Hyde-And-Sleep

Still fairly new to the mattress-industry, the Hyde and Sleep brand was the first real attempt from Dreams to get into the popular and saturated bed in a box segment, going head to head with the likes of Simba, Nectar and Otty. The main selling point of the brand is that they are able to offer a market leading sleep solution at a cheaper price than equivalent models in the existing Dreams lineup thanks to reduced logistical issues and reduced delivery costs. Having won multiple industry awards, the Hyde and Sleep range frequently tops charts in comfort and support.

Silentnight Owner Satisfaction

Satisfaction is at the core of everything Silentnight does and it’s evident through their tight relationships with both the consumers and retailers they work with. With the wide range of different products there’s something for everyone and thanks to advancements in technology surrounding edge support, roll-together prevention and better comfort layers that are both durable and luxurious, satisfaction has never been higher. Customer feedback is strong with many of the mattresses in the line-up being some of our highest and most well-reviewed. People particularly love the body contouring ability of the pocket springs, while the eco comfort fibres provide a sustainable and comfortable top layer.

Silentnight Supportiveness

Supportiveness is where Silentnight really shines. They’ve adjusted their offering over the years to focus more toward medium and firm tensions which naturally contour to the body better and help to alleviate back and neck pain. Silentnight also deployed an array of different support systems to further assist with adequate tension with the Mirapocket base layer proving the most popular and suitable if you are looking for additional support.

For those that suffer from back pain you may find the models within the range that feature hand tufting to give an additional bit of support.

Silentnight Durability

The average mattress is replaced at around the 7 year mark, that’s why it is so important for the durability of the mattress to hold up over time as the price point regardless of model is also going to be a considered purchase. With Silentnight, we have decades of proof that the mattresses truly stand the test of time and while our preference will always be that mirapocket layer over miracoil for increased lifespan, either should generally be suitable.

Another consideration in Silentnight’s favour is that the primarily spring based support layers are typically more breathable than their foam counterparts. Breathability means you are cooler and the mattress absorbs less moisture over time. Moisture over a long period of time can affect lifespan, performance and health.

Silentnight Best Offers

We've managed to find the following top deals from across the web on Silentnight mattresses.

Hyde-And-Sleep Owner Satisfaction

Owner satisfaction within the lineup is good with thousands of reviews over the last few years against the multiple models available. The reviews make particular mention to the impressive levels of support given, with back pain and orthopaedic support being particularly important to customers. Others enjoyed the foam comfort layer and the softer upper with multiple comments from genuine customers who find them “Extremely comfortable. Has made a significant difference to the quality of sleep”.

Hyde-And-Sleep Supportiveness

When it comes to support, Hyde and Sleep have two different support structures, one in the hybrid variety which combines foam and micro springs, and another focussing on pure foam. The tension within these models tends to be firmer than what you get with other manufacturers, with firm to extra-firm being commonplace across the majority of the segment. Customers find the supportive nature of these models ideal for back pain relief with so many comments making mention of the fantastic back support offered.

Hyde-And-Sleep Durability

Durability and longevity are both areas that are key to good quality control. The guarantee offered on Hyde and Sleep mattresses comes in at a lower 1-year guarantee which is smaller than those of competing bed-in-a-box brands and is an area of concern for the brand. Fortunately long-term reviews suggest only minor quality control and settlement issues affecting a small number of customers which should give a reasonable amount of confidence for those that are set on a Hyde and Sleep.

This is the first mattress I've ever bought. That's not to say I've never had a mattress in my possession before, it's just that, at the age of 32, this is the first one I have actually purchased myself. To an inexperienced customer, the world of mattress shopping is a daunting and complex domain, populated by a practically endless set of variables which one might never have previously considered, including 'pocket springs', 'coils' and 'memory foam', on top of the standard 'three amigos' of retail: price, brand and size. A visit to John Lewis with my girlfriend (a mattress-buying veteran who provided a welcome guiding hand) one evening after work provided an opportunity for us to get to grips with some of the many options first-hand. This was an investment of time I recommend to anyone in advance of considering making such a life-defining purchase online. I learned from this trip that the upper limit of what one can spend on a mattress is practically (but crucially, not literally) infinite. This was also the point at which the inherent gamble involved in the endeavour of mattress-purchasing was laid bare to me, with the stark realisation that no amount of casual testing of a mattress in-store could ever be sufficient to know what it would actually *be like* to sleep on one, let alone spend hundreds - and probably thousands - of nights cuddled up in (hopefully) restful slumber. After literally minutes of consideration, we left the store with a reasonably-priced, reliably-branded double 1200 pocket sprung memory foam option in mind and gainfully treated ourselves to dinner at an American BBQ restaurant as reward for our evening's work (which was, as it happens, dimly-lit and somewhat disappointing, though this is not our concern here). In the end, we went to Mattresses Online and bought what looked like a similar option, except with 1000 not 1200 pocket springs. Our experience thus far has been positive. We have not felt at all poorer for the 200 less pocket springs, and the memory foam element provides welcomingly soft cushioning, like laying down into the warm embrace of soft, yet firm, human flesh. I fully endorse this mattress.

I bought this 2 weeks ago and it’s been amazing so far, the pocket springs combined with the memory foam pillow top makes this bed very comfy and a dream to sleep on! Far better than my old simba hybrid mattress as that one was all memory foam, Good pocket springs from a reputable company like silent night are the way to go! And the fact this bed has a pillow top to make it that lil bit comfier is great, the pillow top is lowkey essential.. The bed come a bit firmer than I’d have liked took 3 nights to break it in, then it was perfect and it’s been very comfy ever since! I didn’t see this bed in store as it’s online only but I’m so glad I went with this one absolute dream! Only negative I do have is the fact it took 2-3 weeks to arrive which meant I had to sleep on my neighbours 10 year old mattress while I waited for it to come, defo worth it though. Positives • Very comfortable • Pocket springs provide adequate support without reducing any comfort • It looks like a well built mattress that will last a long time • 8 year guarantee for a extra fee but wasn’t too expensive for the peace of mind provided • Look for excuses to get to bed earlier now • Perfect size (little bit smaller than my simba double but works well with my bed frame) • Good height mattress! • Mirapocket zoned springs are a great help to provide support & comfort Negatives • Took what felt like a month for the item to arrive • Can’t see the item in any store in the Uk for some reason it’s online only which is annoying • No handles on the sides so turning the bed round is a ball ache!! Overall I’d give it 5 stars so far I may do another review 6 months in and let you all know how I get on with it as I’m aware mattresses can change from 2 weeks - 6 months hopefully this one stays comfortable and supportive it looks well built so I’ve got a feeling this will be the case.. This is a REALLY firm mattress, like sleeping on a floor. That is just what I wanted.I have a genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which means my skeleton is not held in place properly due to my connective tissue being 'floppy'. This is the best mattress I have ever owned (far better than 'luxury' brands costing upwards of £1,000) and supports my skeleton perfectly. At last, I can have a comfortable night's sleep and not wake up with dislocated joints (yes, that does happen) and severe pain all over my body. So, for me, this mattress is heaven itself. However, you have to realise that this is like sleeping on a breeze block for most of your body. If your current mattress is saggy, it is probably because it's old or worn or hasn't been turned properly. Do not buy a 'very firm' mattress to replace it unless you want a really HARD bed! Pretty much any new mattress will be firmer than an old one. This mattress is designed for people who are obese or disabled or have an extremely bad back that is permanent. I would imagine that for other people it would be way too firm. So beware of that before you buy.But if you know you want a very firm mattress, then believe me, you can't do better than this for the price. So long as you rotate it every week initially as recommended (after two months you can rotate it once a month), it does not sag. I have had mine about six weeks now and there is no sag whatsoever.

4 Hot Sleeper Paul

I am both a 'hot sleeper' who has the problem of heat build up in the mattress comfort layers, and also someone who prefers a very firm mattress as good for back support. The BE1400 therefore seemed ideal. After trialling for 30 days a mixed outcome. The mattress generally good at preventing overheating, much better than many I've tried (including very hot memory foam, and supposedly cooling wool/natural ones that also got very hot in my experience). However, still some heat build up in the comfort layers and I'd describe as a warm mattress rather than cool one. I was waking 2-3 times a week and having to shift position to a cooler part of the mattress, but still much better than the foam or wool mattresses. Main surprise though was that the mattress was exceedingly firm, with almost no give at all. I like a firm mattress but even so would have liked a little more and the mattress maybe better for heavier sleepers (I'm 84 kg) - but did mean no back pain and slept very well in that respect. In the end after the trial though I swapped to the almost identical BE1000 version, which is a little less firm. Also one other observation, the aloe vera infusion was very subtle and not noticeable once sheets on, but nice to have.

I've had this mattress around 6 months and bought it based on positive reviews here. I wanted medium to firm mattress to help my back pain. The order and delivery service from Dreams website was pleasant, smooth and easy. Really glad I couldn't send this mattress back within first 100 days as I initially found it too firm and it caused me pain. I realised it may need time to 'soften up'. In the meantime I bought a Silentnight 1" mattress topper, which immediately did the trick! The mattress with only a 1" was so comfortable and lovely to sleep on. After a couple of months when the warmer summer nights arrived I removed the mattress topper and wow the mattress on its own was great! Nice and comfortable and cool for the warmer nights. Had no pain at all and had great sleeps. This past few weeks I've reapplied the mattress topper for the winter cooler nights, and wow again, such comfort! Overall this mattress is great has improved my sleep. I really look forward to going to bed (and early!) every night. When I'm away I look forward to coming home to my own bed and this new comfy mattress. Thank you Dreams and Silentnight! I will be a returning customer when this mattress has had its day.

Overall, very happy with the mattress. I selected it based on the advice from going on the bed in store that assesses your sleeping position. I think I’ve previously had medium mattresses and this one comes up as firm, but I find it soft and supportive. I’m used to a sprung base with foam topper, despite the description making me think this had some sort of micro spring set up it does seem to be essentially all foam. I’m a lot less aware of my husband moving around in his sleep so I guess the foam set up is working. Two small problems that I have with it - firstly it recommends you rotate on a weekly basis for the first three months but it’s really awkward to rotate. There are some handles but they’re underneath the mattress rather than on the side. It’s quite a dense mattress and pretty much a deadweight to try and rotate. The second irritation is that the sheet and mattress protector won’t stay in place. The texture of the mattress cover is particularly slippery and correctly sized fitted sheet keeps on shifting.

looked around.. so many options.. all different prices. We saw this one.. the design was exactly what we were looking for and the price.. was a bit cheap to be honest.. I wondered if we were going to the end up with something flimsy and cheap.. we didn't! This bed is amazing.. the quality is top notch. Gorgeous thick headboard in luxurious fabric.. same on the bed base. The mattress is firm and comfy. No "rolling together" or anything. It is a thick mattress.. no buttons or springs to be felt. We love it. The only thing we did was get some anti slip Matt to put under the mattress to stop or slipping around. I'm a fidget.. that's the only reason why. Fabulous bed.. comfy and quality. I would recommend it to everyone. Lovely delivery guys as well brought it upstairs for us. Service with a smile. Professional. kept me informed of the delivery time as well. Thank you very much ????

The mattress seemed firmer than the one tested in the store. I phoned customer services two days after I received the mattress to have this logged. I chose this mattress as I was experiencing joint pain when waking from sleep on my original mattress. I have to say I don’t experience joint pain in the morning now. How the mattress regulates heat I am unsure my wife experiences hot flushes at times and the cooling properties the mattress makes no difference. But no mattress can regulate for hot flushes for to menopause. The edges are firm and hold shape when getting in and out of bed. There is no roll together and the mattress memory foam returns to shape when out of bed. My previous mattress had visible indentations showing where my wife and I sleeped after only a few weeks of use. So I am impressed with this but will be looking out for this over the next few months.

I initially loved this pillow. However, it does go very flat, very quickly. The cool side is amazing for those of us who are of a certain age and suffer the hot flushes in the night. The opposite side is lovely and soft but too warm for me. I love the way the pillow scrunches up under my neck. The only issue for me is that it does need to be constantly 'plumped' and does not keep its shape. I have reverted back to my Tempur Original pillow which is very comfortable but does not stay cool like this one. Note to the designers of this pillow "if this pillow can be made to keep its shape better it will be perfect". I have bought many many pillows trying to find ones that suit me best and this rates as 9/10 and would be 10/10 if it did not go flat. For those of you looking for a cool pillow - it is perfect.

I am a front sleeper and was looking for a firm mattress. Previous mattresses that were not firm enough caused me lower back ache and a stiff spine every morning. This mattress, although classed as firm, did not prevent this back ache and stiff spine. I would class this mattress as medium and think it is more suited to side sleepers. Instead, I ended up switching to the Hyde & Sleep Original mattress which was also classed as firm, but the difference between the 2 is quite significant. The Hyde & Sleep Original mattress does prevent back ache and the stiff spine so I got there in the end! I remember when trying out the various mattresses in the Dreams shop, the Hyde & Sleep Deluxe Ice mattress, classed as medium, felt firmer than the Hybrid Ice mattress which is classed as firm.
