Here I'm taking a look at Harrison Spinks Quilted Fusion 8000 Pocket Mattress, which combines excellent value with high-quality materials. It's packed full of features you wouldn't usually expect from such an affordable mattress - including 8000 pocket springs and an eco-friendly filling. That said, '8000' is a headline number and it includes the micro springs, so don't buy it expecting the same feel as 8000 full-height pocket springs.
The Harrison Spinks Quilted Fusion 8000 Pocket Mattress is a high-quality, traditional pocket spring mattress that mixes newer mattress design with old fashioned traditional materials. The biggest change here is the combination of two spring types: a base layer of pocket springs with an array of HD micro springs above. On paper the base layer of 1000 pocket springs does the holding up, which should keep your hips level on your back, and the three layers of mini springs above it should make the surface quick to follow small movements instead of pushing back as one unit. Owners don't agree on how firm it is: one describes a 'firm feel' with 'strong sides', another found the edge 'too soft when sat upon' and wished they'd gone firmer. I'd expect less give at the shoulder than the medium label suggests, since it's springs on springs with no foam in it, so if you're a lighter side sleeper you might find it a bit too unyielding unless you like a firmer tension. That makes for a mattress that is both supportive and comfortable. The rest of the Quilted Fusion 8000 is constructed from eco friendly fillings of generous depth to provide measured comfort and support for lots of different sleepers. One thing I'm not mad on is that the quilting and natural-style fillings don't give you that slow-melting hug some people want, it's more of a buoyant, spring-led comfort. Also, for the money I'd like to see really solid side handles for rotating because this sort of build can be a bit of a wrestle to move about.
