What Makes The Dunlopillo Royal Sovereign Mattress Great?

Hypoallergenic

This product is unlikely to cause any sort of allergic reaction. Ideal if you suffer from any sort of allergy problems

Made in the UK

These are made and manufactured in the UK, meaning that they all meet the same exceptional quality and durability that we expect from genuine UK manufacturing.

Handcrafted in the UK

Handcrafted in the UK means that the product is built here, by people being paid a fair and honest wage using certified and safe products of good quality and construction. UK manufacturing is some of th best in the world and all of that is reflected in this product

Medium support

A medium tension mattress like this is the goldilocks of mattress tensions. Not too soft, nor too firm, medium is typically suitable for the vast majority of people that are looking for a good nights sleep. If you are of average build without back or neck problems, this should be a suitable product. If you are of lower BMI and a side sleeper, consider a softer mattress, whereas if you are of a higher BMI and suffer neck and back pain, consider a firmer tension.

Pressure Relief

One of the big complaints when settling into a new mattress is that it does not feel as comfortable as they hoped, where this mattress shines is in the enhanced pressure relief that it offers. Each part of your body exerts different amounts of pressure against the mattress and through the use of springs and foams, these products are able to offer significant pressure relief as a result across the entire body.

Knitted Cover

It is common in the industry to have a knitted cover, these covers can come in a variety of patterns but are typically hard wearing and do not present problems for consumers.

Medium

A Medium firmness mattress is the most common build offered due to the range of suitability offered in such a mattress. This type of mattress will be better suited toward averagely weighted people, while lighter people should opt for a medium-light, and heavier people considering a medium-firm.

Natural 100% pure Dunlopillo latex for superior comfort

Latex is a luxurious material of natural origins and is one of the better materials for mattress construction due to it's softness, breathability and resilience. You will find latex often used as a top comfort layer and occasionally used as a core/base layer due to it's additional supportive properties.

Seven comfort zones for extra support

Progressive comfort for a restful night's sleep

Pressure-relieving technology so you can wake feeling revitalised

21cm total mattress depth

21cm of mattress depth is enough to house a typical good quality spring system with decent support and comfort layers while also being thin enough to accessorise with standard mattress sheets. No need for deeper sheets and further purchases as a result.

Hypoallergenic for a healthier sleep environment

Allergy sufferers often experience the problem of waking up in the middle of the night or having to get up in the morning with a stuffy nose and eyes. The reason why you wake up with a stuffy nose is because your mattress has accumulated dust mites, mould and mildew, all of which are allergens. The solution is a hypoallergenic mattress is made from materials that do not support mould or dust mites. They also have anti-microbial properties that effectively kill any bacteria that may come into contact with it.

Durable due to natural resilience to hold shape

Knitted, soft-touch cover with Actipro technology for a refreshing sleep environment

Single-sided, easy-care

A single sided mattress is typical for the industry and relates to how  a mattress has the comfort layer on one side of the mattress. only This means that the mattress only needs to be rotated rather than flipped. The benefit of single sided mattresses is that they require less upkeep in that there's no flipping, but also, there's less components involved in the creation which saves costs.

Single-sided

Single sided means only one side is comfy. Positives are you only need to rotate the mattress occassionaly rather than the more cumbersome rotate and flip. Downside is the lifespan of the product may suffer as a result, only marginal, but worth mentioning.

Approved by the National Bed Federation

The NBF is one of the most prestigious awarding federations in the industry, helped slightly by the fact that it is one of the only, however, it is still a great source of comfort knowing that this product holds approval by the team

Which? Best Buy

Which? promotes informed consumer choice. They examine products through testing to provide an unbias uniformed overview. Their scoring system makes it easier and faster to make an informed purchasing decision. As a Best Buy, Which? consider this product to offer the optimal balance of price, quality and performance.

8 Year Guarantee

An 8 year guarantee is fantastic news for the consumer. A normal industry standard is 1 year. 8x the standard guarantee means that the supplier and retailer both feel that this product is pretty special. Buy with confidence, the average mattress typically gets replaced after 7 years and here we have the supplier offering beyond that

Latex

Latex mattresses will never be latex all the way through, rather, it will be used as a top later. We often find that latex foam, combined with either springs or reflex foam will be combined in order to create the perfect mattress.

Fire Resistant

Fire resistant does not mean the product will never catch fire, rather, it will not go up in flames quite so quickly. Resistant to fire in the same way that I am resistant to kisses, sooner or later you end up giving in.

21cm deep

The industry standard for mattress depth is 7 inches, with most offering a comfortable 10 to 14 inches. Generally, the higher the load, the deeper it needs to be. But quality is important as a well-built 10-inch mattress can be equally as comfortable and supportive as a budget 12-inch mattress. This 8 inch mattress leans towards the higher end of the scale but still covers a wide range of sleepers.

Breathable to regulate your body temperature

The mattress comes with breathable side vents that allow the mattress to remain cool while you sleep. Another benefit to being breathable is that you naturally sweat during the night and the cool and breathable nature means that your mattress will remain hygienic for many years to come.

I first had a new Dunlopillo mattress (bed) in 1984 and I slept comfortably everafter. I reluctantly had to get rid in 1912 as i was downsizing and moving many miles down south taking only the two single beds in my spare room , which had nothing wrong with them but not as comfortable as I thought. I decided to return to what I knew and I'm so glad I did, my new mattress is heavenly!

5

For someone with a weak back and a tendency for sore joints this provides a good balance between back support and comfort. It is soft to the touch but supports well when you lie down. It needs a slatted base for ventilation.

I had one many years ago which I believe was layers of latex rubber. It was excellent. I have had this one for some weeks now and it is very satisfactory. However, I am unsure whether it is made the same way.

- Very comfortable;- High quality (seems like it will last for years and years);- Good temperature control (if you struggle with the heat from memory foam then you'll probably find latex much better).
