The Staples & Co Premium Divan Base is a high-quality bed base designed to complement the Staples & Co line of mattresses sold through the popular retailer, Bensons for Beds. The base features a strong and sturdy timber frame made from responsibly managed forests and is upholstered by hand in a choice of premium upholstery fabrics, including velvet, faux leather, and linen. Customers can also choose from a range of colours to match their decor. The base is finished with luxury orbit castors with a nickel finish, making it easy to move and position the bed. In addition, the base is available with extra storage options, including drawers or an Ottoman base meaning you can find the right bed base for your room regardless of storage needs or existing room decor.
Owners mostly describe a sturdy, good-looking base. One wrote that "It feels sturdy once built, and the colour looks beautiful in the room", and plenty found it easy to put together. The drawers come up often, usually with praise: "Deep drawers slide easily" and "the drawers are very roomy" are typical. Several owners say the castors make the bed easy to move for cleaning underneath. Some reviews cover the whole bed, mattress included: one owner called it "the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in".
The complaints are fewer, but specific. Assembly beat some owners: one wrote that "assembly was a nightmare as took 3 of us over an hour to do", and said the blue dots marking the hidden nuts for the headboard bolts were badly placed. One owner found the drawers "not as deep as my old divan", another found "the castors are hard to move on carpet", and an ottoman buyer said the storage floor "flexes badly with a small amount of pressure applied".
The rest are about what arrived. Some bases came damaged ("Base arrived today all scuffed at the end", one owner wrote) or with faults, such as a sag in one place and a "missing insert for headboard screw on one side", and some owners wrote about slow replies and waits of weeks for a replacement after delivery. We've been in the divan industry for a while and these are all fairly common niggles that are easily put right by the experienced customer support team at Bensons for Beds. None of the negative comments gave us any particular concern and are generally outweighed by the many positive indicators.
