A medium tension mattress like this is the goldilocks of mattress tensions. Not too soft, nor too firm, medium is typically suitable for the vast majority of people that are looking for a good nights sleep. If you are of average build without back or neck problems, this should be a suitable product. If you are of lower BMI and a side sleeper, consider a softer mattress, whereas if you are of a higher BMI and suffer neck and back pain, consider a firmer tension.

The benefits of a double sided mattress are that you get twice the surface area of comfort layers. The real-world practicality of this means that you flip the mattress as well as rotate allowing for better settlement of fillings which increases longevity, while reducing the chance of dipping or spring problems that may otherwise occur. Ultimately the mattress will likely last longer and remain comfortable for a greater duration.

Pocket springs are like natures own springy piece of comfort, except they are not from nature. Alas, pocket springs are a very good part of a mattress and often found in the more premium models. Lower quality products will frequently use open coil spring setups, where pocket springs house each spring in a tiny pocket for additional stability and continued support. Pocket spring typically lasts longer than open coil due to this.

Typically, the more springs the better. The average mattress has around 1000 springs and so anything more than that is considered good. The firmness/tension of a mattress is also not dictated by the amount of springs and so you do not need to worry about the firmness being unsuitable when it comes to spring count. Simply the more springs, the better the mattress can contour to your body. 1400 springs is considered good.

Natural materials like wool, cashmere and silk are often used in higher quality mattresses. Their benefits are numerous with many preferring the supreme softness on offer while others appreciate the environmentally friendly offering. Another core benefit of natural layers is that they are extremely breathable and as a result create a safe, hygienic and temperature regulated nights sleep.

Hand Tufting is a labor intensive process that involves securing the fittings to a mattress rather than having them operate independently and loose within. This small act not only secures, but also leads to the mattress lasting longer and feeling firmer. A hand-tufted mattress is great for anyone looking for additional stability while they sleep.

A 25cm mattress is a good depth for a product of quality. Plenty of room for some good quality springs and enough space for a good top layer of comfort. This side of product should just about fit a standard sheet but do not be surprised if you find you do need to upgrade to a deeper fill sheet to fit over the mattress.

Oh turning handles are pointless I hear you say. Just try flipping and turning this product without handles. It can be a pain. Remember that mattresses should be both rotated and flipped frequently, not a problem if you are opting for a single, but those doubles and kings can get heavy. Handles are very good.

When you sleep you also sweat, when this happens it generally leaks into the mattress. Sounds a little gross but that is the way it works, no drama however as matresses are built to be breathable and air out any moisture buildup, the addition of air vents helps ensure this happens with peak efficiency

A Medium firmness mattress is the most common build offered due to the range of suitability offered in such a mattress. This type of mattress will be better suited toward averagely weighted people, while lighter people should opt for a medium-light, and heavier people considering a medium-firm.

Damask is a fabric, woven in nature that is often used to upholster mattresses. It is typically made from linen or cotton and can typically be woven into delivate detailings required by the supplier. The fabrics are typically fairly hard wearing and should not cause problems

Handcrafted in the UK means that the product is built here, by people being paid a fair and honest wage using certified and safe products of good quality and construction. UK manufacturing is some of th best in the world and all of that is reflected in this product

A domestic mattress would normally have a level 1 (low-hazard) fire resistance but this mattress goes the extra mile with a level 5 (medium hazard). This is the level of resistance normally used in higher-risk places such as hotels and hospitals.

The NBF is one of the most prestigious awarding federations in the industry, helped slightly by the fact that it is one of the only, however, it is still a great source of comfort knowing that this product holds approval by the team

Double sided just means that the product can be flipped and still retain the same level of comfort. The fillings and dibres inside the product are capable of operating in any direction. Handy for settlement and to prevent dipping.

Luxury wool, typically found in mattresses in a shredded and felted capacity is an upholstery fibre often used as a top comfort layer, but sometimes found further down in those mattress layers as part of the support structure

Fire resistant does not mean the product will never catch fire, rather, it will not go up in flames quite so quickly. Resistant to fire in the same way that I am resistant to kisses, sooner or later you end up giving in.

Most experts recommend a minimum 10 inches, 4 inches on the top layer and 6 inches for the core so this size is an ideal balance of size and performance. Generally, the heavier the load the deeper the mattress should be.

Perfect for establishments seeking durability and comfort, it caters well to high-traffic areas. Its suitable design enhances the longevity and restful experience for guests, aligning with commercial standards.

By standard, mattresses are made in generic sizes from single through to super king. If however, you have a bespoke space, perhaps a caravan or ikea sized base, you may require something more bespoke.

These are made and manufactured in the UK, meaning that they all meet the same exceptional quality and durability that we expect from genuine UK manufacturing.

25cm depth is about average for a mattress, it leaves plenty of room for good quality fillings while still allowing you to fit a standard sheet over it.

A 5 year guarantee is a great indicator of the retailer believing in their product. Anything go wrong in the next 5 years, no drama, get it replaced.
