What makes Dormeo different
We've reviewed Dormeo across multiple models over the years. It's a brand that delivers on the value positioning without cutting corners on the technology - which isn't something every mid-market foam brand manages. The reason it stands apart from the crowd is Octaspring.
Octaspring is worth understanding because nothing else on the UK market quite works the same way. Instead of a solid slab of memory foam or a traditional pocket spring unit, Dormeo uses octagonal foam springs. Each one is shaped like a coil but made entirely from memory foam. The result is a mattress that bounces and breathes like a sprung bed but still gives you that foam pressure relief. On a showroom bed it feels cooler on first contact than standard memory foam and springs back faster when you shift position. How that holds over a full night, I can't tell you.

A few things we've noticed

On firmness - most Dormeo mattresses are labelled medium, and they're being honest, but they sit on the firmer side of medium in practice. If I had to put a number on it, maybe a six out of ten where one is the softest. They do soften a bit in the first few weeks as the foam beds in, mind you. Anyone who specifically wants a soft mattress should probably look elsewhere.
