Tempur

Tempur was first born in the 1980’s to relatively lukewarm acclaim, see, it was the memory foam that really got Tempur finding it’s stride and this didn’t happen until 1991, becoming one of the first companies in the world to see the commercial benefits of what is now known today as memory foam.

Today Tempur is one of the largest mattress companies in the UK and serves thousands of customers yearly with its high quality no-compromise foam filled mattresses. The Tempur brand carries huge weight and is available in many bedding and chain retailers throughout. The standout features of Tempur have given customers a great night's sleep for decades with many spending their life on a mattress from this company, not having needed to swap out far beyond the traditional 7-year buying cycle.

With competitive pricing and unique memory foam bounce-back comfort, it’s not hard to see why Tempur are leading the way some 40 years after inception.

Mlily

Mlily is a Chinese mattress manufacturer founded in 2003 that entered the UK market in 2016 alongside a partnership deal with Manchester United football club. The brand builds hybrid mattresses using memory foam, reflex foam and micro-pocketed coils, with the distinctive construction detail being high-density foam wrapping around the micro-coils to produce a less springy, more stable sleeping surface than conventional pocket spring designs.

What separates Mlily from most bed-in-a-box rivals is the combination of hybrid construction with international manufacturing scale. The Chinese production base keeps costs competitive, and the engineering approach of wrapping micro-coils in foam delivers a feel that is noticeably different from either pure foam or traditional pocket spring mattresses.

Tempur Owner Satisfaction

Tempur owner satisfaction is one of the main reasons why people go on to buy another Tempur when the time eventually comes to replace. See, Tempur mattresses are almost seen as part of a ‘cult’, once you’ve slept on one, the idea of moving to an alternate brand no longer makes sense. Reviews for Tempur mattresses consistently talk of the great night's sleep that comes with purchase and one which is rarely regretted.

Tempur mattresses are ranked number 1 for customer satisfaction in multiple countries across the world, highlighting their positive experiences and why one should be considered. Price points may serve as an issue for those looking for something a little cheaper, however, the reputation for improving the quality of people’s sleep cannot be overstated.

Tempur Supportiveness

When it comes to supportiveness you could be forgiven for looking beyond Tempur mattresses. After all, the memory foam comfort layer that is unique to Tempur is, as the name suggests, for comfort and not reflective of the support systems on offer. Fortunately Tempur mattresses now feature TEMPUR® Support Material for an outstanding support layer that is unique to the brand and not available on competing products. What’s more, the company has created a small but pointed range of mattresses to ensure that whatever your support preference of soft, medium or firm, there is something for everyone.

My personal preference continues to be the medium firmness tension which offers enough support with enough “give” to ensure you will sink deep into the mattress which makes it ideal for the average person sleeping on their side.

Tempur Durability

Different Tempur products have different guarantees but I do think it is particularly telling of the Tempur durability that their mattress lineup will most frequently come with a 10 year guarantee. This guarantee is a testament to the confidence the manufacturer has in their products. After all, each Tempur mattress takes around 60 hours to make (according to Tempur themselves), and in that time they go through up to 67 different quality and assurance tests to ensure that you get the right product that is built to last.

So much of the competition features 1 year guarantees which make it harder to justify the case that their durability is of a primary concern.

Mlily Owner Satisfaction

Mlily carries a strong Trustpilot score and the brand has accumulated consistently positive reviews from UK buyers since entering the market in 2016. The Manchester United partnership raised the profile considerably, but the product quality is what has kept the positive sentiment growing beyond the initial marketing push. Long-term owners regularly report back that the products have held up well over time, which is encouraging for a relatively newer brand in the UK.

The 5-year guarantee across most of the range shows genuine manufacturer confidence. The bamboo fibre covers on some models are a regular highlight in owner comments for offering a different feel from the standard polyester knit that most bed-in-a-box rivals use.

Mlily Supportiveness

The hybrid construction pairs memory foam comfort layers with micro-pocketed coils wrapped in high-density foam. The wrapping changes how the springs behave, reducing the bounce and motion transfer that conventional pocket springs produce. The result is a supportive but stable surface that suits side sleepers and back sleepers well. The Premier 2000 is the sweet spot for most buyers, with the Hybrid Ice 7000 handling hot sleepers who want cooling gel alongside the hybrid support.

The deep memory foam layers mean the range is less suited to stomach sleepers and restless sleepers who change position frequently during the night. The slower foam response can feel restrictive for sleepers who need to move easily on the mattress surface.

Mlily Durability

Mlily uses a hybrid construction that combines foam comfort layers with micro-coil structural support, which is the format we expect to deliver better long-term durability than all-foam alternatives at similar pricing. The micro-coil and high-density foam wrapping construction adds structural integrity that pure foam builds cannot match. Long-term owner reviews reporting good performance over several years support this expectation.

The 5-year guarantee is reasonable for the price tier. Chinese manufacturing keeps costs down without evident quality compromise based on the review data we have tracked. The bamboo fibre covers hold up well over time and resist the pilling that affects cheaper polyester alternatives.

OK, so having broken my back 40 years ago, I’ve spent a fair chunk of my disposable income on different mattresses and beds, latex, pocket sprung, Vi-Spring - you get my drift. Sadly, none of these gave me exactly the correct amount of support in the places where this was crucial to getting a peaceful, restful and refreshing night’s sleep. Fast-forward to our visit to “Dreams” at Plympton. Joy of joys! No pressure, no salesperson hovering over us as we tried to adopt unrealistic “sleeping” poses. Just oodles of time to lie down, turn and try out each mattress (after first addressing our mattress needs using “Dreams” wonderful mattress assessment technology. We spent hours (no really, over 3 hours) testing our final three mattress choices. These were soon whirled down to a leading favourite and a strong contender. After a delicious complimentary cup of excellent coffee, it was back to the rigours if serious testing. This one had everything we wanted: more importantly, despite my best efforts, I couldn’t find a single flaw with this mattress (and I went shopping armed with an extensive “Nit-Pick” list). So there you have it. In my humble opinion, this is probably the world’s best mattress. Expensive? Nothing like the cost of my last mattress which was a Vi-Spring. You’ll spend one-third of your life on a mattress, so don’t skimp on the testing nor the price and buy this mattress - it will be one of the best’ no-risk investments you’ll ever make.

I purchased this mattress a couple of months ago; having had our previous mattress for well over 8 years. Both myself and my partner prefer a firmer density in mattress, but not overly firm so it feels hard, and one that helps keep us cool. We started looking at various types; ruling out the cheap ones as they were horribly uncomfortable especially with their spring base. Eventually; we came to this one. The mattress is firm but not overly hard. The foam is at the perfect density for us - it moves and adapts to your body to help support you where you need it. We’re both happy with our choice and find it difficult to sleep on anything else. A word of caution - this was advertised as coming with a ‘cooling’ layer, which was great in the showroom. However, in real life circumstances - with a bottom sheet and protector on - there is no real benefit from the cooling layer. Don’t base your choice to buy the mattress solely on that. Another word of caution - the first few nights with this were dreadful. We expected to go to sleep on it and immediately drop off and feel like we were on a cloud. The first couple of nights were uncomfortable and it took a while to get used to, especially having not hadn’t a memory foam mattress before. Stick with it though - it’s an excellent mattress overall

I was initially a little pressed to select the Sensation Elite and the Sensation extra firm from Dreams. We found the extra firm, which we’ve always preferred, made it hard to move about with more resistance and actually had a little more roll together problem. The Sensation Elite minimises roll together a lot, and so much better than other non-Tempur mattresses. I love the top cover and that soft depress but firm and slower ‘bounce-back’. After a couple of weeks of use, my shoulder pains are gone. I no longer wake up with shoulder pains. My back pains are mostly gone, all I have now is ‘muscular’ pain, which I presume is from the adjustment. I trialled 2 other bed in a box brands and both gave terrible back pain as they were all medium or medium firm ie. Too soft for me. My partner is not so sure, she likes it but there is something she doesn’t like although I can’t figure out what. What I would like to see for this kind of money, which should be essential; 1. Add handles on all 4 sides. It was very difficult to manoeuvre it without. This seems standard on many other mattresses. 2. Add some edge strengthening so it gains some composure when you sit on the edge.

Whilst this is an expensive mattress, it is worth every penny. Having always had pocket sprung mattresses in the past, I was sceptic about switching to a memory foam mattress. Whilst the initial experience is something that you may not be accustom to, it only took a day or two to before getting use to the different (but nice) feeling when lying on the bed. Whether you lie on your back or side, your body profiles into the mattress with ease, but without getting that sinking feeling (I opted for a firm mattress). The "CoolTouch" layer on the mattress does appear to truly regulate your body temperature - initially the mattress feels cool and with time, it gets warmer to your own body temperature without getting uncomfortable. The "Cooltouch" layer (unique to Dreams) was one of the main reason (comfort being the other) for purchasing this mattress. The only downside to this mattress is that it has no handles around the sides to allow you to lift and rotate the mattress. The mattress is heavy, but it is possible to rotate it with two people - if this minor inconvenience (hence 4 stars instead of 5) is not a major concern to you, I definitely recommend this mattress.

After 30 years of insomnia with neck, shoulder and back pain and just "putting up with it" after spending £100s on "revolutionary" pillows and mattresses we'd had enough. Went to Dreams on bank holiday Monday and left feeling ill at spending so much on another matress! But I thought at least we have 100 nights risk free if it didn't help. It arrived super fast on the Saturday and I can not stress the incredible affect it has had on our lives......it literally moulds to you the minute you lay down (lightly to feel comfortable) it has stopped my constant tossing and turning and supports my joints and I can actually put my feet straight onto the floor without pain in my ankles and feet as I've had for the last 2 years on our EVE mattress. I literally had to shuffle around to get going before!! Im getting at least 6 hours sleep which has lifted my anxiety as I have the energy to get straight on with my day. My husband's lower back and knee pain has also disappeared and he agrees this has been a well worthy purchase. It has has completely changed our lives. Do not hesitate...it is is the best investment you can make for your health. Thank you Tempur

So comfortably supportive everywhere that I have found it more comfortable without a pillow than any other bed I have had with a pillow. On my old mattress I was spending half the night in so much pain that I couldn't sleep, or waking in the morning hardly able to move and in pain. It's doing me a lot of good sleeping so much better. The way it's rolled into the packaging makes it easy to get through doorways and around corners into the room. The packaging itself is so good that I am intending to reuse it in some way rather than just throw it out.It comes with an additional envelope-style, good quality mattress protector.I can't say about longevity as I have only had it a few weeks.

Feels good, comfortable and supportive, also thicker in size so happy with the height. I chose medium as opposed to orthopaedic and it??s a lot firmer than I thought so again happy as worried it might be too soft. Feels good quality as well as opposed to some which you know is tatty and the price was within my budget so overall happy.

My new Mlilly mattress is lovely. Very well made. It??s deeper than usual but this I expected from the description on the website. Very impressed by the support it gives. Not hard like an ortho mattress. Comfy from day one. Comes vacuum packed. Easy to install .

Overall, this mattress offers a comfortable and cool night's sleep. It offers exceptional support for back and stomach sleepers, making it a top pick for those seeking firm support. However, softer it may not be ideal for side sleepers who need more cushioning.

Great quality, well made and so so comfortable. It is firm, which is perfect for me as I wanted the additional support, the memory foam though still let's you sink in. I'm very happy and I'm sure other customers will be too.
