Owners mostly talk about how smart it looks and how well the colour suits the room, and others find it comfortable to sit up against (“So comfy to sit up against”, one wrote).
The padding isn't especially deep, so it's not one for a plush lean-back.
I got my hands on the Slumberland Freya Headboard in-store and, straight away, it felt like one of those pieces that can make a bed look properly finished. Running my hand across the upholstery, it’s got that soft, padded feel you want behind your pillows, and it gives you a nice bit of comfort when you’re sat up reading. Outfit your bed with a luxurious upholstered headboard to provide a sophisticated resting place that's guaranteed to impress, but do bear in mind it’s a headboard, not a miracle worker, if your wall or bed frame is a bit wobbly you’ll still notice it.
Freya headboards are designed to be the perfect partner to your bed. With their classic good looks, they enhance the décor of any bedroom, and provide a luxurious upholstered surface for relaxing in bed or propping up your tablet for Netflix binges.
In use, I found the padding supportive without feeling rock hard, but it’s not massively deep, so if you like a really chunky, sink-in headboard to lean on for ages, you might want something plusher. Also worth saying, lighter fabrics will show marks quicker if you’ve got kids, pets, or you’re the type to eat toast in bed, so it’s one to keep an eye on.

We've expanded on the specifications of the product to better help you understand its benefits.
Padding in a headboard can provide a softer and more comfortable surface to lean against, this can be especially beneficial for people who like to read or watch TV in bed. It can also provide a more padded surface than a plain wooden headboard, which can be beneficial for people who suffer from back pain or discomfort when sitting up in bed.
The product is available in various sizes to accommodate different bed frame dimensions and individual preferences. Whether you need a compact Single size, a slightly larger Small Double or Double, a spacious King, or an indulgent Super King, you can find the perfect fit for your sleeping needs.
A strutted headboard is a headboard that attaches to the side of the bed frame rather than sitting on the floor. This is one of the most common forms of attachment found on headboards
Having a choice of 12 different colours provides customers with a wide range of options and allows them to find the perfect colour to match their bedding and room decor.
Handcrafted UK production is the stated claim. For a headboard, that label leaves the extent of handwork unclear, making its materials and finish useful buying details.
Slumberland provides eight years of guarantee cover for the headboard.
