Introducing the Hayden Platform Ottoman Bed Frame
Those of us who cherish modern, Scandi, and Japandi-inspired designs will find the Hayden Platform Ottoman Bed Frame truly enchanting. With a foundation in the mattress industry spanning over a decade, I have seen a range of bed frame designs from the conventional to the clever. Visiting the store, the Hayden Platform Ottoman Bed Frame caught my eye; it is an exquisite representation of functional design and contemporary aesthetics. Naturally, my interest piqued, and I ventured to look into the specifics of this product.
Design and Features
First off, the aesthetic appeal of this bed frame cannot be overstated. Its modern-slash-Scandi-style design is a nod to minimalism, portraying a truly laid-back feel. The low-rise design motivates a sense of spaciousness, especially beneficial for smaller bedrooms. This bed frame also features a solid wood strutted statement headboard, available in white or natural oak finishes, allowing you to choose based on your bedroom's existing style and colour scheme.
The Hayden bed frame exhibits practicality in tandem with aesthetics. It is of paramount importance, especially for urban dwellers, to optimise space usage. To this end, the bed frame features an end-opening ottoman, offering an additional 25cm depth of accessible storage. This is perfect for those items desperately seeking a home - be it that overflowing bed linen, those cosy plush toys, or even excess clothing. The inclusion of the ottoman support bar ensures the bed remains elevated while the ottoman is in use, providing a seamless user experience. Sprung slats, another vital feature of the Hayden bed design, are designed to complement your mattress, lending a cushioning effect.
Construction
The bed frame's construction is another aspect worth exploring. The structure has a robust build quality with internal storage boards matching the colour of your selected finish which provides a harmonious and uniform look. Its solid wood strutted headboard adds not only aesthetic value but also durability to the product. Yet, while the construction seems robust, the 1-year guarantee offered leaves a bit to be desired. I believe a longer guarantee period could provide more assurance to potential buyers considering this is a significant investment.
Suitability
One must keep in mind the potential challenges this bed frame might pose. Its low-rise design, while being in vogue and contributing to a heightened perception of space, may seem a bit too low for some. This is particularly the case for those who struggle with mobility or prefer a higher bed for ease of getting in and out. Similarly, while the end-opening ottoman storage concept is solid, it might not be the perfect fit for rooms with limited end space. The sprung slats, while adding cushioned support, might contribute to reducing mattress firmness slightly, which could be a point of concern depending on your mattress preference.
What Customers Thought
It's always valuable to consider customer feedback for additional perspectives. Owners mostly talk about how the bed looks and how much it stores. One wrote 'We love the colour and style which fits into our mid century modern scandi style place', and another said of the storage 'It has given us another room'. Several call the frame solid or sturdy and say it went together without much trouble, though one wrote 'I would recommend having two people'. The complaints are fewer. One owner wrote that after about six months 'it has really started to creak'. Another found 'the metal arm that holds the bed up can wobble quite a lot', and a third said the closing mechanism was 'quite stiff'. Some had parts arrive damaged or faulty.
The Verdict
The Hayden Platform Ottoman Bed Frame is a tasteful blend of contemporary design and optimal functionality. Its modern, yet minimalist, design matches well with premium finishes to complement different bedroom styles. The inclusion of the end-opening ottoman offers practical storage space, proving particularly beneficial for those with limited room space.
However, as with any product, there are a few nuances to consider. The 1-year guarantee could certainly be improved, as could notions surrounding the bed's low-rise design and sprung slats. While these factors might not be deal-breakers for many, they are certainly aspects that potential buyers should consider.
In the grand scheme of bedding solutions and the range of available options, the Hayden Platform Ottoman Bed Frame stands out as a high-quality, aesthetically pleasing product that ticks several boxes. You can have it set up by a professional, or if you are handy with a toolkit, consider it a rewarding weekend project. To sweeten the deal further, a matching bedside chest is available, completing the sleek, harmonious look of your bedroom haven.
