The Botfield traditional mattress is a new mattress from the popular manufacturer The Dreams Workshop. The brand is not found elsewhere and is sold exclusively through Dreams. The Botfield mattress fits within the lower-quadrant in terms of price point and you are unlikely to find full-sized mattresses for cheaper but don't think for one second that this means you won't still be able to get a good night's sleep. Let's dive into the fillings and construction below and see what we are working with.

Starting with the support layer this mattress features an impressive open coil spring system. This type of spring system features less body contouring than the equivalent pocket springs but is also half the price. I would argue the reduced costs of such a layer can be offset with a good comfort layer and still provide a good night's sleep.

Onto the comfort layer and you have a generous layer of soft fillings. These fillings are important as they keep you from the springs, which, regardless of quality, are traditionally pointy and painful and so we cover these with different layers of varying qualities. In this instance, soft fillings provide more than enough comfort to detract from the spring system and will provide a good degree of comfort that won't cause you to get too hot while you sleep.

Paired with a soft touch damask cover, this pairing is ideal for anyone looking for a feeling of quality while still sticking to a tight budget.

Those familiar with the Dreams product range will remember the ever-popular Watson open coil mattress. This mattress follows in the footsteps of that mattress adding more filling depth, more comfort and the same handcrafted care and attention to detail as before.

I replaced my old mattress which I had for 7 years. It was also from Dreams and it cost me considerably more than this one. I was a little apprehensive about buying a mattress so much cheaper but did not want to spend so much money right now on one. I bought this thinking in 2-3 years I will buy a new one. I now don't think this needs replacing that soon. This mattress is not as firm as I would like (but I like mine very firm) but other than that I have absolutely no complaints. It doesn't "feel" like a budget mattress and it is absolutely excellent value for money. I will not be buying other expensive mattresses in the future as this does the job. I am very pleased. Also - the delivery and collection of my old mattress was really hassle free. The delivery people were amazing and I would absolutely recommend using this service. They carried the mattress all the way to my bedroom on 4th floor (no lift) and carried the old mattress out. They were so polite, kind and professional. Really pleased.

I bought this bed about a month ago, and it is perfect for me, I do highly recommend it for anyone on a budget but still after a quality product. A few main points: - Lighter than my old mattress, easy to access stuff under the bed, easily held up with just one hand while reaching for things - Very comfortable, I prefer a firmer bed, but this gave a soft touch with a firm feel, great for back or side sleepers (I do a bit of both!) - Saying this, I have had back pain for a few years and this has reduced my pains drastically, I thought it would be just the first few days but my back is improving still! - Again, great value for the quality of the product. Delivery was phenomenal, quick service and delivered to my bedroom. Overall, would give this a 9/10, only because there is always room for improvement, and I imagine if I was to buy a mattress for 5x the price it would be better, but this is DEFINITELY worth the money.

Bought as a mattress for a trundle bed as my sister was visiting. I purchased over the 'phone and explained that my sister is 75 and has poor mobility, so needs something comfy to sleep on that will also support. As I am on a limited budget I was advised that this mattress was probably the most appropriate, and was in the sale at half price. (Hooray!). It was delivered very promptly as arranged by very courteous and respectful drivers, and taken to the correct bedroom. My sister approached the trundle bed and mattress with dread! The next morning she awoke refreshed and told me that the mattress was comfortable and that she had had a good nights sleep with no issues. Whew!!! Thank you Dreams!.

I had this bed and mattress purchased for me so I cannot complain. I am used to a memory foam mattress which was bought from Dreams about 8 years ago and was superb comfort but was starting to have a funny smell. I was dubious about a sprung mattress and first couple of nights were torture. However once my body adapted I found it to be reasonably comfortable and supportive. I would prefer more padding on the top really as being a larger bird I must be squashing those springs hard and I can feel them in my shoulder. For anyone more slender it wouldn't be a problem. The mattress isnt very thick but is quite firm. I will be looking to get a padded topper then I'm sure it will be just fine.

Why this mattress you may ask, well its for my daughter who had out grown her cot bed and needed a single bed. So checked online, filtered through the criteria that I was looking for and found this mattress. Website is nice and easy to use as is the order process. its nice that you get a delivery day and then a slot on the day so you don't need to hang around waiting all day. Delivery was fine, with the mattress placed in room of choice. The mattress, feels like decent quality, and has a decent amount of bounce too. Can't fault' the mattress. As its only been a matter of weeks I tend not to give a full 5 stars. Given the quality I think in the long run its a 5 star mattress.

Bought two of these mattresses for new bunk beds bought for grandchildren. Did have to ring Customer Service as although height dimensions given were suitable for bunk beds, on reading questions/answers on the website customers had been told these were not suitable. Good service from C/S who rang a store and asked for confirmation of height dimensions. All good would be suitable. Had to wait a few weeks for delivery, but good communication when due to arrive. Rechecked dimensions when coming off wagon, too deep! Only for driver to realise theyd off loaded wrong mattresses and quickly rectified. Very pleased as bought in sale,great quality and Grandchild extremely happy

Have read reviews of this mattress prior to purchase and seeing the 50% off cost i was almost convinced this was too good to be true. Surely you couldnt have a fantastic mattress at such a ridiculous price...... at dreams its possible. Not only was I kept informed not just by email but text also of where and when my mattress would be delivered but the quality of the product itself is brilliant. Back is getting better with each nights sleep, yes it is a hard mattress but its exactly what I needed and I couldnt rate it higher or the dreams team. Ordered this matress for my 2 year old to go into her big girl bad. Was really happy with fhe cost. I had to wait about 7 weeks for delivery but I was kept up to date. On the day of delivery the guys were really friendly and professional. I got stuck in a meeting when they were due to deliver and they initially said they couldn't leave it in the shed as I had requested but they then rang their manager and he agreed to leave it in the shed for me. Was kept up to date all day by the 2 guys, definitely very good customer service. Overall really happy with the product and it is very good quality especially for the price.

Bought this mattress as a replacement for our daughters bed as a surprise for when she visits from Uni. We didnt have a huge budget for it, so we were looking for a mattress that was a good price. She has been home for two weeks and loves it, has said it is super comfy and gives her a good nights sleep. Ordered online which was really quick and easy. The two guys that delivered the mattress were super polite, very friendly and very efficient a credit to the company. Overall couldnt fault anything, I was very impressed with service and product. Bought for my 4 year old son, think its a solid purchase for the price (especially as we got ours in a sale). Nice and comfy, my son sleeps well on it, no complaints. Delivery was a breeze, I was kept informed by text message with my delivery slot along with a phone call on the day confirming the timeframe. The 2 delivery men were professional, quick and efficient, taking the old matress away (we paid for this at the time of ordering), putting the new one on the bed, giving some care instructions and taking packaging away. As a returning customer I had no hesitation in searching online at Dreams was made very simple found the right product at a reasonable price, opted for delivery and collection of old mattress. after online purchase two days later we receive a large bag for old mattress to be put in ready for the delivery day. I believe we had at least four texts confirming date and approximate time then confirmation regards time on the morning of said delivery day couldn't of asked for better communications. now the mattress was found to be exactly as described, excellent choice.

I bought this mattress a month ago. I could say that it is all I need in terms of a mattress. It has a great texture that adds style and identity to the product and the home decor. The mattress is incredibly comfortable and soft. It exactly that in between desire I was looking for - not too soft or too hard. It is right in the middle, perfectly shaping around your body proportions. I could say that my sleep quality improved. I sit on my single bed a lot ( like a sofa) and I find the edge is loosing its original shape. Which type of mattress will hold its shape best? I am a bit heavy. I used to have a mattress that kept its shape.

Answer: Unfortunately mattresses are not intended for this purpose, and are designed for weight to be evenly distributed across the surface when lying down. We do have some mattresses with edge support, however this still would not be suitable to be sat on for long periods of time.Many thanks
