Slumberland vs Emma Mattress Reviews

Before purchasing this Benson's mattress (<a href="http://bensonsforbeds.co.uk" target="_blank">bensonsforbeds.co.uk</a>), I discovered that the firmness of a mattress should be determined by a person's weight and sleeping position. There are many guides on the internet about this, such as sleepfoundation/best-mattress/mattress-firmness I am approx. 168 lbs in weight and a side sleeper, so I was very confident a good quality mattress which was medium firmness would be the best firmness for me. I am not disappointed with the Slumberland Natural Solutions 2000 medium firmness mattress. It is very comfortable although it feels much harder than my old mattress which was 17 years old and completely worn out. I chose the Natural Solutions 2000 mattress as it has natural fillings which are more breathable than foam layer mattresses. These natural fillings allow body heat to dissipate more efficiently than foam layered mattresses. This was very important to me as I live in a very well insulated building in a 1st floor flat, which also receives a lot of direct sunlight through the windows throughout the day and I tend to be a slightly 'hot' sleeper. I have not felt too warm in bed during August 2023 with my new Naturals mattress. The Slumberland Natural Solutions 2000 is also very good value for money when compared with other similar mattresses on the internet. The outer material feels high quality and so do the pocket springs when lying on them. It has 2000 pocket springs which helps isolate any movement a sleeping partner might make which helps to aid a good night's sleep, especially if someone sleeps with a 'restless' sleeper. Albeit expensive, what an absolutely fantastic mattress. We tried a few in the store (Llandudno) and were given loads of different tips, advice, and guidance, but this one really stood it for us in terms of quality, comfort, and price. We bought this alongside a King-sized ottoman and we could not be happier. Having used this mattress for just over two weeks, it's somewhat hard to believe, but we have slept-through the night every single night since we bought it, which isn't common for us! It is ridiculously comfortable, and just gets comfier the longer you lie on it. There is plenty of room to lie in comfort without disturbing the other person, and it doesn't seem to get too hot at night either. Despite the 1-star reviews - which I 100% disagree with - we have tried and tried to replicate the 'rolling over disturbs the other person' claim but it's just not true! The mattress seems to give a perfect balance when rolling over, and when awake or asleep, you can barely feel it. Once you're lying down, you just get comfier and you tend to stay in the same position without gettimg achey or fidgety which is great. I am a side-sleeper, and other half is a front-sleeper, and we adore this mattress. It suits us both perfectly. Our main concerns are that it is quite a tall mattress, so feels quite high off the ground/our bedside table at times (especially with our ottoman bedfeame), and extra deep fitted sheets only just cover the mattress on each side. We also just have a mattress topper, but are considering getting a full mattress cover (i.el wrap around the whole thing) instead, just to protect it that little bit more around the edges.

I wanted to use the mattress for a while before posting a review so after having slept on it for 2 months …. - woke up after the first night and realised I got up without backpain. I have a crushed vertebrae and most mornings I ache so this was a good start. 60 nights later I have also discovered that if I have back pain after a day I go to bed and I wake up with less pain so the mattress is definitely aiding my aches very well. - I suffer from insomnia and yet again since having bought this mattress I have been sleeping so well that even those nights are getting less and less. When I do have sleepless nights it is so comfortable it doesn't bother me to lay awake and just listen to some relaxing music. I have medium firmness by the way. The one thing I have noticed is that the topper is not holding its shape all that well. It's only me using the mattress so that's a bit of a concern at the moment and something I will need to watch as the months go by. But after a lifetime of mattresses and back pain and sleepless nights this is the one and only mattress that so far has aided that THE BEST. Definitely worth buying if you have struggled with some of the same issues I have.

I've had this mattress coming up to 3 years and it's the biggest mistake ever. It was amazing at first, I bought a form as I'm a stomach sleeper. Now I wake up multiple times in the night with back back as it dips in the middle.. apparently this is perfectly normal. It is apparently supposed to mould into your body, no it does not. It dips in the middle. I honestly this there is a design fault with the memory foam but Bensons for beds will never admit to this. I emailed bensons for beds customer service and the advice I received was to sleep on the edges to help flappen it down so it's more even. This isn't even a joke , I have the emails, I was told how I should sleep and what positions. I sleep alone and have down since I bought this bed, I'm not over weight either, that shouldn't even matter if I was over weight, I can't imagine how bad this mattress would be if it was getting bounced on regularly. I'm 5ft2 and 9st so for it to dip in the middle is absurd. I've had a mattress technician around today to measure it and do some test on it. I'm under no illusions bensons for beds are going to tell me it's all perfectly normal. Well it's not perfectly normal. I bought a memory foam topper hoping this would help but it hasn't. They told me I wasn't turning it enough. Wrong - I turned it every 3 weeks, now I'm doing it weekly.. The excuses they will make up to tell you this is normal for a mattres.. Well no it is not, I had a silent night memory foam for 10 years prior and not a single problem with that. Looks like I'll be buying another mattress as I know I can't carry on sleeping on this, I don't look forward to going to bed as I wake up multiple times. And how do I know it's the mattress keeping me awake? Well I've been away for 2 weeks and it was the best nights sleep I've had in a very long time as the mattress was amazing and I didn't get a back ache once. So please let my experience be a warning, there are loads of amazing mattresses out there, please don't waste your money on this. I'm not looking into getting a new mattress.

I loved this mattress in store. It was delightfully firm and supportive, while also being really comfortable and seemed like it would offer me the support I really wanted and solve the aches and discomfort I was experiencing with the mattress I had at the time. It was notably more than I intended to spend, but it was on offer and I felt it would be a worthwhile investment. I wish I hadn't bothered. I really wish I'd just gone for a much cheaper mattress from an online store. I think the quality would have been comparable, the cost a lot less, and the delivery much faster. Within a few weeks, despite turning the mattress as required every wee (and boy, is this mattress heavy) it had developed a noticeable dip. When I took photos of this dip and sent it to Bensons, I was told this was normal, did not look like a fault and therefore I could not get a refund. I was offered to exchange my mattress under the 40 night guarantee, but told that I would have to pay 10 percent of my original purchase price to do so, and pay another delivery charge of £49. Also, because my mattress had been on sale when I ordered it, if I simply chose the same mattress again (in the hopes this was just a faulty mattress) I'd have to pay the difference of several hundred pounds. I pressed the issue, and a technician was sent out to see if the product was faulty. He was very nice and empathised with my frustrations, but he said, according to Bensons, this type of dipping, even within weeks (and despite it causing me back pain) was considered acceptable. I understand that some settling is normal, but a dip of over 1cm (nearly 1.5cm) in under 3 weeks? That's not acceptable to me. Especially not at this rice point. It's very noticeable when lying on the 'edge' of the dip, and I can feel myself rolling in to it. I'm just really disappointed. The pre-sale service I received in store was great, but the product is clearly not of an acceptable quality, and the after-purchase customer service was very poor. It's been 2 years now, so here is a review after 2 years of sleeping on it. I am a larger lady who has many disabilities that cause a lot of bodily pain, I have Neuropathy, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, ME, spondylitis of the neck and spine and a crumbling spine, sciatica etc. I tell you this because it's very important to find that perfect mattress when you have physical disabilities. I can not tell you the difference this mattress has made to my life. As soon as I lay down on it, it was like heaven, it was like I was weightless and 2 years on it is still the same, every time I get on it, it feels as good as the first time. My pain levels at night decreased by a lot, i used to wake constantly with hip pain, since sleeping on this Emma Mattress I have not woke with hip pain once! my sleep is deeper and longer, which has made a massive difference in my everyday life. The mattress has zero lumps, bumps, springs, coils, it's just like a smooth cloud. The mattress is that fantastic and feels so good under your body that when I put my electric blanket on top of it, and I have a very expensive thick electric blanket, I hated the feel of it and had to take my electric blanket off. You will be just fine with your electric blanket on top of the mattress, but having fibromyalgia, they used to call fibromyalgia 'The princess and the pea disease' because you can feel every stitch, lump, bump ect and every stitch, lump and bump causes so much pain, but the Emma mattress feels like a smooth cloud, you actually feel weightless. It was the best decision I ever made to get this mattress, it was more expensive than any other mattress I have purchased previously, but it is worth so much more than that just to have a pain free, long, cosy nights sleep. It's also not to hot for menopause, I don't know why that myth was put out there but it's just fine temperature wise. I also bought my son one, he has cerebral palsy and he agrees with me about how amazing they are, especially if you suffer from any aches and pains. Just buy one, do it, you will be amazed how great they are.

I think the mattress is great but my wife thinks it is a little hard. I have not had any back ache since we bought the matress. Our previous mattress was killing my back and had become extremly unsupportive. The delivery staff were great as they brought the new mattress in and removed the old one. I would have never been able to move the old mattress so having the gentlemen take our wornout one away was really helpful. We left the Emma mattress to vent and take shape over the stipulated time. Not sure how we could ever have returned it though as the delicery staff removed the box it came in and I would never have been able to compress it into such a small roll again. The extensive strong plastic wrap retained the compression forces which I imagine were processed at the factory so I can not think how it could be completed at home. I love the mattress and have slept well since it was delivered and the back ache has not returned.

We bought the Emma Hybrid AirGrid Mattress in October as a replacement for our king-sized Sloom mattress from South Africa after relocating to the UK, and we've been extremely happy with the experience so far. The mattress strikes a great balance in firmness - it's supportive without being too hard, and we've had no back pain since using it. Sleep quality has been noticeably better, and it's been comfortable from the very first night without needing a long 'breaking in' period. Delivery was smooth and right on schedule, which made the whole purchase experience stress-free. What really stood out for us was the price as it was significantly more affordable than other mattresses in the same range, yet the quality hasn't felt compromised at all. Overall, we're very pleased with our purchase and would confidently recommend the Emma Hybrid AirGrid to anyone looking for a high-quality, comfortable mattress at a great price.

Having slept on an Emma memory foam mattress a few times and loved it when staying with family I was expecting great things from what I assumed would be an upgraded and better product. As well as the experience on the memory foam mattress I’d spent weeks reading reviews and was confident this mattress would deliver on the three things we most wanted - comfort, minimal motion transfer, and a cool sleep. Sad to say my wife and I are disappointed on two of those things. Comfort wise I’ve no grumbles, but I’m a fidget and mover in bed and my wife reckons it’s like sleeping on a boat, and to be honest, I don’t find it any better than the 30 yr old mattress we both got rid of. In addition we both find it quite a bit warmer than the old mattress as well. With the pocket springs covered by layers of various foams it is nothing like the memory foam mattress we’d tried at our daughters. I’m disappointed that I can easily feel the springs through the sides and bottom (just a couple of layers of fabric) - in fact it actually feels quite cheaply made to me. I guess I should have expected this from a roll up mattress, but no one mentioned this in any of the dozens of reviews I read! Maybe I’m just fussy, but I wouldn’t get another one.

I’m a bit disappointed with this product. We previously owned an Emma Original mattress purchased in 2020, which was the best mattress we’ve ever had. Based on that experience, I expected this one to be the same or at least similar. However, despite being called “Original,” it is nothing like the one we had before. The old mattress was entirely memory foam, whereas this one has pocket springs with only a thin layer of foam on top, which makes it feel quite firm. Had I realised this, I would never have purchased it. In addition, because the underside consists of hard springs, the mattress slides on the base and needs to be pushed back into place regularly. MattressOnline have offered to exchange the mattress for a different one but as we would be unable to test the mattress, we would simply be swapping it for another unknown model that may not be any better, so we have decided to keep it. However, this will definitely be the last time we purchase an Emma mattress
