Meet the SleepyTime Bunk Bed. It's more than just a bed; it's a great option for imaginative play, all leading to a restful night sleep with plenty of comfort. Here's what the SleepyTime Bunk Bed has to offer.
How we tested
As part of our hands-on testing process, we spent considerable time at the store assessing the product. Our tests were designed carefully, keeping in mind all aspects that might impact a buyer's decision. We inspected the construction, the materials used, the finish, and how the bed assembled as per the given instructions. Please note, we did not bring the product home for testing; all product evaluations were performed at the store.
Design and features
The SleepyTime Bunk Bed is an attractive piece of furniture that promises to be a charming addition to your child's bedroom. It comes in two lushly hued finishes, Ivory and Grey, elevating the aesthetics of the room. The bed's design features solid flat slats, promoting air circulation for a well-ventilated sleeping environment. An extra bonus feature is the reversible ladder, a flexible option for easy access according to your room configuration. The underbed storage drawer option is a handy solution for decluttering and organisation needs.
Construction
Upon inspecting the bed, it was discernible that the SleepyTime Bunk Bed was made of relatively inexpensive wood. This might be a concern for some, particularly considering its mid-range price point. However, the bed, with its sturdy construction and durable finish, does hold promise. The curvaceous headboard and footboard lend a touch of contemporary style, creating an inviting nook for restful slumbers.
Suitability
With strict adherence to the UK child safety standards, the SleepyTime Bunk Bed is thoughtfully created, ensuring your child's safety. The solid slats and handles on the ladder offer security and stability, whilst its rounded-off edges provide a safer environment. The bed is suitable for children over the age of 6, and with its five-year guarantee, it ensures a safe and comfortable sleep for years to come.
What customers thought
Sturdiness comes up again and again in the reviews. "These bunks are solid and well made," one owner wrote, and another was "Very impressed with build quality sturdiness." Owners call the assembly instructions easy to follow, though one added that it "does need 2 to do the job". Several bought the bunks for children or grandchildren who love them, and one owner pointed to "plenty of head height between the lower bed and the upper bed". The complaints are specific. One owner wrote that "the bed has a very unpleasant, persistent smell" and had not been able to use it yet. Another was unhappy at first about "delivery getting repeatedly delayed", though happy with the bed once it arrived.
The verdict
The SleepyTime Bunk Bed leaves a mixed impression. Its solid construction, child-friendly design, and the flexibility it offers remains its strength yet, the limited colour options and inexpensive wood used may dampen the overall appeal. The moderately high price tag might pose a stumbling block for some. However, the bed's lasting comfort and the peace of mind offered by its five-year guarantee could tip the scales in its favour. It's a product that warrants a closer look if you're seeking a blend of comfort, style, and storage functionality in your child's sleep space.
