Children's interior décor has come a long way from the once stereotypical cartoon-themed blues and pinks, making room for more stylish and sophisticated options. Among these elegant choices is the gorgeous Callie Kids Velvet-Finish Hotel Bed Frame. Sporting a premium soft light grey velvet finish, this bed has a hyper-chic, hotel-style glamour that promises to enrich your little one's bedroom environment, proudly signalling their transition to their first 'grown-up' bed.
How We Tested
We put the Callie Kids Velvet-Finish Hotel Bed Frame through extensive testing. Our rigorous approach involved analysing the design, considering its construction, understanding its suitability for various ages, and collecting feedback from customers. The testing was conducted in-store and therefore does not include personal at-home experience, however, we have strived to create an impartial and thorough review.
Design and Features
Sporting a broad headboard and a soft curved design, the Callie Hotel Bed is set to bring pizazz and jazz to your kids' bedroom. The soft grey velvet finish adds a touch of sophistication, making it suitable for older children and even teenagers. What sets this bed apart is its low-rise design, which is perfect for younger children. It integrates two drawers for added storage which let your little ones keep their treasures close, thereby equating to a cleaner, more organised bedroom. The inclusion of sprung slats adds firm support, taking care of the mattress. Impressively, the bed is compatible with a UK standard single mattress - making the switch hassle-free.
Construction
The attention to detail in the construction of the Callie Velvet-Finish Hotel Bed Frame, with its sprung slatted base, is evident in its firm and sturdy build. It ensures that the mattress is well supported, improving its longevity while improving the user's comfort. Worth noting is that this hotel-style kids' bed comes with a one-year guarantee, offering peace of mind on your purchase.
Suitability
In terms of suitability, the Callie Kids bed is ideal for children aged four and above. The sophisticated design, velvet finish and comfortable construction make it perfect as a first 'grown-up' bed for little ones. However, it's also adaptable enough to fit in an older child's or teenager's décor scheme.
The Verdict
Our extensive in-store testing leads us to a favourable judgement for the Callie Kids Velvet-Finish Hotel Bed Frame. The chic design, coupled with the practical storage option, sang froid finish and a comfortable base make this piece a standout selection for young children as well as teenagers. While the assembly cost may appear high for some, and the velvet finish requires continual upkeep to maintain its luxe appeal, the benefits comfortably outweigh the drawbacks. If you're looking for a stylish, refined and practical bed for your child's bedroom, this bed comes recommended.
Disclaimer
While the product does come with its pros like stylish design, effective storage and durability, it's important to consider a few downsides. Assembly can require additional professional setup at extra cost, and the velvet finish may attract more dust, necessitating regular care. The bed's price tag may also extend beyond some budgets for a child's bed, and the lead time for delivery can take up to six weeks. The product also comes in limited colour options, which may limit its suitability for some bedroom decors.
