The Jay-Be Graffiti Art Deep e-Pocket Mattress is a pocket-sprung children's mattress with a printed graffiti cover, and at 16cm it's the deeper of the two Graffiti Art e-Pocket models. It's made for Bensons' bunk beds, and on a bunk that takes 16cm it's a good choice. For a single bed your child sleeps in every night, I'd buy something with more inside it, and I'd avoid it for an older or heavier child.
One layer of pocket springs, made a little deeper
Inside is a Deep e-Pocket core, a single layer of pocket springs, under fibre comfort layers and a soft knitted cover with the graffiti print. There's no foam, the feel is rated Medium and it has one sleeping side. Jay-Be puts the extra 2cm over the standard Graffiti Art e-Pocket into a deeper spring core.
Pocket springs are the right choice for your child, because each spring moves on its own and a dip is less likely to form where they always sleep. Still, a 16cm mattress has much less in it than the 20cm Dual Support models, and one owner can feel the springs when pressing on the top. The children who've slept on it call it comfortable.
On a bunk, the depth line comes first
Find the maximum mattress depth on your bunk before anything else; it's usually printed on a label or marked on the frame. The mattress must sit below that line so the guard rail is still high enough to stop a child rolling out. If your top bunk takes 16cm, this fits. If it's marked lower, buy the 14cm version, and never add a topper up there.
Liked by children, with one length complaint to act on
Owners mostly like it, and one parent says the graffiti pattern was what persuaded their youngest into a first bed, which counts for something with a reluctant sleeper. The complaint to take seriously is length: an owner reports it measuring short of a standard single, the same problem owners raise across Jay-Be's children's range. Measure it once it has expanded, and return it if there's a gap. Some low ratings are about bed frames that hadn't arrived, which tells you nothing about the mattress.
What to buy instead
For a lower bunk or a single bed with no depth limit, the Jay-Be Dual Support e-Pocket gives a child two layers of pocket springs at 20cm, and I'd choose it over this for everyday use. For a top bunk marked below 16cm, the Graffiti Art e-Pocket is the one. Skip the e-Sprung version of Graffiti Art, which uses an open coil.
