Slumberland vs Hypnos Mattress Reviews

Before purchasing this Benson's mattress (<a href="http://bensonsforbeds.co.uk" target="_blank">bensonsforbeds.co.uk</a>), I discovered that the firmness of a mattress should be determined by a person's weight and sleeping position. There are many guides on the internet about this, such as sleepfoundation/best-mattress/mattress-firmness I am approx. 168 lbs in weight and a side sleeper, so I was very confident a good quality mattress which was medium firmness would be the best firmness for me. I am not disappointed with the Slumberland Natural Solutions 2000 medium firmness mattress. It is very comfortable although it feels much harder than my old mattress which was 17 years old and completely worn out. I chose the Natural Solutions 2000 mattress as it has natural fillings which are more breathable than foam layer mattresses. These natural fillings allow body heat to dissipate more efficiently than foam layered mattresses. This was very important to me as I live in a very well insulated building in a 1st floor flat, which also receives a lot of direct sunlight through the windows throughout the day and I tend to be a slightly 'hot' sleeper. I have not felt too warm in bed during August 2023 with my new Naturals mattress. The Slumberland Natural Solutions 2000 is also very good value for money when compared with other similar mattresses on the internet. The outer material feels high quality and so do the pocket springs when lying on them. It has 2000 pocket springs which helps isolate any movement a sleeping partner might make which helps to aid a good night's sleep, especially if someone sleeps with a 'restless' sleeper. Albeit expensive, what an absolutely fantastic mattress. We tried a few in the store (Llandudno) and were given loads of different tips, advice, and guidance, but this one really stood it for us in terms of quality, comfort, and price. We bought this alongside a King-sized ottoman and we could not be happier. Having used this mattress for just over two weeks, it's somewhat hard to believe, but we have slept-through the night every single night since we bought it, which isn't common for us! It is ridiculously comfortable, and just gets comfier the longer you lie on it. There is plenty of room to lie in comfort without disturbing the other person, and it doesn't seem to get too hot at night either. Despite the 1-star reviews - which I 100% disagree with - we have tried and tried to replicate the 'rolling over disturbs the other person' claim but it's just not true! The mattress seems to give a perfect balance when rolling over, and when awake or asleep, you can barely feel it. Once you're lying down, you just get comfier and you tend to stay in the same position without gettimg achey or fidgety which is great. I am a side-sleeper, and other half is a front-sleeper, and we adore this mattress. It suits us both perfectly. Our main concerns are that it is quite a tall mattress, so feels quite high off the ground/our bedside table at times (especially with our ottoman bedfeame), and extra deep fitted sheets only just cover the mattress on each side. We also just have a mattress topper, but are considering getting a full mattress cover (i.el wrap around the whole thing) instead, just to protect it that little bit more around the edges.

I wanted to use the mattress for a while before posting a review so after having slept on it for 2 months …. - woke up after the first night and realised I got up without backpain. I have a crushed vertebrae and most mornings I ache so this was a good start. 60 nights later I have also discovered that if I have back pain after a day I go to bed and I wake up with less pain so the mattress is definitely aiding my aches very well. - I suffer from insomnia and yet again since having bought this mattress I have been sleeping so well that even those nights are getting less and less. When I do have sleepless nights it is so comfortable it doesn't bother me to lay awake and just listen to some relaxing music. I have medium firmness by the way. The one thing I have noticed is that the topper is not holding its shape all that well. It's only me using the mattress so that's a bit of a concern at the moment and something I will need to watch as the months go by. But after a lifetime of mattresses and back pain and sleepless nights this is the one and only mattress that so far has aided that THE BEST. Definitely worth buying if you have struggled with some of the same issues I have.

I've had this mattress coming up to 3 years and it's the biggest mistake ever. It was amazing at first, I bought a form as I'm a stomach sleeper. Now I wake up multiple times in the night with back back as it dips in the middle.. apparently this is perfectly normal. It is apparently supposed to mould into your body, no it does not. It dips in the middle. I honestly this there is a design fault with the memory foam but Bensons for beds will never admit to this. I emailed bensons for beds customer service and the advice I received was to sleep on the edges to help flappen it down so it's more even. This isn't even a joke , I have the emails, I was told how I should sleep and what positions. I sleep alone and have down since I bought this bed, I'm not over weight either, that shouldn't even matter if I was over weight, I can't imagine how bad this mattress would be if it was getting bounced on regularly. I'm 5ft2 and 9st so for it to dip in the middle is absurd. I've had a mattress technician around today to measure it and do some test on it. I'm under no illusions bensons for beds are going to tell me it's all perfectly normal. Well it's not perfectly normal. I bought a memory foam topper hoping this would help but it hasn't. They told me I wasn't turning it enough. Wrong - I turned it every 3 weeks, now I'm doing it weekly.. The excuses they will make up to tell you this is normal for a mattres.. Well no it is not, I had a silent night memory foam for 10 years prior and not a single problem with that. Looks like I'll be buying another mattress as I know I can't carry on sleeping on this, I don't look forward to going to bed as I wake up multiple times. And how do I know it's the mattress keeping me awake? Well I've been away for 2 weeks and it was the best nights sleep I've had in a very long time as the mattress was amazing and I didn't get a back ache once. So please let my experience be a warning, there are loads of amazing mattresses out there, please don't waste your money on this. I'm not looking into getting a new mattress.

I loved this mattress in store. It was delightfully firm and supportive, while also being really comfortable and seemed like it would offer me the support I really wanted and solve the aches and discomfort I was experiencing with the mattress I had at the time. It was notably more than I intended to spend, but it was on offer and I felt it would be a worthwhile investment. I wish I hadn't bothered. I really wish I'd just gone for a much cheaper mattress from an online store. I think the quality would have been comparable, the cost a lot less, and the delivery much faster. Within a few weeks, despite turning the mattress as required every wee (and boy, is this mattress heavy) it had developed a noticeable dip. When I took photos of this dip and sent it to Bensons, I was told this was normal, did not look like a fault and therefore I could not get a refund. I was offered to exchange my mattress under the 40 night guarantee, but told that I would have to pay 10 percent of my original purchase price to do so, and pay another delivery charge of £49. Also, because my mattress had been on sale when I ordered it, if I simply chose the same mattress again (in the hopes this was just a faulty mattress) I'd have to pay the difference of several hundred pounds. I pressed the issue, and a technician was sent out to see if the product was faulty. He was very nice and empathised with my frustrations, but he said, according to Bensons, this type of dipping, even within weeks (and despite it causing me back pain) was considered acceptable. I understand that some settling is normal, but a dip of over 1cm (nearly 1.5cm) in under 3 weeks? That's not acceptable to me. Especially not at this rice point. It's very noticeable when lying on the 'edge' of the dip, and I can feel myself rolling in to it. I'm just really disappointed. The pre-sale service I received in store was great, but the product is clearly not of an acceptable quality, and the after-purchase customer service was very poor. I tried this Hypnos mattress at our local store and knew instantly, that having looked for some time for a wool mattress that this was the one. The sales person at the store was very informative and there was currently a competitive price on it. It is an expensive mattress but learning about the credentials of Hypnos and how many hours of a life are spent sleeping, it seemed a sound investment. Bensons really provide a good service, taking away our old mattress, and the crew who delivered it were friendly and professional. The mattress initially felt hard, but that is to be expected with a new bed. I have been rotating it once a week and can feel that it is beginning to relax. It feels higher than our previous mattress and quite luxurious. One of the factors that drew me to a wool mattress was to have cooler night sleeps. As its winter I've yet to test this out. Overall I am really pleased with this mattress, and am sleeping much better than previously. The only negative is the wait for delivery which was around 2 months! However I believe that this is because it is a quality product with hand made attention. Finally the follow up email communications with Bensons has been great, which makes you feel that you are a valued customer.

I waited approximately 6 weeks and several mattress turns before my review for my Hypnos Earth 01. I changed my original mattress from Bensons for this one, big upgrade £ wise. I wanted a firm mattress with a soft outer. I took the advice and swapped for the Hypnos 01 Firm instead of Extra firm. The mattress is super comfortable just dips a little when in it (I weigh 9.5 stone). I have never slept better so now I can justify the outlay! No getting used to it at all, I drop off so quickly and stay asleep all night. On reflection I would have ordered the Extra firm as this mattress is well padded with my theory being it might last longer but I know diddly squat about mattresses to be honest. Really impressed with Hypnos though, lovely quality. Onto Bensons; they were so helpful. On changing my mattress to communications generally just excellent. From customer services, the delivery coordinator and the delivery guys. It really blows your mind when you get really good service these days, they follow through on everything. My sister in law recommended them, she wouldn't use any other company and I see why! Highly recommend and many thanks to you all. A happy sleeper ????

I bought the Hypnos Inspired by Nature 02 from my local Bensons for Beds showroom three weeks ago. The staff there were great: very helpful, patient with all my questions and clearly knowledgeable. I have no complaints about the service I received in store. I chose this mattress because it was made from natural materials and because of Hypnos's reputation for quality and comfort. With a retail price of £2,299, I expected something that felt and looked genuinely premium. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience. When the mattress arrived, I was immediately underwhelmed by the finish. The beading around the edge was uneven, the label was stitched on crookedly, and overall it just didn't look like a mattress costing over £2,000. I know these things don't necessarily affect how well you sleep, but at this price I'd expect better attention to detail. After just three weeks, I'm also disappointed with how the mattress itself is holding up. I find the tufts incredibly uncomfortable, and the sides started to lose their shape after only a week. There's now a drop of around 1.5 cm along the sides, despite the fact that I don't sit on the edge of the bed. I've also noticed that the outer fabric is already loose enough to pinch into folds where it appears to have separated from the filling. I appreciate that natural fillings settle over time, but I'm struggling to understand how these changes can be considered acceptable after such a short period of use. After the first week, I visited a larger Bensons showroom and mentioned to a member of staff that the sides of their display Hypnos mattresses appeared to have collapsed. I was told that this would happen after a couple of months. I found that quite concerning, particularly given what I was already noticing with my own mattress. The biggest issue for me is that the mattress simply doesn't feel luxurious. Between the uncomfortable tufts, the changes in the sides and the overall finish, it hasn't lived up to what I expected from either Hypnos or a mattress at this price. I honestly feel sick when I think about how much I spent compared with what I've ended up with. I want to be clear that the staff at my local Bensons were excellent, and I appreciate the time they took to help me choose a mattress. Bensons also has a good range of products for different budgets and needs. But my experience with this particular mattress has been a huge disappointment, and I don't feel it represents good value for money.

Exchanged our mattress to the medium tension this was the biggest mistake we've ever made. Warning to everyone this states medium but it is so soft instantly I was in so much pain with my back cannot sleep on it at all £2700 down the drain. we are not heavy people and even after a short time there is dipping. My husband has been persevering on it to see if we just needed to adjust but definitely not The mattress is too soft. I personally cannot sleep on it at all and I'm currently in another room until we have the chance to go out and find another mattress. This really was a huge mistake, particularly after going on Hypnos website and themselves even stating a lot of their mattresses are sold and marketed as medium but in fact they feel is medium soft. This is nothing like what we tried in store absolutely devastated.
