I absolutely love this Tempur Smartcool mattress. I have slept on a traditional Tempur mattresses before and loved them but unfortunately my husband gets too hot and doesn't find them firm enough. I, on the other hand, am a cold person so find them cosy if perhaps a little softer than I'm used to. This mattress has been the perfect compromise. The medium firm rating is perfect and we find that it does regulate both our temperatures really well - much better than cheaper gel layer mattresses have done for us in the past. Whilst it is a very expensive mattress I think it is worth the extra cost. The only downside is that if you really struggle with the cold and routinely use an electric blanket or hot water bottle note that Tempur does not recommend using heated products with it. I find that my cold feet warm up more quickly when lying on the mattress due to its temperature regulating properties so don't need my heated blanket, thereby saving a little electricity. It is also great for my joint aches as it does relieve the pressure on my hip when side sleeping despite being on the slightly firmer side.

We have had our Matress for 9 months. At the start we loved it and it helped with the aches & pains. A few months in and I can honestly say it's the worse matress we have ever purchased. The memory foam is not supportive at all for my back. I've had to purchase additional pillows to prop under the arch of my back. For the price we paid, this is extremely poor. The silent night we had before this was much cheaper and much more resilient! The cool technology is not cooling at all either. Very warm Matress, the cover on the Matress means any sheet fitted or flat also simply slips off. After a few months we would have returned but it was outside the Bensons 40 days. However interestingly the brand actually has a 100 day return policy. If we would have bought from the company we would have returned in the free 100 day window, no second thoughts! If you have bad backs this relief you get will not be long term. I wonder if everyone else who has given reviews on here in the early days are now experiencing the same issues.

This was the best mattress purchase that we've ever made! My husband and I have various age related aches and pains in different joints and trying to find a mattress that suits both of our needs has proved to be very problematic in the past. We therefore investigated The Tempur brand and I wish I looked into these mattresses years ago! They relieve all the pressure points but still remain supportive in all the other areas of your body. I'm a side sleeper. My husband is a back sleeper and this mattress suits us both so perfectly. It's a different technology in a different field so it will feel very different initially to your normal mattress especially if you have had a combination of springs and memory foam which is what we had before but after the first initial few nights you soon realise that you've woken up every morning without an ache. And team Benson's were amazing from the lovely sales assistant in the shop to the guys who delivered it, nothing was too much trouble.

We purchased this mattress in May 2024, and within less than a year, there are already visible body imprints that don't bounce back. For a mattress that cost 2,500, this is incredibly disappointing. According to the T&Cs, the imprints aren't "deep enough" to qualify as a defect, but they are permanent and noticeable, and the mattress no longer offers proper support. I've tried rotating it, but the sagging is centered horizontally, so it makes no difference. For context, I weigh only 55kg and my husband is around 95kg, certainly not excessive for two adults! It's shocking how quickly this mattress has deteriorated. I tried to take a photo, but it doesn't show up the same, it's something you have to see in person. We financed the purchase, and we're still paying it off, yet it already feels worse than our previous 150 Ikea mattress, which lasted us 14 years. I deeply regret choosing this one, as it seemed very comfortable in the shop.

When I first got into bed with my new Tempur Pro Plus Smart Cool mattress I thought I had made a terrible mistake and it would be going back after the 5 day period you had to try it for. It was like being on a board. I told my husband this will have to go back. I then thought I would get a topper save all the messing about. I'm so glad I did nothing for the first 10 days. I love the mattress now. Tempur website explained that the more you slept on it, the mattress would open up inside and soften to your body which is exactly what it's done. I absolutely love it now which is 7 weeks down the line. I would highly recommend it. It is a very large purchase, but in my mind and my husband's well worth the money. I would highly recommend this mattress, but do give it a few weeks before throwing in the towel. I also purchased the Tempur pillow which again took a while to get used to but love it now.

Overall - very happy with the bed, had it about 3 weeks now so accustomed to it. Not sure about the cooling feature though. Not really noticed the benefit with that aspect and have had to have the fan on despite the weather taking a turn. One issue is our fitted sheets don't stay on. They all tend to slide regardless of the depth of them. the official Tempur ones are like 70, so bought an elasticated grip from amazon which is working well. Not sure if thee mattress is a slightly odd share to traditional king size as out old mattress was 35cm deep and this is less tall. We also bought the mattress protector, but that seem to make us hotter and sheets slide even more - i wouldn't recommend the official protector at 100. Very comfy though and the mattress itself is brill - but don't expect to notice the cooling effect.

I've had this mattress (medium-firm) for approx 21 nights. First night was awful and we felt like we were sleeping on concrete. As each night passes we are getting more used to it. It doesn't give that cosy cudgey feeling when you get into it but we are both sleeping better. Best thing about it is I can't feel my husband moving or turning over etc. We deliberated between the medium and the medium firm and chose the medium firm because we felt like we were sinking too much into the medium one - This would maybe have given us that cudgey feeling, but overall I think we went for the right mattress. They seem to take a long time to break in so I'm hoping it does soften a bit more. It feels quality but I am concerned about its longevity as I've read some bad reviews about current quality of Tempur mattresses. Time will tell.

We have now taken delivery of our Tempur mattress. We were disappointed to discover from reading the instructions for caring for a Tempur mattress (which came with the mattress), that you should NOT use an electric under blanket. It would have been much better to learn this during the sales process, which would have influenced our purchase, never having owned a memory foam mattress previously. Additionally, we had decided to purchase a new electric under blanket prior to delivery, so this was a wasted 125. We then purchased an alternative electric over blanket at a further 125 but don't like this due to its weight. So, if like us, your preference is an electric blanket for wintertime, do bear this in mind when buying your new mattress. I have written to the Chester Store and awaiting their response.

Very comfy mattress. It does take just a little while to get used to how it feels, as it is different to your average squashy bed. What you find with this bed is that you have to wait just a little moment when you first get into bed, for the mattress to 'give' and form a little hollow around you, which is the best bit. We went for a medium firm. I weigh a lot less than my husband and even then the mattress is suitable for us both in terms of comfort. It is very supportive and a pleasure to lie on. What I like best: the way it conforms to your own specific body mass. What takes a little getting used to: that the mattress does feel very firm compared with the average mattress when you first sit on it, and your brain thinks it's going to be as hard as nails to lie on, but it's not. It's very comfy.

Our last mattress was Tempur (super king) so when it needed replacing we opted for another, so it's obvious we like them. They are supportive, comfortable and give excellent service over the years. You cannot judge a mattress by lying on one for a short period and you need to give yourself time to appreciate it's quality. Tempur is not cheap, perhaps they are a tad expensive, but our first one gave 10 years of trouble free service and we wanted to update it rather than feeling it had reached the end of its life. We chose a time to update when Benson's were offering valuable discounts on the product. The niggles. Yes three super king size is heavy, even rotating them is a job for two people, and there are no handles on the sides to assist, but that's about it.

I've got to say this is the best mattress I've ever had, we went for the medium firm after trying soft and the hard mattress. It can take a few weeks to get use to a new mattress I was smitten straight away. Suffering with achy hips and back the last few months on my old mattress, to no pains or aches having the best sleep ever. I also noticed that I wasn't tossing and turning in the night trying to take pressure off my hips. We were also lucky to have two Tempur pillows that came with the mattress which support your neck and head, again you have a choice of soft, medium and hard. I really do recommend this mattress and have mentioned it to most friends I have spoke to I just love bed time now, the down side to it is you just don't want to get out of bed!!

Bensons were very helpful and knowledgable when it came to choosing a mattress. Before this I had another memory form mattress by the other well known S**** mattresses but had to go back after 2 months as so uncomfortable and had dips in the mattress. Was worried this would be the same but not at all still looks brand new. This mattress is firm when you first lay down however when it warms up it hugs and supports your body and so comfortable I sometimes don't want to get out of bed when it's cold and frosty. The protector and fitted sheet do move round a bit, fidgety sleeper, however as long as you get deep enough ones they stay put. I got the mattress in the sale so bonus however would recommend even at the full price.

This mattress has been amazing for me, I have a pain condition so needed something soft and this mattress is so soft and the cooling feature means i can be comfortable all through the night. This mattress while extremely soft and still provides me with a good amount of support. As part of an offer I received 2 pillows a soft and a medium i find the soft 1 perfect with the soft mattress and my son likes the medium 1 on his bed and they have also helped to improve our sleep. The lady who helped me with my purchase was very helpful and showed me different options delivery was quick and the delivery man were very nice and professional. All round a great experience and extremely happy with my mattress.

I purchased this mattress to replace my old Tempur mattress, which I had for nearly 27 years. The new mattress is just as good as the previous one with the addition of the Smartcool feature. I will never buy another type of mattress. Sleeping is such a personal thing, that if you find that a mattress really works for you then why change. I know that Tempur is more expensive than other similar types of mattress's but they are well worth every penny. The only thing I would advise, is to go into a store and try each of the different varieties of Tempur as there is a significant difference in the firmeness between each and again this is a personal choice.

Never had a matress as expensive as this one totally silly money BUT worth every single penny I honestly struggle to find words for how good this matress is, the quality is excellent, it is comfortable beyond words almost like sleeping on a cloud, helps with aches and pains it is cooling in the heat warm in the cold I seriously recommend this matress if you have the money DO IT ! I have never slept so well in my entire life I have absolutely no cons no complaints at all it really is something else, I don't snore as much I am less restless it comes with a 10 year guarantee you don't need to turn it it is quite simply awesome .

For comfort, this is the best mattress I have ever slept on by far. Superb in that respect. However, when it arrived it had a very strong chemical smell. I had to completely strip it every day and leave the bedroom windows open for it to air. It took 5 weeks for the smell to get to a tolerable level. I was offered a like-for-like swap but did not want to risk starting the process from the beginning so stuck with this one. Worth it in the end but one heck of a faff. I don't understand why Tempur mattresses are not fully aired BEFORE delivery. Comfort 5 stars, smell 1 star, 3 starts overall.

Tempur pro plus smart cool mattress. This is my first memory foam mattress and I have been delighted with how comfortable it is. I had aches and pains in my hips and shoulders, especially on waking up and these have completely gone away! The bed feels cool and comfortable when you initially get in and fall asleep but the gel does heat up through the night if you are a hot sleeper and it takes a long time to cool down when you move. In summary, this is a great bed if you have arthritis or aches and pains. However, if you overheat at night, this won't solve the problem unfortunately.

This mattress felt fine in the shop but at home it is not as we would want. Too firm and very different feel depending on the ambient temperature. As much as we have tried to convince ourselves that we should stick with it, we can't. My wife said that she no longer feels like she looks forward to getting 'into' bed, more going to lie 'on' bed. Our previous mattress was Tempur and we thought paying the extra for the latest would be a good option. We were wrong. Testing a mattress in the shop is not the same as sleeping on it. Despite this having the word 'smartcool' in its name, this mattress is as hot as any Tempur mattress I have ever experienced. My advice is that although it's very comfortable, if you are a woman of a certain age, do not be fooled by a sales pitch that tells you that 'memory foam isn't hot anymore' and this one has 'smartcool' tech. It is like sleeping in the surface of the sun and is what I imagine being slowly boiled alive would feel like. It gets a three because it is comfy, as long as you have several layers of cooling material between you and it.

I really like this mattress, it's comfortable and no more waking up with aches and pains. For a soft mattress it's quite firm for me. My partner however is not getting on with it and finds it difficult to move in and as a result is waking up with stiff back. It's only been a couple weeks so hopefully over time he will adapt better to this mattress. The cooling element of the mattress isn't as cool as I hoped it would be but is definitely an improvement on from my old mattress.. I would recommend anyone looking to purchase this mattress to try in store.

Love my mattress. Miss it when I am away for Christmas and vacation. Sleep so much better with this. When my friend stayed over at mine, he loved it so much that he is planning to purchase one as well. Quoting him 'I love feeling like I have slept for 8 hours when I have only slept for 6 hours.' I have bought Emma, Simba and Sealy mattresses previously and this is the best. Even converted my partner who does not like memory foam mattresses as he often thinks that those are not great for temperature regulation but he loves this as much as I do.

Ordered this to replace my recently purchased mattress although only 2 years old was starting to hurt my hip joints, this mattress however is amazing. From the first day using my body was just engulfed by softness, my first night as I lay down I thought oh no, this is like sleeping in a block, but as soon as you settle it's like sleeping on sand, that's the only way I can describe it as it moulds to your body. I purchased the soft/medium as I thought the firm would be too hard for me, also my sleep isn't disturbed by hip joint pain anymore.

Excellent product, my last Tempur mattress lasted nearly 20 years, and this one is even better! Whilst expensive, it's well worth it - I have a degenerative spinal condition which requires a supportive mattress, and this one delivers. Bensons was excellent during the buying process - no pushy sales techniques, supportive and knowledgeable about their products. We booked a day for delivery, the mattress arrived on time with friendly & helpful delivery. End to end a great experience and I cant recommend them highly enough!

A very comfortable mattress to sleep on, but getting the softness right is paramount. We tried all the versions instore at Bensons for Beds and settled on the one we bought and it is just right. We were worried that foam mattresses get too hot, but ours doesn't, the mattress protector (same brand) also helps. Another plus is, it's not as heavy as our last mattress (sprung with foam topper) so it's a lot easier to fit the bottom sheet in place, but would have been perfect with a couple of handles on each side to assist.

Bought this in a shop with the incredible help of the bensons sales team that couldn't help me enough and knew their stuff. We tried half of the mattresses in the store but I couldn't get the tempur out of my head. After a month this mattress has helped ease my lower back pain after dealing with a terrible eve mattress. The medium firm is so supportive and perfect for anyone that likes a very firm but malleable surface. Delivery was easy, no fuss and exactly on time, they even took their shoes off at the door! 10/10.

The mattress is well made and cool to sleep on. Unfortunately I am having great difficulty staying asleep on it. My adjustable bed is essential to cope with my lung condition. The mattress is great for about 4 hours and then I awake because I cannot move on it, I lack the physical strength to adjust my position on its surface. This leads to painful hip and shoulder as a side sleeper. I really don't know what to do, I'm not going to get stronger so have to get up and move and hope I can find a new position to sleep.

Was a little skeptic about the mattress especially if it was worth the price. However I can honestly say it's not just lived up to the expectations but exceeded them substantially. Since we have had the mattress both myself and my wife have noticed a reduction in the normal aches and pains that we had learned to accept in the morning. Will it help you get to sleep not really, however when you do it's a more restful and comfortable experience. So yes it's a very good investment and well worth the expense.

I had been receiving a lot of negative opinions on going for the soft version of this mattress when torn between that and the medium, but for me, it's been perfect! I'm a chronic insomniac who travels for work, and to this day, I struggle to sleep on all kinds of mattresses, except for this one! It's been a massive change to my sleep and so beneficial! Mattress firmness is clearly very personal and there is no 'correct' answer, so go with your instincts and hopefully it'll work out as it did for me.

extremely comfortable and well made. a bit smaller in dimension that existing bed, so there's a bit of given between the mattress and the frame but it's still a superking. It's a lot lighter than old mattress though so easier to turn. very happy with it The only thing i wouldn't bother with is the mattress protector by tempur. it's waterproof and gives that horrible noisy, slippy feeling inder a sheet. wouldn't recommend and wouldn't buy as a mattress protector again. stick with something cotton.

Very comfortable once you get used to it. It's very different from conventional mattresses. As you sink into it, it's quite difficult to move around freely, and getting out of bed at first is quite a strange operation. (Think of an upturned crab, waving its legs around!). I wouldn't recommend it if you have a bad back or severe mobility problems, but we are happy with it after several weeks, having adapted our techniques. Also, it makes me very hot, though my husband is fine with it.

The new dawn of beautiful sleeping has begun. We are so happy and glad that we have bought Tempur Plus Smartcool Mattress. Our Tempur memory foam mattress took a couple of weeks to get used to as it is firmer than it felt in the shop (we chose medium/firm). However, we were reassured by the information on the Tempur website, which explained that it would take a week or so for the mattress to relax and soften. We are now having a great night' sleep on a comfortable, supportive mattress. And best of all - absolutely zero transfer of movement when either of us wriggle around!

This is our first Tempur mattress and after over a month of use we are delighted with it. What we noticed when trying Tempur in the shop was how even the support was over your whole body and over the last month this has got rid of various hip and back aches we used to suffer from with our old mattress. Sadly disappointed with this Tempur mattress as went for a medium to firm, tried the demonstrator mattress in showroom which was a medium to firm and that was a much softer mattress, hence why I went for it M/F. The reality is that I've been unable to sleep on it for 5 consecutive nights having to change bedroom through the night to get a comfortable sleep on guest bed. I am contacting Bensons about the new one to see if it can be exchanged.

We made the mistake on laying on this mattress when in store, despite knowing we didn't intend on spending Tempur prices. After laying on this nothing else was going to be good enough so we purchased it. It already is well worth the money. The bed is super comfy, we love that we can't feel one another moving about as I toss and turn a lot. We got the recommended mattress topper along with the mattress however I feel that may have taken away some of the coolness from the top layer of the mattress as we have the matching pillows and can definitely feel the cooling element with just the pillowcase on. May be taking the mattress protector off during summer but amazing otherwise.

Great service from Bensons with friendly staff giving impartial advice. The Tempur mattress is very comfy but should be for the price we paid! It replaced another memory form mattress we had for over 10 years so we have had experience with memory form before. Was hoping the mattress would be cooler then the previous one as technology moves on but see no difference. Only time will tell if it was worth the extra out lay of money.

A very comfortable mattress that provides plenty of support. No sagging, even when sitting on the edge. Its edges are frameless, meaning that it is pliable enough to bend somewhat if you need to move it up a flight of stairs - an important point as my first choice of mattress would not have fitted up the stairwell. The only disadvantage is the lack of handles, which might help when lifting the mattress to change bedding.

Very comfortable and sorted my back problems out from day one which was my main reason for purchasing. Smartcool technology doesn't seem effective - still find it much warmer than my previous non-memory foam mattress so don't think the extra cost is justified. I purchased a Tempur pillow at the same time. Have only used it once as it's big and heavy and no more supportive than my existing pillows so a waste of money.

Best deal around on a Tempur Pro mattress along with Tempur pillows, divan and headboard. Felt a little firm and uncomfortable initially, but read into this and discovered it was normal and that your body takes a little while to adapt, and so it has and we are now finding it very comfortable. We have noticed that if one of you regularly turns or gets up in the night the other person does not notice and is not woken.

This mattress is THE most comfortable and supportive I've ever slept on.EVER! Cool initially on contact but soon warms up and doesn't get too warm (haven't had a summer on it yet though). Great mattress was more firm than our old one but that was a year older , this one is softening up and i am having great nights sleep on it . I would never buy any other mattress , and all of my family now have one , no bad backs ,no stiff necks just a full nights sleep wish id got one 40 years ago . I am still glad we bought it and would not change it but it's proviing very hard to get used to - moving around on it is very difficult as the moment part of the body puts any pressure on it the foam has you sinking in like quick sand which is GREAT for what it needs to do in terms of supporting posture when sleeping but not so great when you are trying to get in bed and get into position in the first place.

Possibly the most comfortable bed I've owned and slept on! Be patient with your new Tempur Pro Plus Smart cool mattress and your nights will be blissfully comfortable. My bed started to feel like mine after approximately 2 weeks, when I found I couldn't wait to get in it at the end of the day! The only downside if I have a criticism is the new smell which dissipates over time with plenty of ventilation.

We were very reluctant to spend such a large sum on a mattress but, now that we've had it for a month or so, we're delighted with it. The mattress is very comfortable albeit quite heavy to move when changing the bedding. The body sinks into the mattress which does reshape when one moves. It is very kind to aching hips and knees, or back. We have a mattress cover but the shaping of the mattress can still be felt underneath. The mattress is warm. I would definitely buy again if the need arose, despite the cost.

After suffering years of painful hips, night sweats, broken sleep and a bad back, I can finally sleep through the night! It doesn't sound like someone is twisting a sheet of bubble wrap when I shuffle down the stairs in the morning now either! Had a previous memory foam mattress but this is far superior. You instantly feel the benefit of the cooling layer, perfect body temperature - not too cold. The firm mattress is hard to the touch but moulds to your body as soon as you sit or lay on it. This has made a significant difference to the quality of my sleep - love it!! This is our second tempur mattress, so we know what we were getting into. The last one lasted 15 years so we were ready for a new one. It was delivered on a very cold day, so wasn't flexible enough to go round the turn in the stairs, but after having the heating on a couple of hours we managed to get it up easily ourselves. Cant recommend this mattress enough. Previously i suffered in pain on previous mattress but this is so comfortable and having good nights sleep now and don't seem to wake as much. Jury's out at the minute. We're both unsure and for the huge cost, this is a little concerning. Wife seems to slide into the middle of the bed which never happens. Oh, and the Tempur mattress protector we were pursuaded to buy for 90 (!!) utter garbage. It's way too slippery and irritating a complete rip off. So far, so disappointing.

We chose the firm one. It is lovely and comfortable. Takes a bit of getting used since it definitely feels different to lie on, but can't fault the comfort. Had it a few weeks only so can't vouch for the longevity. I would recommend it but I don't think everyone would like the feel so strongly advise a thorough try in store first.

Had Tempur Cloud for 12 years. Despite not being sure of the new Cool version, it has been absolutely fabulous. It regulates your temperature to a perfect sleeping temperature, neither too hot nor too cool, just absolutely perfect. Having a manual job means I sometimes suffer with sore shoulder and a bad back but I've had this mattress for over a month now and haven't suffered with any more pain! I have only had my mattress for less than a month so am still getting use to it. It said firm on the label and it certainly is. I hope it will improve my posture. The only downside is that I did not factor in that electric blanket use is not advisable as it 'interferes' with the Tempur technology.

The mattress is firm but really comfortable. It doesn't move when your partner moves around in the night so you almost feel like you're sleeping on your own. Because of the texture of the material of the mattress you need a suitable sheet that doesn't slide over it, as it can be quite slidy.
