The price is more than reasonable.
The complaint that comes up most in the low ratings is noise. Several owners say the frame started creaking or squeaking within weeks or months, and tightening the bolts didn't cure it: "it’s been creaking from the second month of having it", one owner wrote. The fabric is the other regular gripe. One owner said "it attracts hair, dust, and lint like a magnet", though another who has had the bed five years finds "regular lint rolling and vacuuming keeps on top of it". Some owners also find the ottoman heavy to lift with a mattress on it, and older reviews of the dark grey warn that it arrived looking blue or teal.
I got my hands on the Deacon Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame recently and it does a really nice job of mixing that plush, hotel-style look with something genuinely useful. With high headboard button detailing, front end opening ottoman and storage depth of 23cm, this frame is as practical as it is stylish. Running my hand across the upholstery, it felt soft and properly padded, and the button detailing looks smart up close rather than a bit 'stuck on'.
On the practical side, the front end opening ottoman is handy if your bed sits tight between furniture, but it does mean you need a bit of clear space at the foot of the bed to lift it comfortably. I also found the 23cm storage depth is decent for spare bedding and pillows, but if you're hoping to hide chunky suitcases or big storage boxes, you might be pushing it. For those who want a more minimalist look, the Deacon Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame is also available as a standard non-ottoman bed frame, and honestly that might be the better shout if you know you won't use the storage much.
In our opinion, nothing beats a good night's sleep. Why not make yours even better? For me, the big win here is that the headboard has enough padding to sit up against without feeling like you're leaning on a plank, but I'd still want to see how it holds up long term if you've got kids or pets in the house, light upholstery can mark up quickly.
