Hip Hop Wooden Bed Frame

"I bought the king size of this bed frame back in September 2007 (it's now October 2016)and it's still going strong! In fact, I'm leaving this review because until I read Ben's review about his peeling veneers I didn't even think the finish could be veneer. My frame has certainly stood the test of time and it still looks like solid wood! I'm surprised too that his mattress hangs over the edge - perhaps it was one he bought from a Swedish vendor which are slightly different sizes. I say this because, as Simon commented, there is a very slight gap between the edge of the mattress and the inside of the wooden frame. Certainly no overhang! My parents also bought the same bed frame (independently - without any promotion from me) and they have had theirs for a good six years now. The only thing I would highlight is it helps to place rubber pads under each foot if you have wooden floors as this stops the frame from moving. After nine years every now and again I have to tap the side of the headboard to push the dowels back into place - but less frequently with the pads in place. You can buy them online cheaply."

"In order to be fair, I should point out the positives. The Hip Hop bed frame is attractive and provides a comfortable nights sleep. I should also say that it represents good value for money - albeit with a caveat. My main concern is in its construction, which although it appears solid, may give rise to problems. Whilst I have owned this bed frame for four years or so, it has always been slightly creaky. Having recently moved house, I noted that one of the nuts and bolts that hold the frame together was loose. This later caused the bed to collapse when I sat down on it! I discovered that this was as a consequence of the self tapping nut/bolt being pulled from the frame. I attempted to screw the nut back in, but once the wood has been stripped the problem reoccurs. This left me with a bed frame that potentially may need to be thrown away. In short, the frame represents good value over the time that I have owned it, but rather short lived by other standards."

"Purchased this bed for my 9 year old son & I am absolutely disgusted with the service from Bensons Beds. The hip hop bedstead was faulty on arrival & really bad workmanship. Bensons Beds arranged for a replacement & again the bed was faulty. I have now asked for a full refund & have been offered no compensation for the inconvenience of waiting for deliveries & cost of phone calls & still having to wait a 3rd time for the bed to be collected & then go into the shop for a full refund. As a result I will never shop with Bensons beds again. Really disappointed & horrendous customer experience journey. "

"We bought the double frame to replace a divan base and I absolutely love it! Very well made; no wobbling and everything lines up perfectly. There are 'hidden' legs down the centre of the bed for extra sturdiness and it was easy to put together for two people. It looks fantastic and goes really well with our current (mismatched) wooden furniture. Not only does this bed look lovely, but the nice curved edges mean no bruises if you accidentally walk into the corner in the dark! I would definately recommend this frame."

Bought as a spare bed for a new house but we have been using as our bed has been delayed. My husband put together, took about an hour as lots of pieces but looks really good. Solid and sturdy looks very smart and minimalist and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend as good value.

Shocking customer service. Which was expected due to my experience buying the mattress. my bed frame was delivered without the lats so Im unable to rate the comfort as my matress is still on the floor several months later. Would not recommend this company to anyone!

The bed frame is string, well made and easy to assemble and was excellent value in the sale. People should note it is quite long as the head and foot boards are thick. The diagram on the web site is incorrect as dimension C should be D and C a bad E are not given.

Such a good quality bed, we are so happy with it! Heavy/sturdy enough and assembling was quite easy. Love how the slats click in individually so you dont have to worry about them falling through like some beds Ive bought in the past!

Our fist offering was very second hand and we had to have it replaced. The replacement was a lot better but still had a small dent in the headboard. Pity; as it's lovely stuff and fundamentally well engineered.

This bed is simple to put together & is very comfortable & sturdy. This is the 2nd one I have bought for my house, Ive had the other one for 7yrs & still looks great & has never shown any signs of weekness

Bought this for my son; who is a sturdy lad. He finds it very comfy; with an ikea sultan mattress on it. Very solid; strong; looks nice; easily put together.Thinking of getting the double for myself.

When I got this delivered the box was damaged when I was building it up the wood frame was damaged in 2 places wasnt very chuffed with it being damaged for the amount of money I paid for this
