If you're in the market for a luxurious and comfortable bed frame that can improve your sleep quality and style, I highly recommend considering the Tempur Reign Velvet Finish Bed Frame. This bed frame is specifically designed to complement the Tempur range of mattresses, which are well-known for their pressure-relieving and adaptive properties. One of the standout features of this bed frame is its sprung slats. When I ran my hand over the velvet finish, it felt soft and plush rather than rough or scratchy.
Sprung slats are curved or bowed wooden slats that are attached to a flexible base. They are commonly found in wood, metal, fabric or leather bed frames, and they offer a more supportive and responsive surface for your mattress than solid slats or mesh bases.
There are several advantages to using sprung slats, including:
Mattress longevity: Slats that are sprung prevent your mattress from sagging or dipping in one spot, which can help it last longer. They also allow air to circulate under your mattress, which can prevent moisture buildup and mould growth. That said, if you're using a very heavy mattress, you will want to make sure the slats stay properly seated and the centre rail is doing its job.
Pressure point relief: Sprung slats conform to your body shape and weight distribution, reducing stress or pressure on your joints or pressure points. This can improve your blood circulation and reduce pain or stiffness in the morning. When I pressed down across the slats, you can feel that little bit of give compared to a rigid base.
Shock absorbance: These act as shock absorbers for your mattress, cushioning it from sudden movements or impacts. This can reduce noise and vibration that can disturb your sleep or damage your mattress.
Comfort adjustment: The base allows you to adjust the firmness or softness of your mattress by changing the tension of the slats. You can tighten or loosen them according to your preference or needs. It's not something you'll be tweaking every week though, and it can be a bit fiddly to get both sides feeling perfectly even.
The Tempur Reign Velvet Finish Bed Frame features two rows of sprung slats that span across its width in the majority of larger sizes. The slats are made of durable beech wood and have an adjustable tension system that lets you customise their firmness. The bed frame also has a central support rail that adds stability and strength to the structure.
The sprung slats work well with any mattress, improving its pressure-relieving and adaptive qualities. The velvet finish upholstery and elegant design of the bed frame also create a luxurious look and feel for your bedroom. Sitting on the edge, it held up well, but you do get a bit more dip than you would on a divan style base.
To that end, I highly recommend the Tempur Reign Velvet Finish Bed Frame for anyone looking to improve their sleep comfort, support, hygiene, and durability. Its flexible and responsive base can offer a range of benefits, and its choice of colours, in king or super king size, can match any decor.
