I got my hands on the Newark headboard recently and it really is a simple way to change the look of a bedroom without going full-on makeover. It features a padded, upholstered headboard with a thick foam pad for that extra bit of comfort, and when I leaned back against it, it felt properly cushioned rather than that thin padding you sometimes get at this price. Running my hand across the upholstery, it felt smooth and tidy, but do bear in mind lighter fabrics will show marks quicker if you’ve got kids, pets, or you’re the type to eat breakfast in bed.

Choose from an array of fabrics that are both easy to clean and durable enough to withstand your daily life. The frame has been built to last, thanks to its solid wood construction, and it felt sturdy when I gave it a gentle wobble, no obvious flexing. That said, it’s worth checking your bed base fixings before you buy, as headboards like this can be a bit of a faff if your base doesn’t line up nicely, and you don’t get the same ‘locked in’ feel as a floor-standing design.

A 1-year guarantee ensures that if anything happens to your headboard, it will be replaced, but I’ll be honest, one year is on the short side compared to some brands that go longer on furniture like this.

Well... How can a simple order of 3 parts be screwed up so bad? You had one job. And that was to drill holes in the right places in both wooden supports. It doesn't fit! Therefore it's not a headboard. The two pieces of wood I was given were different in almost every possible way. The right one was brown and had 2 holes, and in the right places. The wrong one was yellow (In photos) and had 3 holes for some reason. And a mark where the other hole NEEDED to be. Tried going through support and it's gonna take them an entire month just to send me a piece of wood that fits.

I have had this headboard for just less than a month and there is a imperfection in the corner already. Caused by what I'm unsure, may have always been there. But i would have expected the material to be more durable and better quality. A real shame because otherwise it looks great with the base. Really disappointed.

The headboards themselves are basic but decent for the price. The timber strut mounting that comes with this headboard is flimsy, meaning it bends back when you lean in the headboard. Not unusual, just the way it is with this type of headboard. I mounted the headboards directly onto the wall in the end.

Happy with bed base,delivery & customer service, however the quality control could be better. Staples where left sticking out on the opening edge of bed base & the top section doesn't completely line up where screwed together. Apart from that I'm pleased with the item.

I recently purchased the Headboard from Dreams and I am absolutely in love with it! I was initially drawn to the headboard's sleek and modern design, but I was also impressed with its affordability. The headboard is made of high-quality materials and is very well-constructed. It was also very easy to install. The headboard has completely transformed the look of my bedroom. It adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the space, and I love that it makes my bed look even more inviting. But what I love most about the headboard is how comfortable it is. I ordered this item and had it delivered two weeks ago. It is an ottoman divan so we have additional storage under the full base of the bed without the bulky frame (which is ideal for us as our bedroom is long but not very wide). It is lined with wood so can store just about any item. The Wakefield mattress is extremely comfortable with a memory foam layer on top of the mattress and as I struggle with my back if the bed is too soft, it provides the ideal level of support. We also bought the cloud pillows which are amazingly comfortable. These products combined have resulted in some great nights sleep! The delivery was stress free, as we received regular delivery updates and the two delivery men carefully carried everything into the bedroom and built the bed there. I would definitely recommend as this was a pain free, stress free and very comfortable choice; absolute value for money!

This is a really a very well maufatured bed with quality materials. It not like a most of the other ottoman bases we have looked at many use very thin wood boards and not very good steel fixtures and fittings and light weight rods as well, they also mainly open straight onto the floor or some bit of cloath base just velcro to the sides where as this has a real base off the floor andsl solid boards. Plus the bed base board is very solid and thick enoigh for the job as well we put are own 45cm mattress ontop and it was still easy for my wife to lift the base up. Be warned the boxes are veryheavy all fuve of them and it also really need 2 persons to put it together as wsll took my son and another person nesly 2hrs to put it all together properly plus carry it all up i to the bed room. Well worth the money time and effort though, recommemd to anyone that wants a great ottoman bed.

My shop experience was great from start to finish, Eve dealt professionally with my queries and kept my son amused at the same time, she made us feel comfortable and under no pressure. I received excellent service from the shop team, I ended up buying two double 4 drawer divans with headboards and a new mattress for my kids. The in store experience was excellent. The lady who dealt with me (really sorry, I've forgotten her name) was professional and helpful. I had to wait a long time for the delivery of my bed, however. When it arrived, there were no instructions on how to put it together. I went to the armoire where they printed them out for me and showed me what to do using a store bed. However, the instruction leaflet still wasn't clear and I was left to figure out that the bed parts were the wrong way round by myself. The bed itself is very comfortable and I'm glad I bought it.

This was for a spare room and a great choice within my price range. I opted for a divan and the two drawer option, which is such a benefit. I slept in this bed when it was first delivered and it is now in the master bedroom as it is that comfortable. I strongly recommend this product. Dreams also have a great choice of headboards, so I bought one at the same time and this resulted in me getting half price pillows. Such a great deal overall. I know this is a product review, but I must state that the delivery guys were amazing.

I was treated with respect by a friendly Assistant called Debra who offered me coffee, a seat as I'm disabled and 81 years old. She helped me to choose a small double bed and a delivery to suit me. The only complaint I have is my welcome card said Pillow yes But I have not received any pillows. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your store to any of my acquaintances or family members. Overall I am very happy with this headboard which I had I originally ordered two of from Dreams (along with the two single bed from Dreams). The only problem was that once everything was delivered and we set up the beds I realised that we didn't need one of the headboards so i rang customer services and was told that once delivered they do not accept returns! After much discussion and a gesture of goodwill from them, they did accept the return but I had to pay for collection as returning to store wasn't an option.

The sleep lab confirmed we are both "firm" sleepers and we chose our mattress. I often wake with pain in my hips and back. After a few nights getting used to our new mattress I was pleased to find I wasn't being woken by pain in my hips and back and we were both having a good nights sleep. The only regret we have is that we didn't buy our new dreams mattress sooner. We actually wake up feeling rested and refreshed after waking up feeling tired, weary and with painful joints for far too long on our old mattress.

I decided to go from a slatted frame bed to a divan its still a double bed frame but so much more compact and also decided to have the divan drawers for storage which have lots of room and also the style and quality is great not to mention how comfy it is too Delivery was as the expected time and daye with the delivery crew being so polite and helpful and very neat as I had paid extra for the bed to be assembled so all oackaging was taken Would definately recommend Dreams and the admin team

I am so happy with this purchase! The divan frame seems sturdy enough and nice deep chocolate colour, only time will tell how the drawers hold out but so far so good. The mattress is perfect... The medium firmness and superking size makes sleeping so much easy for pregnant me and my 6"4 husband. I took a risk with the layer of memory foam as in my previous experience this made us too hot but this doesn't seem to be the case with this bed. The headboard is a welcome extra too!

Was greater as I entered the shop by kat who offered me and my granddaughter a drink while she carefully listened to exactly what I was looking for. She then set up the machine for me to get the correct mattress and then showed me the options. Excellent quality product for a reasonable price, fits very securely onto the bed which distinguishes it from most of the reasonably priced single headboards out there and is a good height so functions properly for what a headboard should do. Had wanted it initially in the beige material but was out of stock so settled for the beige faux leather and it looks great, plus will get less grimy as easier to clean. After having purchased a bed frame and two different mattresses from other companies in the last two years, mum was still not happy with the comfort level of her bed. Can't complain really. Have had a lot of good sleep after long day of work. From sale to delivery everyone was helpful, patient, and accomodating based on our needs. Spent some time in store going through options. Order processing was smooth. Delivery team turned up on time on day of delivery. I was a bit disappointed with the quality of this bed for the price and there were no instructions to put it together. I did it by myself though in a small room which was a challenge! The mattress I bought slips around on the divan base which is also annoying. My son says its very comfortable and it fit the space perfectly. I guess I just expected better quality from Dreams.

This bed was the best investment we made in years. It is incredibly comfortable and the size (super kingsize) is perfect for us. We bought the bed, mattress and headboard whilst on sale and it was a bargain. The additional services we requested - putting bed together and removing our old mattress - were a Godsend. As a poor sleeper, the memory foam has been a great choice.

The best bed and it's very comfortable! I've always had a good sleep ever since I bought it and I can't wait to jump into bed every night!. I bought the first headboard for my double bed from Dreams a few years ago and I love it. It is so comfortable and easy to clean. It looks simple but modern. So when I recently bought my new kingsize bed I ordered the same headboard. The delivery service is very smooth and they advised me the specific time slot on the day of arrival. The staff at the shop in Aintree were very helpful and polite, providing good service. However, when the beds were delivered, one of them had no fittings for the castors to be pushed into. We had to put the base on the floor (rendering the drawers unusable) until a team could call to fit the tapers for the castors. This could not happen for 3 days.

I ordered a new mattress online which was simple and straightforward with a date for delivery quickly given. I also requested removal of the old mattress and was sent packaging for it well in advance. The delivery crew were very helpful and smartly attired. I am very pleased with my newark headboard. The original headboard had a dent in it when the driver unpacked it, so a replacement was ordered. The man who came to fit it was very concerned that it was at the right height and exactly where I wanted it. It is plain so matches everything in the room and is easy to keep clean. Very pleased with it.

Went to the store to have a look around, but was followed everywhere by sales people, so decided to purchase online. Was easy to do , had text with delivery time and arrived as per text. Looks ok but knocks the wall if I turn over in bed as only 1screw in each side so it has too much movement if I move the headboard down so I can put the lower screw in the oadded headbord stops the mattress fitting properly, ie mattress then sits in front of headboard so the bottom of mattress overhangs the base. Not a good design.

This is a well build headboard, but the 2 pieces of wood to attach it to the bed, felt a little on the thin side, but didn't feel flimsy. This didn't come with the necessary screws to go into the headboard, but this was quickly rectified by the store I purchased from and I was able to collect replacements the same day

This is a great headboard. I struggle personally with drafts on my neck when I am sleeping which is why I chose to go with a solid headboard. It has certainly improved my sleep! Not to mention it feels incredibly good quality, and supports you perfectly if you need to sit against the headboard for whatever reason.

Bought this bed in the Easter sales. Love the fact I now have extra storage space as I opted for the 4 divan drawers. Mattress took about a week to get used to as went from having a well worn very old soft mattress to a firm but now I'm used to it it's great. No longer wake up with aches and pains. Can't fault it.

Unfortunately I couldn't attach it to my Divan base as the bottom of the bed is enclosed, however it is wedged firmly against the wall by the bed and mattress and seems to be fine. A bargain find!

What is the height when fitted to Classic Ottoman base? Is it 30cm (height of ottoman) plus 50cm (height of headboard) making combined height 80cm or is space allowed for the mattress? If so, can the position be adjusted depending on mattress thickness?

Answer: You can attach the headboard so it fits directly on top of the divan base, the divan base is 37cm so the total would be 87cm,. However you can also adjust the headboard struts to make the headboard sit higher so the mattress can fit between them. This height would vary depending on where you adjust the headboard to.

my bed frame is only 13 inches tall, does this mean that the wooden struts would go above the frame and mattress?

Answer: The wood struts would go above the frame, but not necessarily the mattress as it depends on the depth of the mattress. The height of the struts can be adjusted so the actual headboard sits just above the mattress and the struts are covered.

Answer: The Headboard is designed to be attached to a Bed Base. We would advise you do this as it can void any guarantee and may even be a health and safety hazard. If your base is not compatible then it might be worth looking into purchasing one.

Is it safe to only use the top bolts when fixing the headboard to the divan? The bolts on the bottom are placed so it meets the skirting board, creating a space between the wall and the bed/headboard.

Answer: The headboard can be attached to the divan with just the top bolts. However if you move the divan please keep in mind it will not be as secure.
