Featuring a classic button-detail design on the headboard, the Jenkins Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame offers an evergreen style that complements any bedroom decor.
The under-bed storage space provided by this bed frame is generous and discreet, offering a practical solution for storing bedroom essentials.
The upholstered finish and overall design of the Jenkins bed frame effortlessly combine practicality with comfort, ensuring it serves as a restful retreat at the end of a long day.
This bed frame showcases effective design consideration, ensuring ease of access and use while maintaining appealing aesthetics.
Finally, the Jenkins bed frame is highly rated by users for its quality and durability within the given price range, marking it as a great value pick for any household.

The soft woven fabric, though aesthetically appealing, may not wear well over time, resulting in potential fraying or pilling.
Due to the height of the distinctive quilted headboard, those with slanted ceilings or overhead restrictions may encounter difficulties upon installation.
Although the integrated ottoman support bar holds the bed up well while in use, it may present a risk for individuals prone to stub their toes or small children.
Despite its classic design, customers desiring a more contemporary or minimalist aesthetic may find the button detailing on the headboard not aligned with their personal style.

What our reviewers found

Welcome to another in-depth review from your trusted mattress and home industry expert. Today, I'm looking at the Jenkins Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame. For those who value a combination of elegance, practicality, and comfort, the Jenkins Ottoman seems promising on first inspection. But, as we know, definitive judgement should be made only when we've examined every little detail.

How We Tested

Our efforts to scrutinise the Jenkins Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame spanned several in-store sessions, testing it rigorously for comfort, style, functionality, and overall quality, amongst other factors. Regrettably, we did not have the opportunity to perform a home trial, which might have offered additional insight. Still, our strenuous in-store evaluations were thorough and paint a rather reliable picture of this bed frame's performance.

Design and Features

The Jenkins bedframe is undeniably a statement piece with its soft woven fabric upholstery and timeless button detailing. The high quilted headboard presents a visual charm, giving the room an undeniable aura of sophistication. The bed frame is available in limited colour options, which might restrict its suitability for some decor styles.

Beyond aesthetics, we appreciated the space-saving ottoman storage, with an internal storage depth of 22cm managed by a reliable support bar for stability. However, some might find this storage depth a tad shallow for larger items. Even with these slight constraints, the integrated feet and solid construction enhance the bed frame's stability, offering peace of mind.

Construction

The Jenkins Ottoman Bed Frame is well-designed with a focus on durability and comfort. The distinctive tall headboard comes with button detailing that has luxurious charm. However, the appeal is not just limited to aesthetics; this bed frame also incorporates a functional storage solution. The ottoman storage, albeit a bit shallow at 22cm, offers ample space to keep away your bed linens, spare pillows, or even some seasonal clothing.

The bed frame's construction includes an ottoman support bar and integrated feet. This design promotes stability, ensuring that the bed stays firmly grounded even when the ottoman is in use. The bedframe includes hidden vents on the mattress base board that allow your mattress to breathe. This is a small but key detail which can have a significant impact on your sleep hygiene.

Suitability

The Jenkins Ottoman Bed Frame might be an ideal choice for people who crave a sophisticated bedroom aesthetic coupled with a practical storage solution. However, those who have a unique and specific decor theme in their room might find the limited colour options slightly disappointing. Storage-seeking customers might be put off by the 22cm internal storage depth, which might be insufficient for large or bulky items. Regarding the extra professional assembly fee of £90, it's something to take into account if you're not comfortable assembling it on your own.

What Customers Thought

Our research includes a thorough examination of authentic customer reviews. One such customer appreciated the classic look of a buttoned headboard projecting the Jenkins Bed Frame as a perfect fit in any bedroom setting. The reviewer also mentioned the ample storage space under the bed which could be used to keep bedroom essentials tucked neatly away. However, this does stand in juxtaposition with our observation about it potentially being shallow for some users.

The Verdict

After our in-store testing and research, it is fair to say that the Jenkins Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame is a valuable proposition if you want elegance and practicality in their bedroom. The refined design with an eye-catching headboard indeed sets a luxurious aesthetic.

The ottoman-style storage can manage a fair number of items, although the 22cm depth might limit storing larger objects. Reports of delivery delays and damages are areas where the seller might need to improve. On the product quality front, the bed frame promises a good blend of aesthetics and functionality. Its limited colour option might pare down the appeal a bit, but those unconcerned with such specifics will find the Jenkins Bed Frame a worthy investment for their bedrooms.

I had my eye on this bed and kept going to look at it in different stores. I was moving house and when I got to my new house without a bed, had to sleep on my new mattress on the floor still trying to decide. I ordered a white wood bed but it wasn't suitable so I sent it back. I decided to go for this one. Jenkins in oatmeal Dreams were great, when changing the address and keeping me up to date with my order. It was delivered with communication too. The bed was packed neatly with instructions and sachet to prevent damp. It was fairly easy to assemble with 2 people as far as assembling furniture goes. At the end we had to refer to youtube to see why it wouldn't go down, it was because we needed to put the mattress on the base. I wasn't happy with the colour and still am not, this isn't Dreams fault, although they could do with taking this review into consideration to think about a new training for their staff when helping customers decide to buy a bed The reason I am not happy is because the colour on the headboard looks like it's had dirty heads against it. This is due to the light. Natural light and the way the room faces makes a big difference to how the bed appears. The bed feels and look good quality and the room appear expensive. In the morning the bed looks ok when the lights shines different, I have had to change the headboard around so it's not as visible when I walk into the room. Consider the light in your room and bulb to avoid the headboard appearing darker than in the showroom which has bright lights upon it

They came on time within the time slot they said they would and got cracking straight away. When they were done they asked me to have a look at it and tell them if it was ok. Then they went through how to lift up the bed and how to look after the mattress. The bed is a treat to sleep in

I recently purchased the bed frame from Dreams Cribbs causeway Bristol, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The design is sleek with a modern finish that complements my bedroom decor perfectly. The wood material feels robust and adds a cozy flair to the room. Comfort-wise, the bed frame does an excellent job of supporting my mattress, ensuring a restful nights sleep. I particularly appreciate the additional storage options that allow me to keep my space tidy. Assembly team were straightforward. With clear head of what they were doing, they were able able to set it up in under an hour. The quality is impressive; it feels sturdy and well-made, no wobbling or squeaks even after a month of use. Overall, I believe the price reflects the quality I received, making it a worthwhile investment. I would highly recommend this bed frame to anyone looking for style and durability.

We downsized when moving house so an ottoman stage bed was essential to make up for the lost wardrobe space. Dreams were the only store that has a range of ottoman beds that offered a divan style solid base, perfect for us as slatted beds are not as strong and supportive. We were genuinely split for choice but opted for the Jenkins as the style and size of storage were perfect. Having attached headboard was a bonus. The entire service from order, to pre and post delivery have been nothing short of excellent. Such lovely and accommodating staff. We opted for Dreams to assemble the bed and glad they did. The staff did a great job and were very tidy too.

Absolutely lovely bed so much storage and do easy to lift/close. When choosing the bed staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, all questions answered fully. We chose delivery to suit us which was no problem. The delivery men were brilliant both were polite, mindful of property. Jack who noticed a very small mark on mattress tried to remove it, he informed us that we would be getting a call from customer services who would give us options with the mattress. We would not hesitate on choosing dreams again.

This has been everything we hoped. We have in a super king, the bed comes with a premium finish and feels exceptionally good quality. It was built by Dreams staff who left our room as they found it, taking all of the packaging away with them. The opening and closing of the bed is relatively easy, though requires enough effort to reassure us that our young children wouldn't be able to lift it independently. There is a mountain of space underneath. High recommended

It's nice to have a bed that doesn't have wooden ribs underneath that sqwark. This frame is fit for purpose, a nice material and seems solid. The storage aspect is great and easy to use. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. My only minor gripe is the frame is a flat surface. No indentation or lip for a mattress so the mattress can slide left and right on the frame. Apart from occasionally straightening my mattress on the bed, nothing to complain about.

Fab experience from Dreams in Gloucester, was met by a great member of the team who spent alot of time with us helping us choose our new bed for our new home. Dreams were really good at chamging delivery dates and addresses and were always at the end of the phone for any questions and queries we had. The products we recieved are amazing and we've never slept so well. The two guys that built the bed were professional and speedy. Definitely recommend!

I was very pleased to find this ottoman divan in my local store. I already own a similar bed but that one is operated electrically. As this bed was for my guest room I would not need frequent access so I had settled on a manual ottoman. However at 76 years of age I had to ensure that I could open it if I needed to. This particular bed was the easiest model to open and while it is still quite a weight I can manage it.

The bed frame adds that something extra to the bedroom. Almost stately. Its very sound in construction and lift the mattress to access the storage beneath is very easy. as to how comfortable it is with the Heston 4700 spring mattress... I have no idea as I got kicked into the spare room after 3nights because supposedly I snore. Ive never heard it! My wife looks 10 years younger though.

Lovely bedframe and easy to lift as I am petite. Well made and what we wanted. We ordered the Oatmeal colour, it looked beige in the shop. However when it was delivered it was certainly more green and was the wrong colour for my beige bedding. Unfortunately it was returned but Dreams were very helpful and we got our money back. No problem. Just disappointed.

You often find that Ottomans either open easily and are difficult to close or are difficult to open and close easily. Somehow this frame feels like it's helping you to open and close, so it feels much lighter and practical than alternatives we tried. The material is good quality too and with no slats, it gives you good piece of mind

Having had an ottoman bed at another property before, when our bed needed replacing, another ottoman bed was what we went looking for. We looked at quite a few different ones in our local Dreams store, but settled on this one as it met all our requirements. It suits our bedroom & meets all our storage needs so an excellent buy,

We have had lots of comments on our bed frame and how everyone wishes they had one. I'm quite tall so its nice to have the mattress higher. Storage is ample for us and its easy to access considering our mattress weight is probably pushing the weight recommendations. Its not hard work to open at all. Very sturdy construction.

Fantastic ottoman bed frame. Great quality and the additional space under the bed is fabulous. Unlike other ottoman bed frames this Jenkins model is so easy to lift up with the mattress fitted. Great frame, looks very stylish, easy to open and close. Only difficulty is if you need to move the bed, the panel that form the bottom of the storage can fall off. But in practice, you don't really move your bed that often, and you can just put them back

Which mattress would you suggest for this type of bed, as it has a solid platform as opposed to slacks? I have the Swaffham but i find it very hard as theres no bounce. I am using two toppers to make it softer and more comfortable. Maybe Swaf is too low?

What makes the Jenkins Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame great?

We've expanded on the specifications of the product to better help you understand its benefits.

Space-saving ottoman storage

Built-in lift-up storage helps keep bedding, clothes, or spare pillows neatly tucked away, which can make a smaller room feel less cluttered. The trade-off is that accessing items takes an extra step compared with open under-bed storage, and the lifting mechanism may feel heavier when the base is fully loaded.

Rest easy with our 1-year guarantee

A one year guarantee is suitable for many as the vast majority of problems that may occur often do so within that first year. At the same time, more and more retailers are beginning to offer multi-year warranty and guarantees although these often come at a slightly higher price point on average.

Internal storage depth: 22cm

This sort of storage depth is ideal for pillows, spare duvets and other trinkets that you need to store away in the bedroom. The depth here is probably not suitable for those looking to replace full drawer sets, however, should provide great additional storage for those with limited room.

Tall, quilted headboard with button detailing

This creates a comfortable surface to lean against for reading or watching TV, with extra padding that can feel warmer and softer than a plain wooden panel. Button detailing can trap a bit more dust and may take slightly longer to clean than a smooth, flat headboard.

Integrated feet for stability

Integrated feet play an essential role in maintaining balance, reducing potential wobbles or imbalance even with constant shifting weight. Furthermore, they reduce the risk of damage to flooring from scratches or scuffs, enhancing the item's longevity.

Upholstered in a soft woven fabric

There are many benefits to using lightly textured woven fabric. The fabric is less likely to wrinkles, making it ideal for headboards and bed frames. What's more, woven fabric is more durable and less prone to damage making it ideal for daily use.

Available in your choice of colours

Multiple colour options make it easier to match existing décor and bedding, helping the room look more coordinated. Limited availability of certain shades can sometimes mean longer lead times or fewer choices at the point of purchase.

Ottoman support bar keeps the bed raised while in use

When the bed is opened, the support bar keeps the bed raised and prevents it from closing unintentionally, which can ensure your safety while you are accessing the storage area.
