As a professional mattress reviewer, I take pride in my ability to analyse and evaluate a wide range of products within the bedding and home sector. Having spent the last decade entrenched in all things sleep related, I was simply delighted when presented with the opportunity to review the Alexis Upholstered Ottoman LG TV Bed Frame. This modern, smart bed with built-in technology sparked my interest, not just from a functional perspective, but an aesthetic one too. With this review, I will go into the details of my in-person testing, conducted at our local store, and share my thoughts and experiences with you.
Design and Features
The Alexis Upholstered Ottoman LG TV Bed Frame really does take into consideration the practical and aesthetic needs of today's discerning sleeper. From the independent bedside controls that regulate built-in dimmable LED lighting, to the impressive LG 43" Smart 4K TV which accompanies the bed as standard, the Alexis is a product that doesn't shy away from decadence. There are two options for the accompanying TV: a Smart 4K version and an OLED model. Although the OLED variant provides superior image quality, the price difference at the time of my store visit made the Smart 4K seem better value; I felt the OLED did not justify its extra cost.
Construction
Attention to detail really shows when it comes to the construction of the Alexis Upholstered Ottoman LG TV Bed Frame. The curved, fluted headboard upholstered in a soft-touch woven fabric gives the bed a tactile, luxurious feel while the dimmable LED lighting woven cleverly around the frame lends a soft, ambient glow reminiscent of a high-end hotel suite. Charging ports, USB-A and USB-C, provide convenience for gadget lovers, and the inclusion of a solid mattress base board promises unwavering support throughout the night. True to the brand, the thoughtfully-designed ottoman support bar allows the bed to stay raised whilst in use, a feature that complements the spacious side-opening storage.
Suitability
With its intelligent design and sophisticated features, the Alexis Upholstered Ottoman LG TV Bed Frame finds its niche among those who value functionality with a touch of elegance. The bed's integral sound system and hidden TV transform the intimate space of a bedroom into a private home theatre, a feature particularly appreciated by tech-savvy individuals and lovers of modern conveniences. With the upholstery available in grey, navy or soft oatmeal tones, it can blend with various decor styles, making it a versatile candidate for a range of settings.
What Customers Thought
Engagement with other customers who have purchased and experienced the Alexis Upholstered Ottoman LG TV Bed Frame added further depth to my review. Owners mostly write about how the bed looks and how well it's made. "Beautifully made bed", one wrote, and another said "the upholstery looks stylish and premium". The TV goes down well too. One owner called the soundbar "surprisingly good".
The built-in lights and charging points are popular, though one owner found that "the backlight around the headboard sometimes has a low flicker" and another said the "lights could be a bit brighter". One owner reported "a continuous low humming sound (like a fan) coming from the TV end", even with the TV off and lowered. More than one owner would rather the side shelf for a Sky box or games console were optional. Several recommend having the bed assembled for you, and one who did called the build "complex".
The Verdict
On balance, the Alexis Upholstered Ottoman LG TV Bed Frame is clearly a product that brings together style, innovation, and utility to create a memorable bedroom fixture that appeals to the modern consumer. While my in-store review provided me with an appreciation of the bed's quality and functionality, I remain sceptical of the actual price-value equation involving the OLED TV variant. With the Smart 4K variant offering significant savings while maintaining an impressive level of quality, I would strongly recommend opting for the more affordable model. I believe that the Alexis Upholstered Ottoman LG TV Bed Frame raises the bar in the fusion of sleep and entertainment. It's more than just a bed - it's an entire experience.
