Envelop yourself in absolute luxury with the TEMPUR® Linford Sleepmotion Adjustable Upholstered Bed Frame. It's the kind of bed you'd look forward to getting into after a long day, not only for its comfort but also for its generous integration of modern tech and clever features. As I lay upon its gently curved, winged headboard, ensconced in soft-touch textured upholstery at the TEMPUR® store, I noted the bed's grand statement without sacrificing an ounce of its lush comfort. Here's my take on it.
Design and Features
The TEMPUR® Linford Sleepmotion Adjustable Upholstered Bed Frame in all its glory is quite the spectacle. The statement winged headboard with a gentle curve showcases a sophisticated and tasteful approach by TEMPUR® to home decor, balancing both aesthetics and functionality. In my opinion, the soft-touch textured upholstery exhibits a clear focus on opulence, coupled with a choice of chic colours and light oak wooden feet that fit in with most interior decor.
USB-C and USB-A charging points located on both sides of the headboard bring a unique blend of convenience and contemporary design to the sleeping environment. You can charge your devices overnight without having to leave your comfortable cocoon. It's a thoughtful addition. Ports date faster than beds, but for now they serve their purpose efficiently.
Construction
One cannot simply overlook the ingenious construction of this bed. The Linford bed with its inbuilt Sleepmotion bases truly sets it apart from standard slatted frames. The Sleepmotion 200i, 400i and 200 u&i bases offer a degree of adjustability for both back and feet, Zero Gravity technology, and even massage units to varying extents depending on the specific model.
However, the product options can be a tad confusing, especially when it comes to the u&i sizes needing two mattresses to allow independent movement on either side. For those choosing this option, it's essential to factor in the additional costs. These bases replace the standard slat option too, which rules it out if you want a plain slatted bed.
Suitability
In terms of suitability, the TEMPUR® Linford Sleepmotion Adjustable Upholstered Bed Frame caters to a wide range of sleepers. It functions as an adjustable comfort hub for readers, loungers, and sleepers, all whilst promising a calm vibe. However, the visible gap between the base and mattress when in use is something I found slightly disconcerting, and it spoils the look. Also, the choice of leg colour and style is limited, so if you want a particular finish, look elsewhere.
What Customers Thought
Owners talk most about how comfortable it is and how easy it is to adjust. "So easy to use - just press the button until you reach the height you want, then go to sleep", one owner wrote. The USB charging in the headboard gets a mention more than once, and one owner liked the "lovely colour" and the "lovely high back". Another, who was happy with the bed, said it "could come in more variety of headboards". One unhappy owner, five weeks on, wrote "we still do not have what we were demonstrated".
The Verdict
Having personally visited the TEMPUR® store to examine this product, I found the TEMPUR® Linford Sleepmotion Adjustable Upholstered Bed Frame to be a sophisticated blend of luxury, comfort, and contemporary design. The statement winged headboard is nothing less than a centrepiece, while the practical features cater for modern living, improving the overall sleep experience.
The bed falls on the pricier end of the spectrum once you count in the additional add-ons, and there are a few minor details that could be improved, such as the visible gap in use and USB ports that will date. None of these annoyances is a reason to walk away if you read or watch TV in bed. The TEMPUR® Linford Sleepmotion Adjustable Upholstered Bed Frame isn't perfect, but it's a worthy contender in its league and a strong choice for those seeking luxury and comfort.
