Nothing can give your room a quick and fantastic facelift like the right headboard. It's where fashion meets function, and comfort greets design, especially when it's the Dream Team Helvellyn Headboard. This gorgeous UK-made headboard with a classic panelled design might just be the perfect partner your bed has been waiting for. Handmade at the Dreams Bed Factory, it echoes inimitable craftsmanship, luxury, and style that could very well be the focal point of your bedroom. But is the Dream Team Helvellyn Headboard worthy of your investment? Let's put it under the critical microscope of our review process.
How We Tested
Our testing process was incredibly thorough. We measure every aspect of the Dream Team Helvellyn Headboard from the quality of its components, the luxury of the fabric, right through to its comfort, in varying conditions. We also take into account practicality, examining factors such as ease of assembly, durability and most importantly, comfort for leaning against especially during extended periods of reading or watching TV in bed. Our reviews also look at the aesthetics and how the available colour options work in different room settings.
Design and Features
The Helvellyn's design is a beautiful blend of sophistication and comfort. With a classic panelled pattern and vertical lines, it has a timeless allure that can transcend a range of interior styles. Available in either smooth velveteen or boutique weave fabric, it can cater to different texture preferences. Eight different colour variations offer the potential to highlight your room's interior or match with your existing decor. Functionality is not compromised with luxurious padding guaranteed to provide a cosy resting spot during relaxation. Opt between the strutted or full height versions depending on your room's size and your personal style.
Construction
The Dream Team Helvellyn Headboard is constructed for durability and comfort with careful attention to detail by skilled craftsmen at Dreams Bed Factory. Its classic panelled design and vertical lines echo the superior workmanship that results in an incredibly solid construction without trading-off comfort or aesthetic appeal. We recommend the super-soft velveteen over the boutique weave for an elevated plush feeling. While probably pricier, it guarantees an additional layer of comfort without disrupting the headboard's general allure.
Suitability
If you're in the market for a plush, elegant headboard that offers you the flexibility to make a perfect match with your divan base, the Helvellyn Headboard is a fitting choice. Available in a variety of neutral colours, it harmonises easily with your room's interiors. However, if your décor is more on the lively side, the colour options might seem a bit limited. Despite its quality construct and lavish feel, if budget constraints are a concern, cheaper alternatives in the market can still meet your needs. Always remember though, comfort goes beyond the monetary value.
What Customers Thought
Owners mostly like how the Helvellyn looks and feels. The colours come up often, olive green and pink among them, and the fabric gets described as soft, with one owner noting a "very tactile feel". People who chose the full height version mention how solid it is. One owner wrote, "Going all the way to the ground it feels really secure." Fitting it to the base is usually described as easy. Several owners say it's comfortable to sit back against in bed.
The complaints are fewer and mostly about finish. One owner found that "None of the curves are stitched straight!" and another said the fabric on the vertical joins is "a bit gappy and bumpy in places". That second owner also found the full height headboard "can be wobbled when pushed" once it was fitted to an ottoman base. One review calls the backing fabric "very thin and cheap" and points out that the backs aren't on show in the showroom. Price splits opinion: some owners call it reasonable value, while one found it "very expensive for what it is really".
The Verdict
Overall, the Dream Team Helvellyn Headboard makes a bold statement in the bedroom. It's where quality meets style and comfort marries functionality. This headboard in particular enhances the aesthetic appeal of the room, has luxury, and presents good value for money considering its prominent features. It would be the perfect addition for those forming an opinion towards pure comfort and a traditional decor choice. However, if budget is a concern or bright, bold colours are more your style, it may be worth exploring other options on the market.
