When it comes to consumer feedback, the reviews are mostly happy ones. Owners describe the base as sturdy and well made, "Quality made base!" as one put it, and several bought it to go with the headboard: "Really nice base that matches the headboard perfectly." I have had the base for about 5 weeks now. It was very easy to fit the 2 halves together when constructing it. And the gliders allow us to move the bed easily into place. We chose the navy blue velvet and love the look, Its easy to keep the pile running in the right direction as the company provide a little cloth with the base to rub over it. We also got a matching headboard. Once the headboard was attached it does become a lot harder to move. The drawers run smoothly which is important and seem well made, our last base with drawers lasted 35 years - will this one? It seems sturdy and a lot better than some other companies were selling, that we looked at prior to purchase. I would recommend it and am very happy with my new base and mattress that were purchased at the same time.

Bought a Staples bed and would never buy this brand again, we've already had the first one replaced and are now seeing the same issue with the replacement having had an engineer round to assess the bed after numerous back and fourths with "customer service" His opinion is is it's not a manufacturing fault and more to do with the fact they just don't build them will which is why the bas is sagging but not broken!!! Surely the sagging is only going to get worse which will then result in the base failiing and more phone calls and emails. Waste of money never touch a Staples bed

Matched with the Pimlico faux leather headboard. Easy to fit together but do make sure you fit all four glides or castors to each corner of each half (8) before linking. Also if fitting a 2x2 I.E. smaller top draw to allow for bedside tables, double check you are fitting the headboard to the right end as both divan halves have pre-drilled holes. Not a mistake I made fortunately but easily done if fitting yourself. The faux leather looks fantstic. I don't think the online photos do it justice. We are really pleased with it.

Absolutely superb. Just what I was hoping for. The space inside is awesome and it is so easy to lift up. You have to get a bit of weight behind pushing it closed, but after the initial push, the mechanism does the rest. It doesn't bang shut either. The are great - though bright silver, but you hardly notice that at all if silver isn't for you. Mine is a double, but compared to my last bedframe, the footprint is small which is fab if you have a don't have a massive room.

Great divan base, well manufactured and quality really good, but the fittings in the base for attaching the matching headboard are ridiculous! They have put round stickers which supposedly mark the spot for the screw/bolts to attach headboard. Erm no, I had to put a hole in the fabric and then locate a screw fitting that was nowhere near it's supposed location! Very disappointing considering the price and the otherwise good workmanship put into this. A massive failing.

We've been searching for a decent bed for a long time. Thank god for Bensons for beds! We bought the best king size divan there and have not been disappointed with anything. Velvety lushness. My wife is vertically challenged, (5') and with the mattress on top of the base it's deeep. On the first night she polevaulted into bed. We now have a small folding stool at the side. Easy to move as it's on gliders. It's a doddle! Highly recommend this company and this bed!

The Ottoman divan we purchased recently is perfect for us. We had a four drawer divan prior to this, but didn't want to take up more space and our wall hung bedside cabinets block two of the drawers in the limited space we have. So the ottoman divan was the space saving solution. I was concerned about the weight of lifting the ottoman regularly but it's really easy, even with our tempur mattress. Absolutely worth every penny!!

We've had the new base and mattress for several weeks, and love the new mattress and and under bed storage we have. The shop staff were very helpful, and delivery was prompt. Originally we had a problem with the first mattress that was delivered, and did have to wait another week for a replacement, but was felt with promptly, I would be happy to recommend Bensons for beds

Easy assemble, excellent value for money, well made , very courteous delivery team . Very comfortable especially when 30% of your life is in bed , worth the investment up front. No major issues, just a bit of advice feel for the headboard holes first before making hole in fabric, as the alignment stickers are a little bite off the target. I still rate it 100%.

Very nice product and very each to open/close. The solid top surface (instead of slats) is also really welcome (with modern large duvets, slats really don't do anything and are quite weak). The staff were also great and we had a great experience with our sales person, who was able to answer all our questions and guide us to the right solution.

Brilliant bed after having not one but two really bad faulty beds from different company, Bensons came to the rescue with this wonderful well made bed on glides. Lovely material and design. It makes my bedroom look very grand and I have received many compliments. Also, I liked the option of having 4 drawers for storage. The only problem I had was that I needed an extra person to help me fit it all together, especially the headboard as it is quite heavy. But other than that, it's a good sturdy bed!

Well made. It's the second Benson's bed I've purchased. My last one is still a lovely as the day I bought it 7 years ago. Yes you pay a bit more, and I've been stung with trying go cheap, which only costs you in the long run. You pays your money you takes your chance, my old mum always says. The divan is a good quality solidly made Divan base. The configuration of the Drawers being half width at the top and full length at the bottom of the bed is perfect for us as we have a chest of drawers beside the bed wich would not allow us to open the drawer if it was a full sized one. They also glide smoothly offering ample storage.

I was impressed by the base in the shop as the drawers seemed much more solid than the other options. The bases arrived without any marks or damage. The glides were easy to fit, and helped make the final adjustments to get the bed into position. They are quite light, so fitting them together wasn't a problem.

Very comfortable mattress, I've changed from a full sprung cool gel mattress as I have spinal arthritis, we tried numerous hybrid ones in various outlets, but the eve one seemed most comfortable. Once constructed the bed is very comfortable. but the instructions to build it are very poor. The markers for the bolt holes were out of place. One screw was too short so I had to substitute one from the garage. Order of inserting bolts was wrong. Four turn screws missing from headboard

Lovely looking bed base. Struggled to screw the 2 halves of the opening part of the ottoman together despite using a Stanley knife to release some of the material. It is as if the provided bolt isn't long enough. The base screwed together fine and the bed is still functioning

Two of the drawers that both were not installed correctly and I had to re-align them to the fit the rails; also there are some flaws on the surface of one bed which the valvet got scratched and torn. Luckily the colour and the material has made it not significant.

Unlike the mattress, the quality doesn't seem no where as good. The bottom of the bed seem very thin and dips in everywhere and the fabric not connected. Will be getting in contact for someone to come and have a look, not even a month old and doesn't seem right..

Fabulous solid construction, loads of storage underneath and easy to lift open. It is rather more difficult to close because you need to pull/push down evenly on the straps/mattress from head height down to knee level in one continuous sustained motion.

An excellent base unit, just the right height and with masses of storage that is easy to access. Lifting the bed up is so easy, and the hydraulics remove any weight issues, and keep the bed elevated whilst you add or remove items from the storage area.

The divan base was made with quality in mind, the draw space that it came with is large enough. One small dissapoiment was one of the glides that came with the base was damaged and had to get a replacement, but other than that is it a very well made.

Faultless product purchase process. Installers removed the old and constructed the new bed keeping everything in the house clean and dry (it was pouring with rain). Only problem with the new bed is that I don't want to get out of it in the morning!

Entertaining to assemble - gas struts are extremely powerful so be warned! Even with a heavy mattress on top, it takes a lot of effort to close. On the positive side, there is plenty of storage and all easily accessible.

Beautiful colour we went with the navy 4 draws much more room than 2 draws the material of the draws are cordied there was about 12 colours to choose from the base of bed comes in 2 halves which is good for cleaning

Appears well made and easy to move. It could be improved by having handles on the drawers but not a problem as I can fit some to match the other bedroom furniture.

We love this divan bed with drawers. The four drawers with two being smaller so they open easily with a bedside cabinet. Great choice of colours.Very nice divan.

Lots of storage and easy to assemble yourself.Its comes in 2 parts and you need to fit the gas lifting rods .Easy lifting for easy access to storage too
