To this day, Slumberland remains one of the largest mattress manufacturers, offering an impressive range of products in pocket spring support layers accompanied by numerous upper comfort layers, primarily of foam and latex.

Slumberland Owner Satisfaction

Slumberland mattresses are well reviewed, expected given the brands huge selling power. When it comes to customer feedback, reviews are positive with thousands of reviews and happy customers. People particularly enjoyed the luxurious qualities offered from such a reasonably priced mattress with those customers believing they get very good value for money. Other positives come in the form of the support layer, offering full body contouring and pressure relieving qualities that offer a degree of orthopedic comfort that protects and helps against back pain.

Slumberland Supportiveness

When it comes to supportiveness, Slumberland deals almost exclusively with pocket spring base layers. I bring up pocket springs a lot because they are the true mark of a good quality support structure, they generally perform better in tests than open coil traditional springs and reflex foam. Pocket springs offer, on average, better support and better durability, lasting longer than competitors. Slumberland has core parts of their lineup dedicated to orthopedic support which will prove ideal for those looking for additional back and neck support. In terms of firmness, we see a variety of different tensions that will ensure there is something for everyone in the lineup. Recommendations typically see those with back or neck pain navigate toward firmer mattresses, accompanied by back sleepers and heavier weighted people. For those who sleep on their side or are of lower to average weight should perhaps consider a medium tension mattress. With support, it’s all relative and subjective to each person, so consider each mattress on its own individual merit before purchase.

Slumberland Durability

When it comes to durability, Slumberland makes some impressive strides with their lineup. Thanks to the pocket spring support layer you get a better base layer acting as a foundation for everything that sits above. What separates Slumberland from many other manufacturers is that most of the lineup features a 5-10 year guarantee. The guarantee is a testament to the manufacturer's belief in the product they are selling and how long it will typically last. Lots of the industry relies on a 1 year guarantee and helps demonstrate the level of quality offered within Slumberland mattresses. Combine this with the double sided nature of much of the range and you actually get twice the surface area of many competitors, further expanding on longevity and durability.

Hypnos Owner Satisfaction

Customers of Hypnos mattresses are in for a treat, with more reviews than ever we’re been able to dissect and deep dive into what makes these mattresses great and the general consensus is that while a little bit pricier than alternatives, the quality and support all come together to offer a fantastic range of mattresses which perform extremely well and have received the Royal Warrant. People who own these mattresses report fantastic back support from the medium and firm tensions while the pocket springs contour to each and every part of your body and offer great quality at reasonable price points.

Hypnos Supportiveness

Hypnos mattresses are renowned for their supportiveness, offering a variety of different mattress tensions ranging from soft through to firm. The Hypnos lineup typically features pocket springs as a support layer which is thankfully one of the best bases you can get in mattresses. As a result, these mattresses are some of the best in the industry and with the wide range of tensions, there is something for everyone. Consider a medium tension mattress for back and side sleepers of most weight classes while a firmer might be more suitable for back sleepers or those with a heavier build.

Hypnos Durability

Hypnos mattresses have a huge benefit over many of the competition when it comes to durability. That’s because they have a very no-compromise approach to their range of mattresses, giving you the best in materials and not working to the same sort of budgets as other mattresses. Featuring numerous natural materials and handcrafted in the UK, all mattresses are guaranteed for 10 years which is market leading and exceeds the average life expectancy of a typical mattress from other manufacturers. Additionally many of the lineup are 2-sided, meaning you get the comfort layer on both sides of the mattress which gives you twice the surface area, increasing durability and ensuring even settlement over time.

I've only had this mattress about 3 weeks so don't feel I can give 5 stars yet - I may update in 6 months. It has improved in comfort significantly from the first week. The comfort rating is what I would rate it now, not what I would have given if I had reviewed this after the first night. Plus points: - double sided so hopefully it will last longer than my last mattress. Most of the other mattresses available were single sided. - light enough for me to turn and flip on my own (there was no point in it being double-sided if it was too heavy for me to lift). As a middle-aged 5ft2in woman this was the main reason I choose this mattress over others. I recommend going into a store and trying to lift mattresses if this is important to you as a lot of other mattresses were very heavy. - pocket sprung and no memory foam - a plus point if you don't like overheating in the summer. - reasonable price Negative points: - you can't sit on the edge of the mattress - this isn't very important to me, but might be important to others. It's fine for getting into and out of bed, but the edges do not have extra support like some mattresses and sink when you sit on them. - breaking in the mattress to achieve a comfortable sleep took around 2 weeks (although I may be breaking it in for a while yet as I still have some rotating and turning to do). The first few days were very uncomfortable, so much so, that I was regretting my decision. However, I had been warned that mattresses can take a while to break in, and had the 40 day trial to fall back on if necessary, so I persevered. Initially the padding feels very pronounced and solid - more like a very firm mattress than a medium. I also thought I could feel the 'tufts' as small hard lumps. I did not sleep well on it the first couple of nights and had back ache, so I looked up some ways of speeding up the 'breaking in' process. I crawled around on it several times a day and resisted getting a topper (which slows down the breaking in process), although I did sleep on top of a doubled up duvet a couple of times in the first week. I'm happy to say that, 3 weeks on, I'm sleeping well, have no back ache and I'm not noticing the tufts anymore. I don't feel like I would need a topper now and would say the mattress is medium/firm at the moment. The area where I'm sleeping is softer than other areas of the mattress, so I think it probably will be a medium as advertised once it is fully broken in. Overall, I am happy I bought this mattress - just be warned that the breaking-in process means you may be in for some uncomfortable nights to begin with. It wouldn't be suitable if you like to use the edge of your mattress as a place to sit.

The bed looks very good and impressive. Obviously in a smaller bedroom it looks enormous in comparison to what it looks like in the showroom but you soon get used to it. The quality looks good. Grey upholstery looks neat and fresh. We have a two drawer divan base. I’m a bit over cautious when using the drawers as the construction doesn’t appear to be as solid as those I have had on previous divan beds. We prefer a firm mattress but after taking the in store mattress test a medium mattress was recommended. I am actually glad we opted for this because if anything we have found this medium 3 mattress to be on the firm side. We are a bit underwhelmed with the comfort element. Instead of feeling ‘plush’ it feels as if we are perching on the top of it. I’m sure it is is just a matter of time for us to adjust. However the benefit to this is if one of us is moving about quite a bit in the night it doesn’t disturb the other and that has to be a big plus. . I am probably out of touch with the cost of beds these days but we marked the value for money as average simply due to comparing it comfort-wise to lesser priced beds we and family members have purchased. To conclude I am glad we made the purchase. It looks well and it will last many years .

Bought this bed because my old mattress that was supposed to be everything a mattress could be, was giving me lower back pain. It had a tufted quilted pillow top and it was not comfortable. I went for the vantage because the top is smooth. I used the sleep system to determine what firmness I required and bought a 3 medium. The first few nights were heavenly but I am now finding that although my lower back issue has stopped I find the mattress has no give and is perhaps too firm for my upper back. I am giving it the 40 to 56 day trial as per the mattress exchange policy and post lockdown hope to be assessed on the sleep comfort system again to see if I should have gone softer. Delivery time was longer than anticipated but the delivery guys were excellent, on time, and efficient.

After doing the bed test monitor and discussion with the assistant, being a side sleeper an extra firm bed was suggested, which did surprise me. The first few nights had very little sleep to the point where I bought a mattress topper to try and eliminate the pressure on my hips..It worked and I now have no problems with sleep..I totally understand when they say allow 40 nights before deciding if its for you. After day 7 the mattress started to settle in, however I now have everything crossed, that when I come to rotate the mattress im not back to square one and sleepless nights. In all honesty if i had the money i would change it and look for something with a built in topper.

I Bought this mattress for a vintage bed with oak wooden head and foot. I never thought about the depth of the mattress when I chose it. When it was delivered it was taken upstairs and put on the bed. I was surprised to see that it had come right to the top of the foot board. I removed the plastic covering and made the bed up with sheets and duvet etc, which of course made it even higher. To get into bed I have to take a little leap. But the mattress is very comfy - firm but comfy that was just what I wanted. It has a gorgeous rich fabric cover on it and I would highly recommend. I just wish it had been a little less deep for my bed.

This new mattress was delivered on 15th January (sale price was amazing so to good to miss), the ordering process and delivery time and contact from Dreams was great. Two very personable delivery chaps, who took their shoes off as soon as they entered my house! Now to the mattress: We are extremely pleased with the comfort. Having stayed at numerous Premiers Hotels for business and occasionally for pleasure I have always found their beds to be so comfortable, and now I am pleased to say I can have the same sleep comfort at home! No more backache! The finish of the mattress is very good, seems very well made and with a 10 year guarantee I don't think you can go far wrong. It is on the heavy side but that is to be expected, so it will take two to flip it over. It even has handles at either end not just on the sides, so that will help with any moving of the mattress that may be necessary. The only problem that I have come across so far - the bed is now so much more difficult to get out of on dark cold mornings!!! I definitely recommend Hypnos, and due to the price in the sale it was an even more perfect purchase. If you have always wanted one just go ahead and purchase it, you will not be disappointed, and I also recommend Dreams themselves from my recent experience.

My previous mattress owed me nothing. It belonged to my best friend, and was hardly used for 10 years, before I gave it a good home for another 6 years. It had become, like an inverted learning curve, exponentially less comfortable, to the point where it had become like sleeping on a grill tray. Action needed! My research led me to a concise profile of mattress type - double; pocket spring; medium firmness; up to £800. This was worth doing,as there are so many variations of mattress nowadays. I tried three mattresses, and like Goldilocks, found one mattress too hard, another one too soft, and as you may now presume, the third one, the Hypnos Swinton, was just right. Immediately just right. Not 'okay', it was spot on. I tried the other mattresses again, out of respect to them, but the choice was already made. And now, after two weeks sleeping with the new mattress, it's hard to believe I put up with the old mattress for so long. Yes, it's hard to get up in the mornings, but only because the mattress is so comfortable that I'd like to linger longer, but when I do get up, it's the start of a brilliant day, refreshed and with no aching back. Get a Hypnos Swinton - it's what sleep's all about.

I tried this mattress in the shop and it was a little softer than I expected although very comfortable . Decided to purchase as I felt reassured with the 40 days guarantee .On our divan base it is more firm compared to the slatted base in the shop . I must say the comfort is great -no need for a mattress topper and the fabric feels natural regulating our temperature through the night . My general aches and pains have disappeared and I'm waking feeling much more refreshed . I don't really pay attention to advertising and was unaware that Premier used this product .My choice came about after we stayed in a top hotel in Devon this year on holiday and it made me realise we needed a new mattress badly . In the morning my husband and I pulled back the sheets and mattress protector to discover it was made by Hypnos . I was totally convinced this was the one for us . Can't believe the price at Dreams but maybe it'll not last as long as the hotel quality ones which cost £1000's .But so far we are extremely happy and sleeping much better .I would highly recommend to anyone who just generally aches in the morning !

After staying in several premier inns I was pleased to find a mattress of the same make. Although there is no will topper it it soft but supportive, doesn't smell of fire retardant as did our last memory foam mattress that we returned to another shop. The edges aren't that firm but are fine. We preferred a flaxby but it was twice the price & not twice as good. It was just softer as it had more springs and w as made our a move natural filing (wool more than plastic bottles) although we are surrounded by plastic generally and we use a mattress protector. Overall very pleased with dreams and we have both had much better sleep since. Finally the showroom sale (although we couldn't view the exact mattress) delivery and aftercare follow-up was faultless. Well done dreams. Ps we liked the complimentary room spray. Probably for the memory foam mattresses that take Longer to evaporate the compulsory fire retardant spray.

I bought two mattresses in their recent sale. They were for 'spare' beds so I didn't want to spend a fortune but I wanted something decent. We were looking at the full range and was given some advice as I wanted quite a firm one and one that didn't sag when you sat on the edge! We were going for a sprung pocket one when they started bringing out the further sale stock items. Ex demo/ returns etc. The lady helping us excused her self and went to talk to the lady pulling out a mattress. It was the same one we were looking at! So the mattress was already half price in the sale and this one was nearly half price again!! We snapped it up. And whilst there wasn't the same one reduced further there was another one with great reductions. In the end we got two mattresses for £600 having saved ourselves £1500!!! Bargain! Kids have been back and slept on both mattresses and love them.
