The key to a great night's sleep heavily depends not only on the mattress you choose but equally on the bed frame on which the mattress rests. This piece is a review on the Snooze Moonshine Bed Frame, a contemporary piece of furniture that offers a perfect blend of style, functionality, and solidity. Detailed observations from design to features, product construction, suitability and user sentiment will be touched upon. So, if you're in the hunt for a bedroom overhaul or a subtle change to upgrade your sleep experience, this just might be the bed frame you've been dreaming about.
How We Tested
We employed thorough testing methods to offer an objective assessment of the Snooze Moonshine Bed Frame. Assembly and installation were initially considered, examining how easily the bed frame was set up upon arrival. I put it together myself and the instructions were mostly clear, but a couple of steps had me double-checking the diagrams. Once it was up, I gave the headboard and side rails a proper wobble test and it felt reassuringly solid. We also spent some nights sleeping on it, scrutinising the quality of sleep it offered and the level of support to different mattresses. We tested its stability, variability in different bedroom setting and space, and assessed the choice of fabric swatches and compatibility with various styles of bedroom decor.
Design and Features
The Snooze Moonshine bed frame truly stands out with its modern-contemporary scrolled headboard, making it easy to blend with various home decors. From its nine luxurious velvet and woven fabric choices to the palette of colours, there's something for every colour scheme. The fabric swatches felt properly plush under my hand, but do bear in mind velvet can show marks and shading depending on how you brush it. The bed frame is available in three sizes, making it suitable for a wide variety of room dimensions. The Moonshine range offers both a non-ottoman and an ottoman base option, the latter being perfect for those seeking some extra storage space.
Construction
When it comes to construction, the Moonshine bed frame offers a strong structure, made even more durable by the fully boarded sleeping base. This well-engineered build extends the mattress's lifespan and offers excellent support to the sleepers, although if you're used to a sprung slatted base it can feel a touch firmer with some mattresses. The bed frame sits sturdily on solid, walnut finished wooden feet, merging stability with aesthetic appeal. Sitting on the edge, it held up well without that annoying dip, but it's not the tallest frame in the world so under-bed clearance is fairly limited. Not to forget, the plush upholstery adds a touch of opulence and a cosy feel to the overall product.
Suitability
Whether for a Netflix binge, some reading time, or a peaceful slumber, the Moonshine bed frame provides an excellent supportive and comfortable space. The modern scrolled headboard, besides being stylish, serves an ergonomic purpose, offering a comfortable backrest, though if you like sitting bolt upright you may still want an extra cushion behind you. I tried it sat up for a bit with a book and it was comfy enough, but I did end up shuffling a pillow behind my lower back. The option of the ottoman base makes it suitable for those with storage needs. Available in double, king, and super king sizes, with multiple fabric and colour options, the Moonshine bed frame caters to diverse user requirements and preferences.
What Customers Thought
The owner feedback is about the buying experience rather than the frame itself. One owner wrote: "From the ordering online till the delivery and installation everything was spot on." The same review mentions delivery dates being updated, "keeping us in the loop".
The Verdict
Our testing positions the Snooze Moonshine Bed Frame as a solid choice for those seeking a sturdy, stylish, and supportive bed frame solution. Its nod towards both style and utility, and the variety it offers in size and aesthetic implies a broad appeal for various tastes and requirements. The Moonshine bed frame represents the Snooze collection's commitment to quality and users' needs, offering a sleeping solution that's as good functionally as it is visually, but I'd still like to see a longer guarantee at this price point.
