 a month for a good nights sleep.

So having had this mattress around 4 weeks now and having slept on the cloud mattress for 4 weeks I can say this mattress has made a difference to my sleep. So previously I had a memory foam mattress from Ikea which cost me around £300, it was quite hard but we made do with it as I guess other things in life take precedent. Over the last year or so I developed a shooting pain in my shoulder blade on the left side, I put this down to being a muddled sleeper with my arm under my head while sleeping etc. So I made the decision to look into a good mattress which would possibly help with the pain I was often getting, I can honestly say this mattress has helped me personally, my pain has now almost gone and I believe this to be down to the mattress supporting my body where it needs it, I recently stayed away for a short break and the place we stayed had a spring mattress, the next day my shooting pain came back, once I got back home and slept on my Tempur again the pain has gone so I'm sure the Tempur is doing what it's supposed to do. I was very reluctant in spending around £1700 on a king size mattress as it's a lot of money but sucked it up and made the purchase. I'm glad I did now as the mattress is great and has helped me massively personally. If you have any aches or pains and are considering this mattress, give it a go as Dreams do offer a 100 nights money back guarantee so you've nothing to loose. Also look out for when offers are on, Dreams usually offer Tempur pillows and mattress protectors with in the cost of the mattress if you keep an eye out at key times of the year, NY, Xmas and Black Friday sales.

While the price may seem a little steep at first, I can safely say after a month of use that these pillows are worth every penny. Hands down the best pillow I have ever owned. I was able to try one out while looking for a new mattress, and was skeptical at first, taking it as a bit of an expensive gimmick, but, wow, 10 minutes of use in-store and I was sold. The obvious USP is the CoolTouch feature and it really lives up to the name - it is always cool to the touch. The pillow does warm up a little during use, but you can simply move your head to another part of it to experience that cool pillow feeling again - meaning no more pillow flipping in the middle of the night to get the cool side. It really is something else. The support the pillow provides is also fantastic. I'm a restless sleeper, and fall asleep on my front, but will move around in the night so that I could be on my side or back and it is equally as comfortable for all sleeping positions. My head sinks into the pillow just the right amount, and the pillow springs back to shape very quickly when I move. A great balance of softness/comfort and support. The removable, washable cover is also very handy for keeping your pillows fresher for longer. The ONLY drawback, if you can call it that, is that there is a slight smell to the pillows when you initally start using them, I imagine this is something to do with the CoolTouch feature. But this has already disappeared for me after a month of use. Overall, I couldn't be happier, would recommend these to anyone.

OK, so having broken my back 40 years ago, I’ve spent a fair chunk of my disposable income on different mattresses and beds, latex, pocket sprung, Vi-Spring - you get my drift. Sadly, none of these gave me exactly the correct amount of support in the places where this was crucial to getting a peaceful, restful and refreshing night’s sleep. Fast-forward to our visit to “Dreams” at Plympton. Joy of joys! No pressure, no salesperson hovering over us as we tried to adopt unrealistic “sleeping” poses. Just oodles of time to lie down, turn and try out each mattress (after first addressing our mattress needs using “Dreams” wonderful mattress assessment technology. We spent hours (no really, over 3 hours) testing our final three mattress choices. These were soon whirled down to a leading favourite and a strong contender. After a delicious complimentary cup of excellent coffee, it was back to the rigours if serious testing. This one had everything we wanted: more importantly, despite my best efforts, I couldn’t find a single flaw with this mattress (and I went shopping armed with an extensive “Nit-Pick” list). So there you have it. In my humble opinion, this is probably the world’s best mattress. Expensive? Nothing like the cost of my last mattress which was a Vi-Spring. You’ll spend one-third of your life on a mattress, so don’t skimp on the testing nor the price and buy this mattress - it will be one of the best’ no-risk investments you’ll ever make.

I had seen this in store at a local bed store which was great as I had only seen it advertised on tv. As with most mattresses, it does feel firmer than the one in store but I have had the mattress a week now and it is starting to soften a little. I bought as a replacement for my old memory foam mattress which i'd had for over 7 years and it had a permanent dip giving me back pain. The dormeo mattress is a lot more supportive and I am waking up in less pain. I would say though, the first night I slept on it, I found it extremely warm, which would be great in winter but a bit much in summer! Also, bear in mind, it is a deep mattress. It only just fits my bed frame. But overall, so far I am happy with it.

Very comfortable only reason for a 4 star is we have a kingsize bed frame and it is about an inch from fitting side to side even though the width of the mattress is 150cm which is king
