There are those that prefer traditional toppers to pillow tops and as such pillow tops can be somewhat divisive. When it comes to making a good mattress a few things must hold true in the support and comfort layers of a mattress, and being priced as keenly as this one, it's going to be important Flaxby get it right. So let's see what they've put together underneath that luxurious mattress cover...

Starting with the support layer and we're working with an impressive 4450 individual pocket springs, including exclusive DNAir pocket springs. This looks to be a combination hybrid between traditional pocket springs and a firm of micro spring layer that will sit above. The benefit of a model like the proposed is that you get more springs, more bounce back and more support. The slight downside to this set up may come in the form of it's weight whereby the more springs you add to the mattress the heavier it becomes. This is compounded by the recommendation to rotate head to toe regularly to help ensure adequate and even settlement of springs and fillings. That said, Flaxby have covered for this eventuality by including quality grips on both sides of the mattress to help make turning a bit easier. Definitely do not be put off by the weight, it's the price you pay for quality.

I was extremely dubious about purchasing this mattress and had been looking at the reviews for a good couple of months before taking the plunge. I went in Dreams several times to lay on it and make sure I wasn't making any bad decisions. It felt like the mattress was just hugging you right back when you laid on it! Good support in the lower back area too as I have a permanent slipped disc and spinal arthritis so I had to be 110% certain I was getting the right mattress. I have now had this mattress for over two months. My patter goes like this: sleep on one side for 7 days, then sleep on the other side. Then rotate the mattress and repeat the first steps. It is quite heavy to rotate but I'm just relieved I have finally found the perfect mattress again after 13 years of agony and going through about 5 different mattresses! There is no dipping as I rotate the mattress regularly - I am only 9st just over so not really big enough to be making the bed dip. I have a mattress protector on the bed, and use medium pillows. I am sleeping like a dream. I now manage to have nights where I sleep right through without waking for the loo or with pain! I no longer wake up with back pain anymore. I really am one happy lady! Would definitely recommend this mattress to others BUT if you are on the larger side, go for a firm it will soften over time, as seen other reviews saying this mattress dips so I guess if your on the heavy side you may or may not have an issue. Have attached pictures of when I first got the mattress compared with 3 months later and as you can see, no dips and looks just as good. I also bought the bed frame from dreams too.

Ok, so I have had this mattress a year or so now and I'm still wishing I hadn't bought it. From the off it sunk where I slept. The label said not to worry as 'it's just the mattress getting to know you'. I have a double mattress but sleep on my own so I tend to sleep in the middle of the mattress. My mattress quickly started to dip in the middle and I was finding this uncomfortable and disappointing, especially as it was very expensive. I left a review saying I wasn't happy and Dreams contacted me. They sent a furniture surveyor who reported that the settlement of the mattress was within their normal range. I have persevered with it but it is so sunken in the middle now that you can literally see it even with the duvet over it. I honestly would not recommend this mattress. If you are at all worried that you will end up with a ditch to sleep in, don't buy it! I was drawn in by the natural fillings and it was comfy in the shop, to lie on for a few minutes. But I probably wouldn't have even tried it if it weren't for Dreams computer 'matching' me to it. Well, what a surprise that two of the mattresses it recommended for me were two of the most expensive in the shop! I feel tricked and I now have aches and pains from sleeping in it. If you don't want to be fleeced for a grand and a half in return for sheer disappointment then don't buy this! And don't fall for their returns guarantee. They will only exchange it for one of the same value, and there is only one other mattress in the shop that costs a similar amount so there is little choice. They do not give refunds in part exchange for something cheaper!

I did a lot of research to find the right mattress. After a lengthy period hunting, I came across this model within the Flaxby range. It has everything that my partner and I were looking for. We had put up with our previous mattress for far too long so we decided to make an investment. We have not been disappointment at all. Considering that this only comes in either a medium/firm or firm, I was surprised at just how comfortable the medium/firm actually is. We sink into it. The pillow top does help. We've only had the mattress a few nights and know that we are getting the best sleep ever as it is a world famous Harrison Spinks. The mattress is a lot taller than our old one, and I was worried that the sheets wouldn't fit as a result and we would have to by king size sheets, but everything fits perfectly. Oh, aches and pains in my neck have vanished. Suffering with pains when you wake up, then do yourself a favour and get a Flaxby. You will not be disappointed. Hand made is BEST made.

For a handmade mattress, this is an amazing mattress, unfortunately it doesn't completely fit my daughter's double bed, it's like it's slightly smaller than a double mattress, it falls slightly shorter in length and width. (By an inch or so). Also, where it has the topper part on it, the mattress protectors and fitted sheets don't fit or sit well on it. This being said, the comfort, well that is great, my daughter can finally sleep well, she suffers with hypermobility and she is finally sleeping without pain in her joints.

Very pleased with my purchase, was sceptical parting with my money especially with only trying it for a short while instore. We were sold on the mattress description and association with Harrison Spinks. The mattress was dispatched within the quoted timeframe and the delivery men were superb. Have been sleeping on the mattress for 3 weeks and have had no issues, its come exactly as described , weve rotated it weekly as per the instructions and can see us being happy for many sleeps ahead.

We tried the memory foam. They did not agree with us at all. Ordered the Flaxby - which you can customise. Not looked back. Firm mattress with a built in topper. I can sit up in bed to read AND have a hot water bottle in winter - you cant do that in a (full-on) memory foam. Slightly more transference of movement in this mattress but we had a king size made of 2 singles which has helped a lot. The mattress has also received the cats seal of approval!

I purchased the 'Flaxby Masters Guild 4450 Pillow Top Mattress' expecting the same comfort and quality Ive enjoyed for over two years with an ex-display model of this mattress - 'Flaxby Nature's Finest 4450 Pillow Top Mattress' (now discontinued). That older one has truly been a dream to sleep on - no issues, no dips, just consistent support. Naturally, I assumed the current version would offer the same. However, after just under a year of use, both sides of the mattress have developed significant dips - even with regular rotation and a mattress protector used since day one. The result? Uneven support, disrupted sleep and persistent back pain. I raised my concerns with Dreams, who sent out a technician. Unfortunately, despite the clear visible dipping, they claimed the mattress was performing as it should. I was told I could pay for a second inspection out of my own pocket, and only if it finds a fault, maybe Id be reimbursed. This feels like a way to deflect responsibility rather than stand by the quality of the product. Im deeply disappointed - not just with the mattress quality, but also with the poor customer service and lack of accountability. For such a premium price, I expected both comfort and support to last longer than a few months. Would not recommend. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere - especially if youre after a mattress that wont let you down (or dip down) over time.

Walked into the Lakeside store to see what was available and in no rush as it was for a spare room still being decorated. Sophie in the store asked if she could help and in hindsight she certainly did. I tried a good many mattresses that she suggested based on the "Test Bed" outcome. The last I tried was noticeably better than the rest. No surprise it was the most expensive but Sophie sent the details to my email and I was away to think about it. Its a spare room after all. Likely gets used once per year! A few weeks went by and a call one evening from Sophie to tell me there was an offer on this matrass. I decided to purchase and went to the store the next day to finalise and pay. I decided that it made sense to put my mattress on the spare bed, its only a couple of years old, and then have the new one on my bed. Smart thinking as it turns out. When the new mattress arrived the delivery guys were first class, helpful, care full and very friendly. I was impressed that they put shoe covers over their shoes and had the thing in place in no time. Since using it for the past 3 weeks I have to say I have slept better than ever before. I look forward to going to bed now. Its the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on by far. So thus far after a few weeks I am very pleased with the entire process and the end outcome. We took several months doing research and trying out mattresses before we finally chose the Flabby 4450 Pillow top mattress. We had initially avoided a pillow top because the most common criticism of these, along with some non pillow top natural fibre mattresses, is that they soon dip and cannot recover as most memory foam products do. We had also avoided the 'rotate only' one sided mattress as our last mattress deteriorated largely due to the cover fabric wearing out, so we thought if we had one that had to be turned over it might last twice as long. So having taken a very long time to decide on our preferred construction etc. we happened to try the Flaxby whilst visiting Dreams to try a completely different mattress and just fell in love with it. We've had it for 3 weeks now and have never slept better. We know that it may dip over time but we are hoping that won't affect our enjoyment of it. We can't comment at this point whether it might be too hot in summer but at the moment it is just right for us, not too soft, not too hard and very supportive. It's also noticeable that the edges are very firmly sprung so if you sit on the bed to put your socks on, you don't slip off as you do on some other mattresses. All round very happy with it so far.

Extremely disappointed and upset. Did the sleep test in store and this mattress came out top choice. It was comfy in store and we bit the bullet despite the high cost. We thought spending more would mean luxury and comfort but instead, I wake up in pain every morning and toss and turn most nights. The mattress was purchased October 2022 and was turned as advised but had to be replaced in 2023 as it had dipped too much and was faulty. We had the care team out 4 times with his trusty string since with the new mattress as we felt this new one had done the same but were told it has not dipped enough to warrant being replaced. We are gutted and sleep deprived. We had to resort to buying a thick mattress topper to try to make it more comfy but sadly, this has not helped. We chose medium upon purchase as the store one was lovely and comfy, however, ours is rock solid and even the guy who came round with his string said it was very hard. I asked him if this would mean it could be marked as faulty and he said no. It has not softened at all over time. We also have found that the king size mattress is not as wide as our king size bed frame, also purchased from dreams several years prior with our previous mattress. I would say between 2-4 smaller.

We chose this mattress as it was one of the selected mattresses in store and it felt comfortable having tried a whole selection in store. It wasnt a cheap mattress so we actually had high expectations. After the first night I didnt sleep well at all, although we said we would persevere as it would improve. Ive never had problems with my back in my life, but after sleeping on this mattress for over two weeks now, I have been waking up with back pains that are getting progressively worse and worse, so much so we have requested a different mattress. The pain radiates from my lower back to my head and shoulders and the mattress is so uncomfortable that I end up with pains in my ribs. I have never known such an expensive mattress to get so uncomfortable and definitely would not recommend buying this at all. It has been literally the worst decision we have made and the experience we have had from Dreams has not helped matters. With customer services debiting our credit card for funds we had not authorised to threatening not delivering our replacement mattress if we do not pay the outstanding amounts when we had paid. After this is resolved I can guarantee I will never purchase from here again.

I purchased this mattress in September 2021 as being fully compatible with the Sleepmotion 400i bed. I was asked by the contractor who assembled my bed why I purchased this mattress as it was not compatible with the Sleepmotion bed. I contacted Harrison Spinks, the manufacturer of this mattress and received the following response: Thank you for sending the photos, we would not recommend one of our mattresses to be raised at the foot end or in the center. We would be able to accommodate a 45% lift at the head end only. I contacted Dreams customer services back in early October with this advise from Harrison Spinks. Dreams promised to investigate. They offered for me to get a different mattress but I like this mattress and I want to know WHY they continue to sell it as fully compatible with the Sleepmotion bed when the manufacturers advise that the mattress is NOT compatible. I have tried for two solid months to get an answer from Dreams and they just ignore my emails. Please do get in touch with Dreams as using the mattress outside of the recommended usage could have an impact on any guarantee as we cannnot cover usage outside of that which we recommend.

My mattress is less than 5 years old, its been uncomfortable for the last 12 months, but dont worry, its just the mattress getting to know you! When I complained, Dreams were quick to get an independent out to check it, the chap was very nice, he had a little tool case where he pulled out a scruffy piece of string/rope, with a tool tied to each end, (very professional) quite frankly he could have been one of Dreams delivery drivers! Anyway, he deemed my mattress fit for purpose for want of a better phrase, Dreams told me I could get another company to check it at my own expense! Not a happy customer, will never shop here again, save your money and go elsewhere. I honestly thought this would probably be our last mattress, I was very sadly mistaken, be aware these mattresses are only guaranteed for 5 years, unbelievable considering the price! Now Im stuck with apothole on each side of the mattress, which weve had to stuff with cushions, were not big people, no more than 22 stones between us! I wish Id bought a cheaper one, good luck!

First of all, I have to say the customer service of Dreams has been absolutely first class. Even though we have already had one exchange, unfortunately we still found our exchanged mattress too firm. It is actually very difficult to deduce if a mattress is suitable just by lying in it for two minutes in a store. In fact, most mattresses would feel softer in store due to the amount of people testing them. Having taken advice from a Dreams advisor, we persevered and persevered, in hope that the mattress would soften over time. In the end, Dreams agreed to a further exchange at an additional cost to us. We tried the Flaxby Nature's Finest 4450 in store, felt good, and given the high price, we had high hopes. Unfortunately, it is a huge disappointment. The mattress topper has already sagged and compacted within days and does not have much 'give'. I have never had back aches like this in my life. We are now waking up every day feeling worse than before we went to bed. For a mattress costing this much, it really is unacceptable.

We purchased the Flaxby Masters Guild 4450 Pillow Top Mattress just over a year ago. For the first 12 months it was excellent, exactly as it felt in the showroom! However, it has now started leaving deep dips where we sleep. This seems to be a common issue, judging by other customer reviews. You then roll into this dip at night making sleeping extremely uncomfortable and the back pain that comes with it. Dreams arranged an inspection, and the technician confirmed a 2cm dip and crunching sounds from the mattress. I was told the dip is within the manufacturers guidelines, but I strongly disagree. The sag is far deeper when you actually lie on the bed, and a string-line test is not an accurate way to measure impressions on a pillow top mattress. For a premium product sold as high quality, the level of deterioration after only a year is unacceptable. Im disappointed that a mattress at this price point performs so poorly over time, and I hope Dreams and the manufacturer reconsider how these issues are assessed.

I purchased this mattress in a 'Soft' double size as was really looking forward to having my mattress delivered. I found that the sides of the mattress were very firm compared to the middle which resulted in a very uneven surface. Unless I slept in the middle, I found my body was always sloping toward the centre. This was very unsatisfactory given the price of this mattress! One of the staff at my local store suggested I had it tested and it was found to have 'settled' too much. That aside, I still think that the 'soft' version has too much variation between the reinforced sides and main body of the mattress so it may be the 'medium' version is a better choice. As the mattress 'topper' on this model also felt very lumpy, I decided not to go for a replacement and chose a different brand instead. I expected so much more from a product in this price range, but I cannot fault the way that Dreams handled the whole situation. I'm happy with the other (less expensive) mattress I chose.

I find buying a mattress a very difficult task because in 2 minutes on the mattress I don't know if I'm going to sleep well for the next 10 years. That's why we decided to buy ours at Dreams, because they are specialists and could give us better advice and they also had 40 trial nights. But it turned out that we were not lucky with the first one we bought and decided on another one, there the saleswoman told us that the value had to be higher than the first mattress and this had to be the definitive one that could not be tried anymore if I get to Knowing this from the beginning, we did not buy the mattress here. So, following the advice of the seller, we bought Flaxby Nature's Finest 4450 K mattress soft. From the beginning we had back pain, but we thought that with time we would get used to it, I am 38 years old and I have never had back problems but the truth is that I wake up exhausted and every morning.

When I lay down on Natures Finest 4450 mattress in the store, I made the immediate decision to buy one as it was so soft and comfortable - even though it was way beyond the ceiling I had decided upon for price. I had high hopes for the wonderful nights sleep I would have, as I have been suffering from insomnia for a long time. So my first night was a great disappointment- as were the subsequent nights until after a week, I returned to the store to voice my concerns. I found the mattress very hard and uncomfortable. The sales person assured me that I was far too early in my judgement and that I should sleep on the mattress for at least a month before taking advantage of the exchange policy that Dreams have. I am very pleased to report that having had the mattress now for a little over two weeks, it has become much softer and I am enjoying a good nights sleep at last.

naming this mattress Natures finest doesn't give it enough credit i have never felt better when i wake up. I always thought i was a miserable non morning person as a personality trait, however since i have been sleeping on this mattress it turns out the last statement was correct but due to never having the right sleep. Since i have been sleeping on this mattress my back pain hasn't just improved its completely gone in just 3 months which i would have described 3 months ago as a miracle. Also to point out that i have never has a cooler sleep and no longer need to kick off the duvet and kick my wife away whilst sleeping. As i sleep on my side mostly I feel it offers superior comfort and pressure relief which i might have expected from something with foam in. well done and Thank you Flaxby and Dreams you have changed my life for the better.

Me & my husband decided to go for this mattress after some awful nights sleeping on memory foam mattresses. I was a little sceptical as I don't like the look of quilted tops and prefer the smooth look of a memory foam (but couldn't get comfortable!) So I agreed to give this a try, the first one did have to go back as one of the handles had been missed off the side when manufactured, but Dreams were great and got this sorted for us. We have now been sleeping on it for several months and I am so pleased with it, very comfortable and don't over heat in it at all, soft but still supportive. This was definitely more than we have ever spent on a mattress before but so far so good! The only thing is I do think it smells of the natural fibres (sheep!) but my husband says that he doesn't smell anything at all, so maybe it is just me!

My purchase was based on the makers credentials ie handmade product using natural materials, free from chemicals and 100% recyclable at the end of the mattresss life. I tried out the firm and medium mattresss in the showroom settling on medium. 1. My first impression was the strong smell emitting from the mattress - this has not dissipated two weeks later despite airing mattress with open windows for the first 24 hrs. 2. The button design of the pillow top, described as tufting, is lumpy and uncomfortable l have not had a restful sleep since purchase. 3. I had not realised just how heavy this mattress is which makes the subsequent advice to rotate at least twice a year, more often in the first year, impossible on my own and massively inconvenient having to ask for help from friends most of whom are elderly like me.

Which came 8 days later after many calls and emails asking for help. So far still waiting for Dreams to remove the mattress from my home, no apology, just demands for me to buy another mattress of the same value, which I do not want. I purchased this purely as it is eco friendly. This has caused me physical illness and emotionally is taking a toll. No duty of care evident. I bought this as it was very comfortable in store. I have a problem with my glutes and hip and agony so thought this was going to help. My husband has MS. Gave it the time to adjust but it was horrendous i then went back to exchange for the soft one to find out I had to pay which was not made clear when I bought even though the assistant said she did if I had known I would never have bought it. I then tried this one and still no good but unfortunately we have had to keep it as I cant afford to keep paying to exchange. So we have paid this amount of money for a mattress which is absolutely horrendous avoid this mattress at all cost. I will never buy from Dreams again they push to sell the expensive ones.

We feel so let down with this bed we brought the bed 6 years ago paying over 2000 pounds for a super king within 1 year maybe less the mattress had body mouldings even though I turned it more than advised I contacted flaxby direct to say it was not fit for purpose and nothing after 6 years it was impossible and very very painful to sleep on didn't even last the 8 years we have paid over 2000 pounds for another smaller bed leaves a bad taste in my mouth really and feel ripped of especially when buying the new bed they checked our old purchase and said sadly you haven't got the 8 year protection on the mattress which we was never offered so brought a new bed sadly there was nothing we could do

Im a reluctant shopper , but this purchase has literally been lifechanging. My previous last two mattresses ( bad choice and then worse one), made me feel me and a comfy night would remain far apart .. till the proper advice and attention I received at the Dreams unit. I was shown patience and attention and as a disabled older women with constant pain I was crabby and disbelieving that a mattress could change that. OH HOW WRONG I WAS its brilliant ! Utterly lovely. We have had this mattress now for around 6 months, it cost over 2000! , without a doubt it is the most uncomfortable mattress we have ever had and by far the most expensive. It is already dipping and feeling lumpy even though we did as advised and rotated the mattress often . Myself and my husband are both now suffering with bad shoulders and backs and I just toss and turn all night because I cant get comfortable . We did not exchange this mattress after the trial period because we had already trialled a tempur mattress previous to this one , so now we are stuck with an expensive excuse for a mattress.

Having decided to spend a lot more than any time in the past on a new mattress as I was not sleeping well or waking up stiff and sore, I was hoping that changing my mattress would result in a miraculous improvement in my sleep comfort and quality. The reality is that I am still getting used to it. The mattress is slightly more comfortable than my last one. I am concerned it may be a bit soft for me and it seems to hold the dip after I have sat up reading before going to sleep. We purchased the soft option of the Flaxby 4450 which was the comfiest mattress we tried in store - I can confirm after two weeks of usage I have never slept better - first morning I woke up with no neck, back or shoulder pain for the first time in years. I had suffered from slight pain in these areas and it just confirms that I have been using inadequate mattresses previously (a very expensive Tempur mattress which I dont rate at all, and my wife grew to dislike over the past couple of years). The Flaxby mattress is superior and worth the cost (how can you put a cost on sleep)

I like Dreams as a store and have found the Customer Service second to none. However, I do feel they have let themselves down with this mattress. Having previously purchased another Flaxby Mattress, I thought I was in good hands with this brand. Time and again, I keep hearing, let the Mattress settle, the fillings need to settle etc, but after just three weeks, my partner & I are in that much pain that we are exchanging and frankly Dreams are fortunate that we are not reporting the Mattress as faulty. My advice would be to stay away from this particular model. Simply awful.

The mattress that we have now had for more than 2 months in no way resembles the comfort of the mattress that we tried in store and re-tried today. Our mattress is firm and the pillow top does nothing to alleviate this. We have had to add a further topper to the bed to make it tolerable. We are exchanging it under the 100 night guarantee - we were told that the 100 night guarantee has no limit on how many times you can exchange the mattress. We have since been told that this is not the case. We have always received excellent help from the staff in the Newbury store.

It's been 3 months since my purchase. I opted for the firm option as I sleep on my belly but may flip to my back. I have experienced no back pain and slept quiet comfortably since. Even though it came much firmer than the one I tried at the store, the pillow top gives it a cushony surface while still feeling dense at the bottom. I am still meant to rotate it but there are no dips. One note is that it does have an initial barn scent due to its natural fibers, so be aware if you are super sensitive. Otherwise, it looks like in magazines and feels just as premium.

We decided to purchase a new mattress from Dreams using their Sleepmatch technology, partly because our existing mattress was very old but mainly because my wife had been suffering badly with sciatica for months and nothing she had tried was improving the problem. Bought this mattress just over a month ago and I am finding it most uncomfortable and am waking up every couple of hours ! It was very hard initially and has now flattened down to a very solid feel and is lumpy and uneven. We visited your Lincoln shop and made use of your machine for predicting which mattress would be best and this mattress was suggested. I have tried looking for a replacement on this site under the '40 day guarantee' but so far cannot find a suitable alternative at a similar price. For this price I would have expected much better.

Having bought a Flaxby mattress from yourselves 8 years ago we really have enjoyed the mattress hence we specifically wanted another Flaxby, whilst the mattress is extremely well made we are finding the mattress that has been delivered to firm, we have tried, since delivery on 29th July to get to enjoy the mattress unfortunately in the middle of the night we have to remove ourselves from the new bed and relocate to our old bed, we will be returning to Hereford next week to look for a replacement mattress, we intend to try the Flaxby soft mattress.

Have chosen firm mattress, after testing a several ones in store (previous mattress I had was medium). Sleeping on it for a first few days was a bit difficult to be honest, as it was brand new, very firm and as the leaflet says- it needed to get to know me, my weight and sleeping patterns. After about a week, mattress has adjusted to my body and sleeping on it started to feel comfortable. Its been a month since purchasing, I can only say that this mattress is well designed and I dont have any issues regarding firmness or sleeping comfort.

My husband and I selected this mattress after trying Sleepmatch in-store, and it was definitely the right choice for us. We were really interested in the UK-sourced natural fillings and recyclable springs, but are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and weighty the mattress is. One night on this mattress and I've got pain between my shoulders and painful ribs. I'm really disappointed because this is the second mattress we've had from dreams that has not felt thr same as in the shops. I've already been to the chiropractor due to the last one so went for soft this time and it's no where near as soft as in the shop and I can't wait for it to decompress when it's causing my muscles to spasm so much. :( Quality fabric and stitching but not cradling like the shop one. Most comfortable mattress Ive ever had, my last one was great but had a memory foam top that used to make me sweat a lot. The wool in this is comfy, supportive and cushioning but doesnt hold heat, it keeps your temperature really even at night. The fact the materials are all natural must have a lot to do with this, I like that its environmentally friendly too. At first it smelled quite strongly of sheep wool, the smell has mostly gone now and I miss it! Made me feel like a shepherd with my own flock counting me to sleep

I spent a long time deciding on a mattress, before choosing the Flaxby 4450. Took a week or so to get used to it, but now, after 4 weeks, it feels more like mine. The main pros areexcellent quality and it offers good support whilst still feeling comfy (I chose Medium). The main cons areits heavy and needs turning every week initially, and even with a mattress protector on, Im sometimes aware of the dips where the tufts are. I have had this mattress for a few months now and honestly wish I hadn't bought it. I felt amazing in the shop but as I've slept on it, an indentation of my body has quite quickly formed. Also, the more I sleep on it, the more dense and firm it feels which is just not comfortable. Also, because it has a pillow top it is not flippable. I wish I had just gone with the 500 1000 spring mattress. I think they suit me better. So if you don't want to feel like you're lying in a dip, don't buy this mattress!

Whilst the mattress is comfortable, it is a lot firmer than I had originally anticipated based on the one in the store. We ordered the medium, and were warned that the mattress would need some time to "relax" when we first receive it. However, I have found the cushioned topper has relaxed insofar as it now seems to have flattened and doesn't offer the same softness that it had done previously. The outside edges also slope outwards, making the bed feel smaller, and needing thicker pillows due to this.

I got my mattress in August 2023, I loved the feel of it in the shop and how it was natural. At first the mattress seemed good (I got medium), but now every single night myself and my partner wake through the night and in the morning with a crippling bad back. We both feel there is no support on the curves of our spine like it's raised up in the air. I wouldn't go for a natural mattress again because it's so lumpy and bumpy. Genuine review, this mattress is brilliant. Every evening and every morning I think, wow. Why did I choose it? I like the fact that it's a sprung mattress (can't be doing with memory foam) but for me it was important that this mattress uses natural materials (especially wool) for the filling. It's a small thing, but sleeping on natural materials rather than oil-based, synthetic, plastic fillings is important. I'd rather sleep on something natural than something derived from oil.

It was fine for the first 6 months, but now we find it more comfortable to sleep on our couch! As other reviewers have observed, it seems like the the mattress has a tendency to sag. In our case it's only about 2-4cm but apparently that's all it takes to cause a painful back. When pushing down it's noticeable that some areas are less springy than others. I was very disappointed with this purchase. The previous mattress I had was cheaper and remained comfortable for 10 years.

We have bought two of these mattresses in the past and have always found them to be extremely comfortable. However this recent purchase has proved to be very disappointing. The smell it exudes is reminiscent of farmyards and whilst we appreciate that natural fibres are used, after two weeks of thorough airing the smell is as bad as ever. I've slept well on this mattress so am generally happy with it. But it does have a noticeable dip where I sleep so I've tried to sleep on different sides of the mattress each night to reduce this. I've also turned it (not flipped it) each week. Maybe this is part of the 'settliing' as I've been using it less than a month. Also, be aware it is a deep mattress so you may need new fitted sheets. It's also a bit of a climb to get into bed but I quite like that.

The mattress is very comfortable and and supports my lower back well. It has the right amount of sinking feeling at the same time as being supportive. The only thing I would say is that the middle zip - where the two sides join - can feel a little like you're being pulled into the middle of the mattress if you get too close to it. If you remain on each side then this doesn't happen and it isn't a major issue. overall i'm happy with the purchase.

Bought this mattress to replace another we had bought 18mths before, which was very uncomfortable. The first night sleeping on our Fixby mattress was just bliss, like sinking into a cloud. Very comfortable pillow top mattress. Slightly firmer than another medium of the same make I have, I think, but mattresses do take a little while to settle in. Deep but not the deepest so easier to find sheets to fit. Love the brand, really high standard. Weve now bought another one of these online from Dreams (after buying our first one instore) for another bedroom- the mattress is so comfy! The firm pillowtop one is a great compromise for us as I like a firm mattress and husband prefers medium- the pillowtop provides the extra softness for him. The most comfortable mattress I have slept on. Despite weight difference, my partner and I find this mattress suits us both. We were surprised that the softest mattress was most comfortable. Normally we go for medium to firm. The edges of the mattress offer great support, which is often lacking in mattresses. It has eased all our aches and pains. Would certainly buy again. I thought this mattress with pillow top would be good for me as I suffer with my hips. Unfortunately it has turned out to be much to hard after using for 1 week the pillow top became flat and provided no support at all. This has affected my sleep I'm getting no rest at all. I have had to get a mattress topper in order to get rest. It is not a cheap mattress but definitely wouldn't recommend.

However, you have to wait a while for it to soften up, the person in the store said 3 months to get to the feel of the one in store. About a month in and still waiting to get to that point. Took delivery of this item on January 12th this year. Should have spent my money on something better than this. I have never been so uncomfortable in my life. Pleased with mattress and finding it very comfortable. The only negatives are that I find it quite warm (my wife is happy with this aspect!) and slightly worried that a visible ridge is forming down the middle of the bed. Glad we did as it dose not jiggle when my husband gets up at night which use to wake me in our old mattress. This is a pillow top mattress which is the same as my previous mattress. This is definitely my favourite type of mattress. The pillow part is slightly softer than the main mattress which makes the whole mattress more comfy. You seem to sink into the pillow top part and then are held by the main part of the mattress. I would definitely recommend this mattress!

This matters is great for hip and shoulder pain. I noticed the difference the next morning, no waking up with aches and numbness. Very different "Feel" compared to our old mattress, so took a week or two to get used to it. But now we are - it's soooooo comfortable! Appears to be well made. We opted for firm and comfort is good. When sampling in store the soft option was a close second but now we are thinking of exercising the 30 day exchange policy after another trial in store. Very comfortable. Spent ages agonising over a few different mattresses, but so far we've been very happy with it. Only negative is that it feels smaller than our old mattress which had no pillow top. The top is smaller than the base, and the base itself is a good cm or 2 smaller than our old one, so it did feel noticeable at first.

This mattress is great for some people but gives me a little bit of lower back pain. It seems to be too soft and too rigid at the same time (which I realise makes no sense). Not entirely uncomfortable, but nothing to write home about. I know other people who sleep on it though and seem to love it! Guess it just depends on your back.
