Great bed. Not solid oak throughout and even where it's solid wood, it isn't always single-piece, but is veneered to appear so. Acceptable for the price. The biggest issue was that the first one we had delivered was very badly damaged. The boxes had been taped up (badly), so it was known damage that appeared to have occurred in the warehouse. The headboard was smashed, and there was damage on the other parts too. Bensons did replace it without any quibble (the photos were fairly compelling) but we did have to wait several weeks, while we had to store the broken one and sleep on a mattress on the floor.

This is a great looking bed. We wanted a wooden ottoman bed as we didn't like the fabric ones, and also wanted a solid base to it so that items were not just on the floor. Took a while but finally found this one. The frame seems solid and there is plenty of storage space. It was easy to assemble. Recommended 2 people but was able to do it by myself easily enough. Only thing I could criticise really would be that you only have a fabric strap to lift the mattress up to access the storage area, a more robust metal handle would probably be better, and would stop the mattress sliding downward on the bed aswell.

The Edgemont Ottaman bed frame is a godsend! The space under the mattress is now home to several seasons of quilts and bedding. Loads and loads of easily accessible storage. Pulling on the black cord at the foot of the bed and the hydraulic whatsits make lifting the weight of the heavy mattress so easy. Once constructed the frame itself has a really distinctive look and feels like quality craftsmanship went into the manufacturing. Its a very strongly built item and I would like to thank my mate and his electric tools for the assembly. Kevin G52

This was our second purchase from BfB. The staff (Swindon) are always really friendly and helpful. Delivery was on time and the driver and mate were cheerful and did exactly as requested without fuss. Assembly was simple with accurate drillings and reasonably quality fixtures (they don't feel like they're about the fall apart. For the price, the finish of the bed is good. The only thing I found annoying was the volume of polystyrene packing foam. It was also of a type that crumbles easily - making one hell of a mess. On the whole - great!

Love this Bed, Second one I have purchased as they are just so good. Takes a while to assembly on your own. but really well packed and easy to understand the instructions. No parts were damaged in transit. Note there is a lot of packaging to dispose of due to the level of packaging required to protect the product. Bed is really sturdy and great quality. Space underneath is enormous. perfect for a small flat with minimal storage and space to slide out under bed draws. Price is reasonable but you can always want something to be cheaper.

This is a sturdy, well made bed. The opening mechanism is good. It has good instructions for making it but is a two person job to ensure nothing is damaged in the process. Comes with extra wood mattress support planks in case any break. Is packaged supremely well to avoid damage in transport. Would recommend this bed. Storage space is deep and the base wood pieces can be moved to the floor to give even more space for storage. Bed doesn't wobble or feel weak when you get in or out- there is no squeak or movement.

A good sturdy bed, with easy to operate ottoman. It is delivered in a number of boxes that are extremely heavy, the delivery men left them in our hallway where we had to unpack each box and carry the individual pieces upstairs. Instructions were easy to follow and no piece were missing, in fact we ended up with some spare fittings (even after double checking we hadn't missed anything). Looks great in our bedroom. Looking to order the matching side tables soon.

Incredibly sturdy but comes in 3 huge boxes each weighing 45kg+ ( according to the box so strong floors needed! As it holds a huge amount inside. The build instructions are clear and straightforward for most people to follow but you do need to be methodical and probably better for two to do it- be prepared for 2hrs+ 2 or more definitely best way to put mattress on. One completed it looks amazing and the lift mechanism is clever and very effective

Great bed frame, easy enough to assemble. Storage space is really good, especially with having base boards (some ottoman beds don't). Sprung base lats make for a comfortable base. Mechanism is great for raising and lowering the bed, but one minor criticism is that the cord for starting to raise the bed could do with being slightly longer and having a toggle' on it, as it's quite difficult to grasp.

On assembly I found damage to the bed, caused by bad packaging and not being handled properly it clear states a 2 man lift each of the 3 boxes were carried into the property by a single person, this clearly is not to their working practice and a major contributor to the damage, luckily I'm handy with DIY and sorted the issue, be careful to check the boxes before the delivery driver disappears!!

Great bed and really well made with lost of space underneath - feels totally solid Was simple enough to put together. The only negative i would say is the use of lots of polystyrene in the packaging. It's great the bed is so well protected but I wonder if some other material could be used. That aside would recommend this bed and we're both really happy with it.
