I had been so looking forward to my new bed as I have back problems, and although my old mattress had been fantastic, it needed to be replaced. I bought all new bedding and pillows in preparation for a mattress which had been described to me by the salesman as the store's version of those used by Premier Inn after my in-store sleep analysis. I love a Premier Inn mattress and can always rely on their comfort for a great night's sleep. Sadly, my mattress was uncomfortable from the first night exacerbating my pelvic problems on my left side. On the second night, I slept on my right side to try and relieve the discomfort. On the third night I was dreading going to bed, and am only now still sleeping on the mattress as my friend provided a mattress topper for me to use on the third night. However, this is not ideal as I still wake up stiff, so I will be definitely taking advantage of the 40 night guarantee scheme - on night 15 so far and counting down! This just seems too firm for a medium mattress.

Well, for the time being, we're reserving our total judgement. We think we're getting used to it but have a few 'not sure' thoughts: 1. It's a deeper mattress than our previous one which was an earlier version of this mattress which we'd been happy with but was 11 years old. For someone of 5'1" it's almost impossible to perch on the edge - which isn't as firm as our previous one very soft around the edge. 2. After only two or three days' sleep, there are obvious dips in the top of the mattress where our lower backs and bottoms lie. This surprised us. These dips don't disappear as the mattress settles. Is this normal? When we ordered this mattress, the advisor explained the benefits of the improved memory-foam layer perhaps I need to call him and ask about it. We chose the 'firmer' version of the mattress and we're hoping it was a good choice. Hopefully we will soon feel it was a good choice.

I've put off buying a new mattress for years as I've been worried about getting something I ended up not liking. My partner and I differed in what we thought we would want and after trying every bed in the shop we picked this one. It's soft and cosy and still supports you. My partner is large and tosses and turns a lot but the movement doesn't bounce me like our last mattress did! We've had it 3 weeks now and are loving it. The first night it felt firmer than I remembered from the shop and I panicked but it softened quickly with use. It's bouncy but supportive and not too sweaty. It is very thick though, so even buying an "extra deep" sheet from Dunelm it still slides off. The mattress protector from Slumberland I purchased at the time with the mattress fits perfectly though.

Adding this review as Bensons couldn't be bothered to reply, Dear Benson for Beds, Thank you for today's delivery and the initial bed buying in store at Truro. So disappointed today on the arrival of our new mattress and why yourselves would send an 800 mattress in such a poor condition. The plastic covering was covered in a black storage dust, this black dust ends on the stair carpets, walls, landing carpet and bedroom carpets. Your delivery guys said to watch the black dust and to wash hands before handling the mattress itself, so equally disappointed following this advice to then find even more black marks on the mattress itself. This must be an ongoing issue and lets the whole process down?

If I could leave more stars I would. I cant fault the bed. I suffer terribly with nerve pain in my lower back and hip and barely slept for weeks until I got this mattress. I had a wonderful shop assistant Elaine (If I remember correctly) walk me around the show room and point out each mattress to me. This was the second mattress I tried and could of fell asleep then and there. I have noticed not only am i sleeping better my posture as improved and my pain has gone down a lot. Its is a thick sturdy mattress and it has the cushion and bounce to help you roll over. I would say this is a medium firm mattress. I would recommend this mattress to anyone and everyone.

The mattress was delivered on time by driver Dave and mate Chichi, they were very pleasant friendly, careful, they unloaded,brought it up the drive, in the front door, up the stairs and had it on bed with over removed in no time. They then took always the old spring . mattress which was not an easy job as it was falling to pieces , they be commended on their service. The mattress is very comfortable and being higher than the previous one, for a man of 89 it is easier to get in and out of bed. The only very minor problem is rotating it once a week for the first few months, but it is all worth while. I would recommend one of this type to anyone else

Literally so comfortable. Great price for a mattress brand I hadn't heard of but the reviews were really good and right! It's so comfortable, I sleep so well in it now and so does my husband. I used to dread bedtime as my mattress was so broken but love it now. Only complaint is that it's so hard to get up in the morning now! I did ache for the first 4-5 nights of sleeping on it as I just wasn't used to having support, but we've had it 3 weeks and best purchase of the year. Highly recommend. Don't really feel each other when you roll over which is good and seems to be good for sports recovery too.

Perfect mattress - so so comfortable, wish I'd changed it long before now . Best nights sleep I've had since I got it so thank you for your help and also a big thank you to the delivery men, they were so helpful and immensely careful so they deserve a lot of credit for the weight that mattress is carrying it up our stairs and not one grumble . Had the slumberland air 6 mattress about a week now and it's the most comfortable we have ever had my wife has bad back slipped disc and and I have fibromyalgia we both struggled getting a decent nights sleep on our old silentnight one on this new one we both sleep through and wake up with less pain can't thank the staff at the Bolton Horwich store enough no pushy or hard sell just showed us mattresses within our price range let us try them all even let us leave and come back as we wanted to make sure we picked the right one

Good sturdy mattress and is great on a bed frame with slats. However, I purchased the wrong firmness for me by picking soft it was too soft to the point where I felt like I was stuck in the mattress as you sink in a lot and it's hard to move. There also is no edge support because the memory foam is so thick. Felt weird and squishy like a water bed. Maybe a medium would have been better for me but overall it's a very soft mattress. If you are an average weight stick to medium or firm for softness but better support.

Bought due to bank pain with last mattress. I haven't had such a good nights sleep since this arrived! I won't lie, it's chunky and heavy (I feel like the princess & the pea!) but it's so comfortable. I don't get too hot or too cold, it's got the seal of approval from both me and my partner and we usually argue over mattress comfort so happy days all round. Although it says small double it was actually a king size mattress we ordered. It is sooooo comfortable!! We have had a great nights sleep every night since receiving it. We had previously tried an Emma mattress which in my opinion was like sleeping on a park bench in comparison! Not for us at all! But this slumberland mattress is heaven!! After not sleeping well at all on the previous mattress we headed to Bensons to physically try out mattresses and this one came up trumps! Best mattress we've ever had!

Value for money a little iffy, I had originally seen this mattress for 749 two days earlier when I tried it out, when it came to ordering online the price had gone up by 100! No longer in the sale, low and behold now it's in the sale again, as I needed a new mattress and the order time was around 4-5 weeks I place the order. So much for treating customers fairly though! If in doubt, hold out because they will always put it back on sale! I won't be buying from them again? Buyers, you've been warned.

It seems like a really good mattress. I'd been sleeping on something pretty terrible. I have a bad lower back and I'd been waking up every night in great discomfort. I haven't woken up once with my back since having the new mattress. I tend to wake up now feeling incredibly cosy. The mattress is very deep and welcoming. It feels soft enough for initial comfort and allows me to sleep in any position, but there must be enough support that my back isn't troubled. Very pleased with the purchase.

I love my new mattress! I like a medium but after trying it out in the shop the medium in the shop felt far too soft so I purchased the firm. I was fearful it would be too hard but it isn't. The softness of the memory foam top is cosy and the mattress is still supportive. It's perfect for my husband and I know in a few weeks it will be perfect for me once bedded in. I have slept wonderfully on it with no aches and pains in the morning! I just don't like getting out of my new bed!!

We read the reviews on this award winning mattress before purchasing and then tried it out in the Bensons showroom in Bournemouth. The only change we made when ordering was to order the firm because that actually does offer great support for the back. We have been really impressed with the quality and comfort of the Airstream Memory 6000 and with the service that we received at Bensons. The bed is perfect for my back problems. It is giving me good support and has a layer of memory foam which cushions my hips.The assistant was very helpful, answering our questions and giving us plenty of time to make our decision. My only suggestion is that the edge of the bed could be firmer. Some older people need to sit on the edge of the bed for a few minutes to get their balance before standing up. Delivery men were on time, efficient and friendly.

When we tried in the shop was much much softer than when delivered. I couldn't sleep as it was so hard and hurt my hips, back and shoulders. If it had been like that in the shop we wouldn't have purchased it. I am starting to get used to it, but is definitely not a medium mattress and no give in it. We went back to the shop to try the mattress in there and was told by the shop assistant to get active or jump on it to try and make it softer!!

A very comfortable bed and mattress. however I was horrified to see how high the bed and mattress were when they were delivered. when I tried the mattress and bed in the store I had no trouble getting onto the bed to test the mattress. Now I need a footstool to get into bed. Apart from that I am pleased with my purchase but I would have been pleased if the discrepancy with the height had been brought to my attention when I bought the bed.

Bought this to replace an old traditional sprung mattress and things have moved on so much. Feels like you sink into it as soon as you lie down thanks to the 6cm memory foam but it still provides the support with the pocket springs. Best of both worlds really. No issues getting used to it at all. Would definitely say to go for the soft version. Motion isolation is great with this mattress as well and you also seem to move less yourself.

From the first night spent on this mattress I have enjoyed instant comfort, an experience I had not felt for years when sleeping on my previous mattress. Very comfortable and easy on the joints. This is a deep mattress and I have had to buy new fitted sheets to accommodate this. Not a bad thing as any excuse to buy new sheets was welcome! Just one thing to note only one top/bottom end has a handle which makes turning the mattress a little more difficult. All in all the mattress has exceeded my expectations and I am happy with our purchase (and so is my husband).

As for comfort this is the most comfortable mattress I have ever owned BUT.. I'm at that point in my life where I'm getting hot at night ...apparently this is supposed to regulate your body temperature and keep your cool ....it doesn't it makes you hot! I have back and joint issues and have tried a few mattresses over the years. I have now found the right one for me. I have no pressure points now as it does give in those areas but is still supportive. It is a deep mattress so changed our bedframe to something a little lower too. Has grab handles all around for ease of turning and does seem cooler to sleep on. Best buy of the year for me.

The whole experience is fabulous, from walking into the store in Swansea and given advice on the different mattresses, then choosing our purchase. Delivery was a few weeks later. I normally preferred a softer mattress but our old one was becoming uncomfortable. Visiting a local store we tried several mattresses and decided a firm one was best for us both. We have now had our new mattress for nearly 3 weeks and I have found a marked improvement in my sleeping. This was bought for a child with special needs and sensory issues. It has been brilliant. She was so excited by how deep it was - she said it felt like she was the princess in the 'Princess and the Pea' with lots of mattresses. Super comfortable and real quality. The mattress is very good but I had a problem with the divan base. The roller on one of the drawers was faulty. Difficult to close. On inspection I found that the bracket was bent and the roller wheel was distorted. Managed to get a roller from tool station rather than trying to get bensons for beds to fix the problem. This is the most dreamy mattress! I just sink right into it and it feels like sleeping on a cloud. I suffer from lower back pain, I sleep on both my side and back and with this mattress I have slept pain free. It is a bit bouncy when turning over but I haven't rolled into the other person. The mattress is quite deep so you will need deeper fitted sheets. I highly recommend.

It's ok. Better than my previous mattress. Negative points include: A brown stain on the mattress on arrival (see photo). It's very firm: much more so than the one we tried in the showroom. It's expensive. With hindsight, I think we could have bought something better for the money. It smells! Even after airing for a couple of weeks, it still has a mild unpleasant odour.

Very nice, good quality mattress. I have the medium support but now wish I had gone with the soft option. I have severe Arthritis and chronic back pain. This is always worsened by firmer mattresses. It's certainly better than Emma or Nectar for comfort. The niggle is the sleep trial and costing so much to change it and no refund. I'm just going to have to stick with it.

The memory foam layer allows all my pointy bones to sink and the rest of me is supported perfectly. Front, back, neck, head, shoulders, on my side, superb. I ache less and sleep better. The delivery team were amazing and the service to take the old mattress invaluable! The mattress is not as soft as I was hoping for but I am not yet past my six weeks settling time. I'm a side sleeper and only weigh 50kg I find firm mattresses very uncomfortable so I have everything crossed on this one softening up a little more as I still kinda float on top

Lovely mattress. I had an Emma mattress before and it was just to firm with absolutely no give at all. This mattress is lovely and comfortable. The quality is lovely, I'm very pleased with my purchase. The only thing I will say is mattresses are extremely heavy nowadays. I went to my local bensons out let I tried lots of mattresses and opted for the clima 6000 pocket spring medium I eventually ordered it off line the delivery date was fast and delived to my house but I'm not impressed with it no we're near to the one I tried in the show room it feels very hard and not sure if I like it the price was over 800 pounds

very comfortable especially for someone with a bad back like mine, supports me well. customer service was great. Delivery was good but we think the packaging was slightly ripped in the delivery and created small dirt marks on the mattress. Delivery man was very good and warned us of these marks and asked if it was ok and took photos himself.

Bensons say it takes so many days to get comfy with your new mattress not this one from day one I loved it really really comfy but remember people that's just me not anybody else was explained that it could smell (to be expected) went away after about 10 days. Absolutely love my new mattress oh and my new headboard looks great 2.

Was selected after trying 7 or 8 different mattresses. I'm 70kg and quite slim, but need support at my hips/lower back. I have the medium firmness version. This mattress is perfect for me, on a slatted based. I was worried about the memory foam top being hot but it's absolutely fine. This is the comfiest mattress I've had in years.

The size was not what I was expecting, especially as their leaflet states otherwise. I knew it would be a bit slimmer but not shorter. Their leaflet states double beds come as 140x195 but the mattress I received was 135x190. When I phoned the store I was informed that they don't do 140x195 mattresses those sizes are for the bases.

This is absolutely the best mattress I've ever slept on! It's beyond comfortable and really is my favourite hello and my hardest goodbye! Have struggled for so long with pressure pain in my joints but that's a thing of the past now. I feel like I'm being cupped in a squishy marshmallow! Best thing I've treated myself to in ages.

super comfortable mattress. My 14 year old daughter loves it. Even I love it (and I usually like a firm mattress). She has slept very soundly and deeply since having this mattress. I have spent a lot of time in searching a mattress which does not give me sore back, fortunately, I have found this one, Slumberland Air 6.0 Memory Mattress. It is very comfortable to sleep on, either on my back or on my side. This is the best mattress I have ever slept on, nice and soft as it's described, best choice ever.

Good quality mattress but we are struggling to get comfy. We opted for the firm mattress as it was very comfy and not as soft as the medium but when our mattress arrived it is very hard. Not sure if it will give with time. We were hoping for a comfy nights sleep as our first mattress was faulty but we are still waiting!!

Lovely mattress. I chose the medium firmness as I like a soft mattress but was concerned about the soft as I have back problems, the medium firmness is perfect for me feels supportive as well as being extremely soft. Mattress seemed very hard and high at first, but after a few nights it settled in and seems really comfortable now. People the in shop were very helpful and when we contacted them at first to tell them about our issues I was told they would be happy to replace it if the problems continued, they were very friendly.

After my first night sleep on the slumberland air 6.0 medium firmness mattress, my body feels so rested. It's like I haven't slept this well in years! The mattress allows good back support, so you can sleep flat on your back and also sleep on your side. The mattress temperature was good too on a hot summer night.

Very comfortable, easy to clean, easy to turn around. However within 3 weeks we had a Kings Ridge which surprised us because our other standard size mattress from Slumberland in our guest room does not show this effect. Research showed that this can happen with king size and larger, but so soon was unexpected.

So glad I visited bensons for beds I was put on their special machine to measure the firmness of mattress best suited to me and this mattress does not disappoint, it is so comfortable and supports my hips which is where I had pressure showing. I have the best sleep on this mattress it is wonderful 10/10

I do find this mattress comfortable. In terms of quality, I have not had a very close look at this; seemed good on arrival with nothing detrimental spotted. VfM is difficult for me to assess, as I do not know how much time and effort has gone into manufacture, together with the cost of the material.

This mattress is so comfortable. The top layer feels so soft, but there's plenty of support beneath it. It doesn't seem to get too warm which my last foam mattress did. Hopefully this will be case in warmer weather, too. I would recommend this mattress for anyone who likes comfort and good support.

Extremely comfortable. I have a bad back and i find this helps me sleep. When my partner or myself get out of bed you cannot tell as there is no movement, which is great as he does nights and i dont know he has gotten in the bed and when i get up he doesnt know i have gone Lol!!! Super mattress.

Fabulous. This is the updated version on my previous mattress. I tried a simba mattress in between and sent it back. After 2 months of terrible sleep on the simba I gratefully returned to the airstream. I have chronic back problems and can't recommend this mattress highly enough.

I find the mattress so deep I cannot easily get into bed. It's a hard haul and I am 5ft 6 tall. When I bought it I specifically asked about turning it. I was reassured this was not needed. I cannot turn it it's too heavy but the info which came with it advised me to turn it.

This bed is firm but with the extra layers of the memory foam it has a cushioning feel that we find is very comfortable. We both have had a good night sleep. The depth of the bed is quite deep, and as long as you check the depth of fitted sheets. Very happy with this purchase.

It took some getting used to, but after a couple of weeks it's perfect very supportive without being too soft. It is very tall but we new this before we made the purchase so not an issue at all, apart from our dog struggles to jump on the bed now but that's no bad thing.

It has taken a long time for the smell of the mattress to go, which is a bit unpleasant when you are sleeping on it, we left it open for nearly two weeks even though they said it should be ok after 4 days, we can still smell it now. It is comfortable which is good.

This is just way too soft a mattress, I'm sure it'll suit some people but for me I even struggled to turn over because you sink so far in. I must say though Customer service have been brilliant and I already have a much firmer replacement on the way.
