Tests & Verdict

Here we collect tests, guides and product reviews so that you can create a picture of what others think about the product. This analysis and review is based on my experience and 12+ years of industry insight.

Rolled design is particularly convenient for getting up stairs.

Memory foam is a good quality layer in particular demand.

Price point is very low given the material cost and demand for foam in the past few years.

Medium tension with additional sinkage thanks to memory foam might prove a little bit soft for heavier people and those who are dedicated back sleepers.

Still a fairly new model so reviews are yet to filter through at time of writing.

Why our sleep experts loved it

Are you tired of the traditional mattress shopping experience and want something more convenient and hassle-free? Look no further than the Dreams Robinson Rolled Mattress from Dreams. As one of the faster delivery products in the retailer's inventory this product can be ideally suited to those who need it in a hurry, but it's also rolled up for convenience, making it easy to manoeuvre around tight spaces and transport to your bedroom. Plus, it comes with a 40-Night Sleep Guarantee and a 1-year guarantee, so you can rest easy knowing you're making a sound investment that can be swapped out should it not suit your needs perfectly.

The Robinson Rolled Mattress is a medium tension mattress, which means it offers the perfect balance of support and comfort for a wide range of people and sleeping positions. This means that the mattress is perfect for those who want the best of both worlds, with a medium comfort grade regardless of whether you sleep on your back or your side. There are limitations to this philosophy however, with heavier people potentially benefiting from a slightly firmer feel. Additionally, the memory foam comfort layer conforms to the contours of your body, providing a personalised level of support and pressure relief that pairs well with the reflex foam beneath.

Rolled mattresses like the Robinson Mattress, have a number of benefits that make them a great choice for those looking for a more convenient and cost-effective option. They're easy to move around before unrolling, making it perfect for those who have tight spaces or have trouble manoeuvring a traditional mattress. They're also easy to set up, simply unpack and roll out the mattress, leave it to expand and regain its shape, and then enjoy! Additionally, rolled mattresses are often more affordable than traditional mattresses, making them a cost-effective option.

The product also features a deep layer of fairly premium memory foam, a top layer profiled for comfort which is designed to conform to your body's shape and provide targeted support where you need it most. This layer of memory foam provides a perfect balance of support and comfort, which ensures you wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. There are downsides to memory foam in certain circumstances that you should consider however, as the foam tends to be quite warming with poorer air circulation than competing models with different comfort layers. The results of this can mean that you sleep slightly warmer which might be a problem for those who already get too hot at night. For those who sleep colder or neutral however, this foam layer can be a blessing as it is one of the more affordable and comfortable options available in this type of configuration.

Suitability

*Assuming average weight, suitability will vary dependant on body type, use the quiz above for a more tailored guide.
  • Back Sleepers
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • The amount of support offered from a mattress will vary depending on the firmness of the tension and the type of support layer used. Based on a person of average build.
  • Side Sleepers
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • If you sleep on your side you typically need a supportive tension that is not too firm, nor too soft. This is because your hips and shoulders need adequate sinkage.
  • Stomach Sleepers
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • Stomach sleepers need a reasonable amount of tension in the base support layer to adequately offer body contouring and help prevent aches and pains. Results will vary based on your build.

Performance

  • Breathability
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • Mattresses that feature breathable materials help promote airflow and keep you cool making for a more hygienic night's sleep.
  • Turning on mattress
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • Certain materials like memory foam can make it difficult to move about on the mattress while you toss and turn. Same too for pillow tops which can create a cloud like sensation which can make manoeuvrability challenging.
  • Stability
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • Depending on the type of support layer in place can have an impact on stability, edge to edge support and roll together prevention. Pocket springs of a firmer tension will have better stability than open coil soft tension, for example.

Odour

  • Initial Odour
    ★★★★★
    ★★★★★
  • Materials in mattresses, particularly memory foam and rolled bed-in-a-box mattresses can have an initial odour, this is typically short term and reduces considerably within 24 hours.

When my partner and I entered the store at Meteor Retail Park, Derby we were met by Nina. Nina was very helpful, polite and informative, she really helped us make the correct choice of bed for us after we explained what we wanted. When we received our bed there was a slight mark on the mattress so immediately I informed Customer Services and the mattress was exchanged in four days. The Customer Service Department were really great with no awkward questions about replacement. The delivery Guys were all great and even wore overshoes before entering my property which is another plus for Dreams.

I haven't slept this well since I was a kid. I purchased the mattress because of medical problems, trying a few in store before buying online. It turned up on time, the delivery driver was polite and very helpful and reassured me about any possible returns due to the mattress being wrong or faulty. I would, and do, recommend Dreams to everyone.

All I can say about this mattress is "Amazing" .. I got this in the sale when I had a little budget to work with and was even given some pillows I'm 6.3 and 18 stone so was looking for a firm mattress and this certainly is spot on for a memory foam mattress well worth the price.

This mattress is comfortable and of good quality. I let it take it's shape for a few hours and then it was good to go. It fits the bedframe well and does not move around. Adapts to the shape of your body and perfect if you like a medium mattress.

So comfortable, moulds to make you comfortable throughout the night, nice soft top cover. Only thing I would change is to make it deeper as it feels quite low.
