Being a back sleeper, I was initially intrigued by the TheraPur ActiGel® Glacier 1600 Mattress. The firm comfort grade seemed promising, as it's generally recommended for those who sleep on their backs. The mattress's exclusive ActiGel zoned and profiled foam caught my attention, promising both comfort and support. The cooling properties of the mattress were also appealing, as I tend to sleep hot.

Upon trying the mattress, I found the firmness to be quite suitable for my back sleeping position. The pocket springs provided a good level of support, and I didn't feel any discomfort or pressure points. The ActiGel foam was indeed comfortable, and I appreciated the cooling effect it had. However, I did notice that the mattress was a bit firmer than I expected. This wasn't necessarily a negative point, but something to keep in mind for those who prefer a softer feel. I recently took my 79yr Dad to Cheltenham Dreams to buy his first brand new bed. He did know he wanted a very firm mattress but apart from that he didnt have a idea of what was a good bed to buy. I have to say, Im not sure if the cool touch thing works but nevertheless, this is the softest and most comfy mattress Ive ever had. I feel like I wake up enveloped in a hug every morning. Its very hard to leave bed in the morning. Service from Dreams has been amazing. Delivery guys were expert and turned up earlier than delivery slot.

Ive had the TheraPur ActiGel Glacier 1800 for about 2 weeks now, and its honestly transformed my sleep. It strikes a really nice balance, firm enough to support my back, but still comfortable and cushioned thanks to the gel layer. I tend to overheat at night, so the cooling tech was a big selling point for me, and it actually works. The mattress stays noticeably cooler than others Ive tried, and Im no longer waking up sweaty at 3am. It also does a great job at keeping movement isolated. My partner's tossing and turning doesnt disturb me like it used to. Its on the heavier side, so rotating it isnt the easiest job, but it feels really well made and solid. Overall, Im really happy with it. If youre looking for something supportive, breathable, and genuinely comfortable, this is a great choice.

My fianc and I recently paid a visit to the Inverness store to just have a look We ended up on the mattress machine for a personal body scan to see what would be best suited to us both. It was absolutely amazing and the results were incredible. The mattresses it suggested to be best suited to us was 100% spot on. We ended up choosing the one we bought that day and we could not be more content! Its so comfortable and cool, its better than we could have hoped for. When looking for a new mattress, based on previous purchases, we knew that we wanted a Firm or Ultra Firm one. We tried out a number in the store and this one felt the most comfortable by far. We've now had the mattress for over 2 months and are happy with our choice. It's slightly firmer than we are used to, but it feels comfortable and we are expecting it to become less firm over time. The main thing we don't like about it is the weight - it is really heavy and we struggled to get it up the stairs. If you are elderly or infirm then we would definitely recommend paying extra for the Dream installation service. We also though that the mattress was quite expensive, but that's a reflection of the overall price rises these days.

Much better than my old mattress but I wanted to exchange it for a firmer one as it's still not quite right for me. I'm not going to bother trying to do so as I checked the underside and there is a bit of damage to the material and I can feel a spring poking at it. While this may have been caused when it was being turned (which is what Dreams would likely claim) I strongly recommend anyone purchasing a mattress to insist to the delivery men to let you check the underside for damage before they place it on your bed base. Also, if you're going to give people 100 nights trial you shouldn't be asking their opinion before that time is up - such is the global obsession with customer feedback!

This is a very comfortable mattress and you can tell that it's very good quaility. A few weeks in and we are sleeping so much better than before. The super kingsize means that we have loads of room for moving around and don't bump into each other. Quilt stealing is still an issue but I end up with most of it, a lot more than when we had a kingsize. Can't cure that with any size of bed :) The only note is that the size of it means that there is a slightly raised bit in the middle where there is no weight during the night but the care guide does mention that. No solution to that apart from to get someone to sleep in the middle which I don't think my girlfirend would appreciate.

We love our new mattress which is very comfortable. We have a 100 night sleep guarantee in case we don't get on with it, but so far very happy. We visited the Dreams store to find out the right mattress for us. It was easy to order online, we got a good deal on price and the communication on delivery was excellent. The delivery staff rang an hour before to give arrival time. They were on time, very polite, in smart uniform and wore over shoes before entering our home. They unwrapped mattress and took away all packaging. One of them talked us through the care of the mattress and the whole process was about 20 mins. I tried the Simba mattress before this but just too soft for me. We were seeking a firm (not rock solid) but not sink in. This with the inbuilt comfort top is perfect. The other thing for me is that I cannot use any mattress that has that tufting divit top to is as I can always feel these so it is great to find a modern, good quality mattress that doesn't have this. The actigel layer isn't particularly cooling to me but it doesn't heat up like the memory foam mattresses do so to my mind behaves like an old school mattress. All in All we have found our mattress.

We purchased this mattress for my Daughter for her first flat. She is autistic and staff in the store were super patient and helpful. We used the sleep machine first and then tried all the recommendations numerous times. This one had a cooling gel which was great as my Daughter is always hot. It is fairly firm with just the right amount of support and softness to it . My Daughter has found it to be really comfortable and although it was perhaps a little more than we originally intended to spend it has been worth the investment and is a quality mattress.

Went in to Dreams Stockport to look for a new mattress. Nice that we were asked if we needed anything and then was left to it. We picked a mattress and headed to Gabriel. Lovely man who was more than happy to help us with our million questions. Mattress was delivered on the day we asked and put into the room we requested. Me and my partner were looking for a long-lasting, supportive mattress and decided to go for this mattress in firm. We both struggled with back pain beforehand but this has alleviated it and provides the best support throughout the night. After Testing a couple, the minute I laid down on this mattress instore, there was the instant 'ah'. And it definitely hasn't disappointed, the mattress was delivered 2 weeks ago and I have noticed a significant increase in my sleep quality. This mattress has done us a right treat and me and my partner are very impressed by it, the gel keeps us both cool during sleeping hours as we are both warm blooded creatures so something simple like this gel does help alot. I'd say sometimes sad on the side of the mattress while getting dressed does feel a bit squishy so I'd reframe from doing that if you want your mattress to maintain good shape. Perhaps mattress companies could slightly reinforce the sides of mattress for this specific purpose?

Gel is a gimmick but the mattress support is good. After you put a cotton mattress protector then a sheet in it you cant feel any of the cool affect and we sweat just the same. You have to use cotton not polyester protective cover but 2 layers is too much and who is going to use a mattress without a mattress protector. Dont waste your money with the gel products but I still like the support of the mattress we just could have got the none gel ones cheaper

Great help in store, brilliant delivery. BUT quality of 1st mattress had water stains on, replaced no problem, 2nd one had very bad stitching (loose and unfinished) also had a hole on top material. Complaint made re terrible quality. A promise to double check 3rd one before delivery was last chance before a refund would be required. At last!! Good mattress and enjoying a good night's sleep. Maybe this mattress needs to be quality controlled better.

Firm and comfy. At first everything about this product screamed hype. But after my initial 3 weeks I've been proven wrong. It's been great. Comfy and the firmness is perfect. I sleep better for sure. The cool touch is wonderful and never knew I'd ever need this. I don't think I can sleep without gel anymore. The edge support is decent. But the springs as a whole do a great job. Was well overdue a new mattress and having spent hours in the shop this was by far the most comfortable one we tried. We required firm mattress and having now had this for over a month every night has been a comfortable one. This has a firm feel to it all round and when the other person in the beds moves there is no disturbance felt by the other person. Having had our previous mattress for over 10 years we really didn't know where to start! Dreams made it a hassle free experience. Their staff and "Sleepmatch" system helped us to find what we needed and within our budget. They also arranged for the delivery team to take our old mattress away. Seriously comfortable! I needed firm, the firmer the better, and this is what I have. The gel is strange at first but once used to it it's lovely. Helping to stop the bed being too warm initially. The Therapur Actigel Glacier 1600 mattress purchased has proved to be very comfortable since we purchased it. However we have seen little evidence that it is a cooler mattress and still get very warm at night. This mattress is extremely comfortable. I went with a very firm, and it is firm, but does not feel like I am sleeping on concrete. I have not felt or heard a spring since getting the mattress. From a cooling aspect, it is some kind of magic. I normal run hot when sleeping and since the mattress arrived, I have remained cool while sleeping, not waking up with any kind of sweat.

The staff at Wimbledon were lovely, courteous and patient. I tried out a bed that analyses the positioning of your body and was given a list to try out. I chose Cool Gel as I always have fans on at night time. This mattress brings down the temperature in the body. I have slept well throughout the night. This mattress is quite firm but very comfortable. It feels lovely and cool to the touch but with a sheet and mattress protector on it doesnt feel any different to a regular mattress. This may be due to the thickness of my mattress protector though. I do feel Im not getting as hot as with previous bed but it also hasnt been that warm weather wise yet.

Really comfy but be prepared for a firm mattress if this is not your thing maybe not for you but absolutely perfect for us. Does take a while to air out the new foam smell but vent well and dont forget to turn round weekly as will sink if not. Having a wife that likes to move around a lot, having a firm stable mattress is great. Still getting used to the firmness (though I do prefer a firm mattress). Will see how it performs in hotter weather - the top layer does seem to hug you somewhat and might limit your ability to stat cool. Time will tell.

As I expected after choosing it in store, though slightly firmer as not ex display. It needs frequent rotation for the first few weeks, and that is when I discovered the only flaw. Handles on both sides is great, but one on the end to help with the movement would make such a difference when doing it alone.

As with most mattresses it took a few nights to adjust. A testament to how out of whack my back was, the first night was actually uncomfortable. However, several weeks in now and I'm sleeping so well and hardly moving about or waking up at all. Very supportive and generally a great night sleep.

At first, I found the mattress far too hard (my wife loved it straight away!), but we put the mattress toppers from our old bed on it, and now it's perfect! Good support with a soft top!! It is actually a bit too heavy for my wife and me to turn it, so we'll have to do it when our son is here!

Best mattress I've ever bought - it might seem expensive (over a 1000) but you cant put a price on your health and as soon as i tried it in the showroom I knew its the right one. No other option felt right for my back, its been a month since and I'm very happy and enjoy a great nights sleep

This mattress is very firm, but it is really comfortable and keeps you cool. It was reasonably priced, not cheap, but not expensive. The store had a huge choice of mattresses to suit everyone. My only disappointment, was that i didnt see the singing mattress. I would use the store again.

Went in store to do a mattress test and chose this one. Delivered brilliantly and on time and the mattress itself is so comfortable, ive been sleeping so well since it arrived. It does need turning weekly for the forst three mothhs, so bear that in mind, but ive had no trouble doing this.

Absolutely love this mattress. Im a side sleeper and i dont get sore hips like i do on other mattresses. I bought it in store and it was super easy to order. A competing company gave me a 4-6 week window for delivery for a new mattress, but this was delivered within a week.

Easy delivery. Nice firm mattress, but the memory foam layer gives that slight cushioning. I haven't found it too hot either - as a menopausal woman that's important. My back is much happier. Can't yet comment on the longevity of it though, as I've only had it a few weeks.

I have a therapur mattress. The bottom sheet slides off the mattress protector. You then advised a Tempur protector which I bought but it says that its waterproof. If its waterproof, how does that affect the cooling gel and moisture dispersal system?
