Why our sleep experts loved it
If you're searching for a comfortable and supportive mattress, look no further than the Silentnight Lift Replenish 2000 Pocket Medium-Firm. I got my hands on this one in-store and spent a good few minutes pressing into the top layers and sitting on the edge, and it definitely feels like a more 'proper' build than the basic Silentnight models. This luxurious mattress offers superior comfort and support, thanks to its unique combination of Mirapocket springs, latex foam, and eco-memory comfort. It features a medium-firm tension, providing an ideal balance of comfort and support that will suit both side sleepers and back sleepers alike, but if you're a lighter side sleeper you might find it a touch too firm around the shoulder. The product also features a special edge-to-edge support system that comes as standard with the entire Silentnight Mirapocket range, which gives you extra stability and support, even when you are sleeping on the edge of the bed. With a 5-year guarantee, you can be sure that this mattress will provide you with years of restful sleep, although at this sort of price point I do like seeing longer cover from some brands. So, if you're looking for a bed that offers superior comfort, support and durability, the Replenish 2000 Mattress is the perfect choice for you.
What's inside the base and comfort layers? The Silentnight Lift Replenish 2000 is a fantastic all-round mattress that will suit all sleeping needs. As above, this item has a unique combination of memory foam, pocket springs, and eco-memory. Running my hand across the cover and then pushing down with my palm, you can feel that initial latex 'bounce' before the eco-memory starts to give you that slower sink, it's a nice combo when it's done right.
The memory foam is designed to suit all sleeping positions and provide extra comfort thanks to its deep layers and that unique sinking feeling that comes with this type of foam, but it does mean it can feel a bit warmer than a straight spring and fibre build, especially if you already sleep hot. The pocket springs will also provide you with support that beats the competition in this space, outperforming both Miracoil and reflex foam competitors, and when I shifted my weight about I could feel the springs reacting in smaller sections rather than the whole surface moving at once. Finally the latex in the top layer will help regulate your body temperature and provide additional breathability to help ensure that you don't overheat or sweat throughout the night, although it's still not as airy as a mattress that leans more on natural fillings and less on foam.
One practical thing, it's not the lightest mattress to move about, so rotating it on your own can be a bit of a faff.
Who will this tension suit? This mattress is a medium-firm tension that suits all sleeping positions and will provide you with ample support, but will also relieve pressure points and provide you with extra comfort. Lying on my back, my hips felt nicely held up and I didn't get that hammock feeling you can get on softer memory foam beds. On my side, I was supported, but I could feel a bit more pressure building at the shoulder than I'd want if I was under about 70kg, so keep that in mind if you like a plusher feel.
Edge-to-edge support system All Silentnight mattresses feature an edge-to-edge support system, which gives you extra stability and support, even when you are sleeping on the edge of the bed. When I sat right on the side, it held up better than I expected and didn't collapse away under me, but you still get a bit of compression, it's not like sitting on a solid bench. This support system will prevent you from rolling or sliding off the product, even when you are asleep and helps improve durability by allowing further spreading out on the top layer over time helping to prevent divots and uneven settlement.
