The TEMPUR Arc™ Vectra Upholstered Bed Frame is trying to pull off that mix of engineering, design, and sheer luxury. With an exorbitant price tag that leaves you second-guessing at first glance, it attempts to justify this with its colour choices, sturdy build, customisability and a dependable ten-year guarantee. Throughout this review, I will keep coming back to the cost of this product, as it's an unavoidable factor to consider when looking at this bed frame.
How we tested
Our evaluation was held in-store, enabling an in-person appreciation of both the aesthetics and comfort of the bed. This hands-on approach allowed for initial impressions, structural assessments, and a quick lie-down test. Bear in mind, a home trial was not conducted.
Design and Features
As soon as you set your eyes on the Vectra, its impressive design stands out. The curved, contemporary headboard - a nod to TEMPUR's affiliations with NASA - complements the base that subtly carries a set of comfort discs. It comes in a range of lush colours, velvet, woven, and PU fabric options provide scope for personalisation. Then comes the feet options, five different styles to match your bedroom aesthetics and to top it off - a ten-year guarantee seemingly whispering 'long-term peace of mind'. But let's not forget, the price tag follows you every step, heavy and undeniable.
Construction
The Vectra isn't just a seductive show pony; its functionality matches its exceptional aesthetics. At its heart is a clever disc base, flexing and adjusting to your weight and movement. Strategically placed openings between the discs encourage airflow and better mattress ventilation, improving sleep comfort. Its modifiable setting allows for softer or firmer zones depending upon your preference. The carefully chosen construction of this bed frame aims to justify the steep price, but is it enough to outweigh cost considerations?
Suitability
The luxe fabrics, the personalisation, the unique disc base - all these contribute to a universal appeal. Whether you are a purveyor of style, comfort, or both, Vectra ticks those boxes. With 150cm and 180cm size options, it caters to different room sizes too. But does this high degree of suitability compensate for the jarring price tag? Only you, the buyer, can weigh these pros against the significant cost con.
The verdict
The TEMPUR Arc™ Vectra Upholstered Bed Frame brings a mix of style, comfort, and customisation, backed by a trustworthy guarantee. Impressive in its design and rich in its feature offerings, it shows promise of being a centrepiece in any sleep space. However, whether the steep price is justified by its features is a question that echoes persistently. Despite its compelling characteristics, the substantial investment this bed frame demands is both serious and inescapable. Thus, the ultimate appeal of the Vectra remains subjective - heavily influenced by one's budget and the weight placed on the luxury it offers.
