The Silentnight Healthy Growth Astro Eco 600 Pocket Mattress is a well-designed mattress made for kids, with healthy growth and comfort in mind. It’s made in the UK and has a medium firmness that’s not too soft and not too hard, so it should suit children of different ages and weight ranges. It’s also approved by the National Bed Federation, which means it meets solid standards for quality and safety.
The Support Layer The main feature here is the pocket spring system, made up of 600 individual springs, each sat in its own fabric pocket. They react individually to your child’s body, giving more tailored support and helping with spinal alignment and pressure relief. The spring unit is also zoned, so certain areas have a higher concentration of springs to give extra support where it’s needed most. That can be handy for kids who need a bit more support through areas like the lower back or hips.
The Comfort Layer On top of the springs, the Silentnight Healthy Growth Astro Eco 600 Pocket Mattress has a layer of EcoComfort Fibre™ fillings. These are made from recycled plastic and are designed to stay breathable and fresh. They help keep your child cooler and more comfortable through the night, and using recycled materials makes the mattress a bit more environmentally friendly. There’s also a lightweight outer fabric that helps airflow, which adds to that cooler sleeping feel.
It’s also hypoallergenic and free from chemical treatments, which is good news if your child is sensitive to certain materials. The mattress is single-sided too, so you don’t need to flip it to keep it in shape. Just rotate it head to foot now and then to even out wear. Easy to look after.
